Nice ride
Bought my used accord in '07 w/ 58,000. This car looks nice, rides nice, but w a 13.5 gal tank my trip is only reading 320 miles til empty. What's that about 25mpg- (city/highway) I am little disappointed in the gas mileage, I got better in my 97' Saturn (28mpg). but over all I would buy another Honda because it's been two years and no problems, nada!!!
Great Family Sports Sedan
I'm writing this review because Edmunds.com was such a valuable source of research when I was car shopping, and I wanted to return the favor. We recently bought a used 2003 Honda Accord EX v6 with 72,000 miles. Immediately I was struck with the aggressive acceleration of the Accord - this car is fast! I had driven Hondas in the past and always loved how tight they feel, both on road handling and interior components. Everything feels well considered and integrated. I bought this car primarily for my wife for her daily use. I drive it on long road trips (just logged 1,000 miles on the last one), and feel it is perfectly suited for our needs, reliable, safe (for when we have kids) and fun!

Best of Show
Another reviewer was considering the Infiniti G35 like I was, but its interior is no good. This Accord has all of the features I wanted. Extremely good interior ergonomics. I love the G35 more on the outside, but I spend so much time inside my car, that the Honda was the better choice.
Pure enjoyment
Why did I buy the EX V-6 over the XLE V- 6 Camry? Much better power, better interior and exterior styling, and just plain more fun to drive.
Service Department Attitude
My Accord Has had brake problems. At first they were grabby. Then at 5000 mi they chattered. The service writer said it was my fault for braking hard - forgive me for using the brakes. They resurfaced the discs. (not replaced - I paid for a new car). Now at 7500 I again have brake chatter. Service is poor and service writerss have an attitude. I have driven new cars every couple of years and have never had a brake problem. I'll never been treated more poorly when requesting warranty service. Buy something else.... Serviced at Tempe Honda of Tempe, AZ
EX-tasy
This car is a good buy especially if you want a sunroof, alloy wheels, etc. They all come standard in comparison to competing brands which have them as $$ options. I like the handling (not boaty like the Camry), construction, interior comfort, and overall driving experience. My only complaint so far is the mild wind noise from the driver's window (my '93 Corolla did not have that problem). I don't think you will be unhappy with the car unless you pick a defective one off the dealership lot.
Smooth.
Having previously owned two other Honda's, the 2003 Accord seemed like a no-brainer. Having owned civics before, this time around I wanted a measure of luxury. The newly designed Accord certainly provides that. I'd definitely recommend it.
quality vehicel
Driving the 2003 Honda Accord, anyone can tell it's a real quality made vehicle. It's a great car that fits most people's needs and the V6 model offers something for those with sportier tastes.
I love it!!
I just bought my Honda two days ago and I never want to leave it! This is my first new car and I couldn't be any more happier. It is so fun to drive and I'm very proud to own this coupe!
Out engineered German engineering
Excellent seats, beautiful instument panel, excellent interior ergonomics. Handling, acceleration and braking inspire confidence. Love the way the transmission keeps engine in the power band. Quitest and most solid feeling car in class, hands down
Unbelievable
Picked up the 2003 Accord Coupe yesterday, and all I can say is that it's amazing. I test drove a fully loaded 2002 Accord Coupe and I was quite pleased. Then when I got behind the 2003 Accord, I was immediately sold. I highly reccomend this vehicled to anyone.
'03 accord...best bang for buck
After shopping for a half-decent commuter car. I came home with a new 4- cyl Accord-EX Coupe. I test drove the V4 as well as the V6 but didn't see a huge difference for $3- $4k more. I think the V4 is very smooth w/amazing power. The history of good resale value and the fact that I get 34mpg mileage were also determining factors. I've never owned a honda before. I've had 2-VW jetta's which have been as fun to drive as the new accord, but wanted to get the Honda this time to see what all the fuss was about. If I hate it I'll sell it and get another VW....but I love it and don't think I'll be selling it anytime soon
side impact...say no more..
we had a 2000 accord, and we got that one over a camry and more expensive sedans like the passat due to the fact we have kids in the back seats and the gov side crash tests for accord were nice. Then after a van hit totalled the passenger side of the car, but all three kids walked out of the accord (the car spun adsorbed full impact confined to the door structures).. well we got another accord 2003 LX.
Best Bang for Your Buck
At first I was a little hesitant about investing in this car. After intense research and review it was conclusive. This was definitely the car for me. Sitting in this car you are distracted from the world. The cabin is truly quiet and very spacious considering it is a two-door vehicle. The features are detailed and easily accessible and it handles the city curves with mass precision. This car accelerates quietly and smoothly. In this car everything you need is included. Optional features are really an option and are really the last things you need to consider. This vehicle comes equipped with dual heating/cooling, leather, heated seats & much, much more.
Solid enhancements
Honda has another winner with the 2003 Accord.
The best value for luxury wth GPS
I shopped them all lexus, bmw, volvo etc.. & this is the best value for comfort & reliability with GPS
Very reliable
I bought this being 5y.o. at 75K mi.I own it for 2 years now with 100Kmi. Only very minor problems. Recently the light inside won't come on when doors open. Seems to be loose wire contact. Very pleasant to drive. I'm glad I didn't read this review before I bought it. I live in Las Vegas, so perhaps the car lasts longer in the mild climate.
Great Car
This is a great car. My father owns a Mercedes E320 and there is not much difference in the fit and finish, ride, and performance. This car is very quiet and powerful with the V6. The Accord feels larger than I expected.
Excellent!!
I was shopping for a new car, looking at the new GTI, Acura RSX and Celica. We stumbled upon the new 03 Honda Accord Coupe EXV6. I had never been much of a Honda fan - but this blew me away. The interior is beautiful with plush leather seats, excellent stereo system 180 watts with built in dash 6 CD and radio controls on the steering wheel. Compared to other cars - there was no comparison!
Great Car----Great Price
This is our 5th Honda and by far the best.Good ride, much quieter than previous years.Lots of nice features.
Good, reliabile car
its an awesome car. fun riding and excellent power. its amazing how fast and comfortable this car is. its an good mixture of horsepower, style, and agilty. over all its a well rounded vehicle.
great powerful car
this car really did suprise my with how much it has improved. It is remarkable because I did have an Accord before however this is way better.
WOW, from newly retired Honda Hater!
Great Handling & Power! This car REALLY moves with that V6 - no joking! The interior design is professionally crafted . . . This IS ergonimics defined! On the downside (every story has one), the exterior team needs to step up to the plate and deliver something/ANYTHING better and more in keeping with what's concealed under the hood and within the doors! Get it together, and give the shape more BODY!
soft metal
this car dents too easily. an acorn actually put a dent in the top of a fender panel. i garage this car but it's full of little creased dents all over. fuel consumption never gets above 28 mpg highway at 75-79 mph. i used to get 30 mpg with a GM LS1 V-8 with twice the horsepower. (average detroit v-6 gets the same milage with an auto-tranny - no detroit fan here.) the interior controls like door locks are poorly defined. sound system is terrific. winter handling, braking, high speed driving and other fundemantals A+.
SWEET!!! except for 1 stupid feature
All in all, a sweet car. You get a great combination of luxury (leather trim, CD player), relaxation (sun roof, cruising) and family (4dr sedan with baby seat). The ONLY annoying thing is the RIDICULOUS sliding center console - there should be a latch to keep it in place, otherwise be sure you aren't holding a drink or food.
Best for your dollor
I bought at brand new, and went to 1,000 miles vacation at second day. no break in. I got 30 miles per gallon with great performance and comfortable. also the 5 speed auto transmition works great, plus ABS, EDB, tracking control, side airbag, 6 CD changer, security system... altogether, only $22,000 better than Camry & Altima & Maxima. the best value of family car.
very nice car
its a great vehicle:fun to drive, sporty, and fast
Great so far..
No problems and no complaints so far. My last 3 vehicles have been Toyotas. If this car lasts as long as those, I will be completely satisfied.
The Jiggle Machine
After many good years with my 92 LX, looked forward to new 03 Accord. Many improvements. However, terribly disappointed with extremely harsh/stiff ride. This car never stops jiggling up and down on even the smoothest of roadways. What good is great handling and engine performance when you feel you have to hang on for dear life because of the bumpy totally distracting ride? Honda engineers have blundered big time on the ride or maybe I have a lemon?
2003 EX-L V6 w/Navi - Graphite Pearl
Nice car. Sold my 2000 EX-L V6 and bought this one. Got the soundproofing for $350, the full wing for $500 and the car for $26,500. Much quieter than the 2000. Tranny hesitates a bit going from Rev. or neutral to Drive. Once there, it is very smooth. Love the interior, but I felt the need to self install a day/night mirror with compass. Don't buy from dealer; buy online. Same parts. Overall, I'd give this ride a 9.1. See suggested improvements
Best car I have driven so far
This is my first Honda and I like it. After 5 years of drive, there still is no noise from inside. Way better quality than my previous Toyota Corolla. And with only a 2.4 L engine, this car accelerates so fast that I felt like in a sport car. And I got 25 GPS minimum when I drove in the city, way better than my previous Nissan Altima. My car only needs to replace engine oil every 10,000 miles. Save money. I never have any problem with my car, except may be one or two recall services by Honda. I love the car and passed this 2003 model to my daughter. I just bought a new 2008 Accord EX for myself.
Used 03 EX I-4 115.5k miles
First Honda I've ever owned. This was the first year of this model so it had two design problems. The front motor mount had to be replaced and corrected with a stabilizer bar and windshield wiper motor had a new cover put over it because of water corrosion. I just replaced my front brake pads after 60k got tired of the new pads sitting in the trunk. I found I get better highway gas mileage with 5-30w 25cty/30hwy oil then using the 5-20w 26cty/28hwy. The only parts replaced because of failure was an O2 sensor at 63k and A/C ON/OFF switch. I do change oil at 3.2k to 3.5k and transmission fluid once a year.
real nice car
let see i bought my car on sep. 2002 i HAVE ALREADY put 22,000 miles on it yes i drive it alot well should i say my wife :). its a real smooth car we enjoy long trips. My maine concren was SAFETY for my daughter.kind of makes you feel in a luxury car with out the big price im very happy with the car. But only one bad thing about it the back breaks had to be replace at 17,000 miles the dealer said that the reason for the back breaks wearing out because the pads in the back are more softer then the fronts.other then that its a very good vehicle. I highly recomended.
BEST ACCORD YET
This is my 6th generation Honda Accord, and by far the most improved over the previous model. Although close in size to the 98-02 model, the 2003 has more substance and presence. Materials and workmanship are excellent.
Not as impressed as when I test drove it
I've had my EX V-6 for almost 4 weeks now. I'm 6'3" and have always been forced to drive an American car. Along came the 2003 Accord and I thought my prayers were finally being answered! Now that I've had the car for a few weeks it seems my opinion has changed. No matter how I configure the front seat I can't get comfortable. Fuel economy: Honda says on the sticker that the V6 should get 21/30 mpg, I do primarily highway driving to work everyday and was SHOCKED to see I have only been averaging a mere 17 mpg! That's worse than my 1997 Pontiac Bonneville SSE. Is there anything I can do about this or that Honda can do for me?
2003 Accord
I've had my Accord Coupe for the past 10 months and the fun has yet to stop. Heads still turn and questions are still being asked, definately a conversation piece. Not only does the Accord boast a sleek, stylish design, the v6 packs a PUNCH! There's nothing cheap looking or of cheap quality about this car. I enjoy my Accord so much that I sometimes need an excuse to go somewhere! Spend the extra money on the v6, it's truly well worth it.
A Debendable CAR
This will take care of you if you take care of it.
Superb
I've been thoroughly impressed with this car from the moment I test drove it and finally got an agreeable deal. This car can really accelerate from 40- 80 mph and has more than adequate handling. Take a test drive on an open, curvy road...you won't be disappointed!
Accord
Great sedan with everything i need in it.
Extremely satisfied
Only had about 3 weeks. Traded in 1999 LX. This car is great. First time owner of an EX and couldn't be happier. Doors close much gentler giving feel of more expensive car. Rides great, shifts flawlessly. Interior is very sharp, have the silver with black interior.
great car
This car is a great performance and luxury machine. Take off the traction control by pressing a button, and oyu have an instant turbo like feeling when you hit full throttle. One thing i would have gotten different would be, get a 6 speed!!!
Honda
This is a great car. Test drive one if looking. It will sell itself
Perfection
I went from an 1992 accord ex coupe to the 2003 accord lx. This car is perfect it is stylish, and spacious. I would not be paying this type of money for any other car. I looked at the camry but they are so plain, I would rather get the civic over a camry. My car rides smooth and fast when I need it to. And I love how fast my brakes respond.
great
this is a world class car well built inside and out it is my third accord and they keep getting better and better.
This car is awesome!!!
LOVE IT!!! Great pick-up, even though I only have the four cylinder. The cabin is quiet and comfortable.
Outstanding Update
I recently bought a 2003 Honda Accord EX-L at a great price ($2k less than sticker) and have put some about 1000 miles on the car. I test drove the Toyota Camry and the Nissan Altama and found the new Honda Accord hands down the best car. It drives responsively, its fun, and it has all the creature comforts that one might expect in a upper-end luxury vehicle. This car is stylish, peppy 160 horsepower, sodlidly good gass mileage, and bullet proof reliability, plus it holds is value much better than its competitions.
Very Happy
I'm 56 and this is my 1st Honda. My 16 year old son told me to look at the Honda. Did alot of reading the last couple of months. Since our kids are grown up I got the coupe EX-L in red. Only have 900 miles on it so far and this is alot of car for the money and is alot of fun to drive. The quality in this car is great and I'm very glad I baught it.
I love my Accord!
I come from a long line of Acura/Honda owners and this vehicle is the best I have seen. The wonderfully re-designed body lends interest while the luxurious interior draws you in. The powerful engine makes driving a pleasure -- I cannot recommend this car enough!
The new Accord is the best yet by far!
The 2003 Accord EX is my 3rd Honda Accord EX in a row that I've owned and it's the best one yet by far. The resale value of my 95 Accord EX was so high it was almost unbelivable. That was a factor in purchasing the new Accord. The build quality and level of refinement are excellent. I had looked at the Camry too when I bought this car but chose the Accord hands down. Beyond the Camry's Buick-like styling..in my opinion of course..and the significantly lower resale value of Camrys, the handling and the ride of the Camry(XLE and SE)just didn't compare to the Accord. The 2003 Accord EX is a great car!
affordable luxury
I was looking at the lexus ES300 then I heard of the accord, from a friend. I looked at the accord it had everything the Lexus had and more. It has a bigger engine. It is more fun to drive. And you can get it with Voice Activated Navigation System. All the luxury features for that price, honda should sell it for $5000.00 and people will still buy, I know I will. I almost spend $10000 more for the ES300.
