Just a suggestion
I love my car but I had a friend get me front license plate made and I cannot put on the front of my car. I see that most of these Honda's do not have a place to put a front license tag.
They almost got it right!
Overall, a very reliable, comfortable, qick car that I recommend with out reservation. Seats are comfortable, climate control works well, design is progressive yet seperates itself from the old design. Adequate room for family of five. The increase in fuel mileage with an increase in speed is a welcome improvement compared to my 2001 suburban.

This car is fun to drive. The handling around curves is super. The 240HP allows for maneauvering around traffic a breeze. The suspension is wonderful. I don't feel bumps on the road, which allows for a quiet comfortable ride. The cock pit feel is great. Never a problem seeing all the controls. I rate the car a solid 9.9 with the fuel economy being the only draw back.
Great car for the price
Like the othr review said it is a great car in it's price range. However, the car also pulls to the right because of the aligment problem. Generally, I enjoy the car.
No Thrills but No Chills Either
I've owned my Accord EX-L for almost 5 years now and its truly amazing. If you're looking for a car to wow you with performance and handling look elsewhere. But if you want a vehicle that looks classy, rides well, gets great MPG and does just about anything with ease get an Accord. I've taken it on long trips and even though its 5 years old with 40K miles I still prefer it over a rental car any day when I have the option for a business trip. Taught both my teenagers to drive in it and everybody survived! Easily the best all around car I have ever owned...I hope to keep it for many many years to come.
Nice car to drive
I recently bought my new 2003 Honda Accord and have previously owned 3 other Honda's. The new body style and the stereo control panel are extremely nice. It is a very quite vehicle and drives very smoothly.
Better than previous model.
Got the EX-L 3 wks ago. This car is more solid, rigid and fun to drive than previous model. The interior is well designed and detail oriented. Although Honda rarely compete itself against BMW or Benz, this car truly is sporty in term of handling. The 6 in 1 CD changer is a bit difficult to get used to. The center console cover is already starting to rattle, but overall this car is good. I prefer this car's handling over my just bought I35.
Honda Acoord Coupe LX-V6 (5A)
This car is really , i havent bought it yet bought i was just there for a test drive and it looks great, alot of features and very nice and smooth, get the LX-V6 instead of EX-V6 cause it is not worth the extra 2 grands for sunroof and few other things. You get the same power and comfort. I wish i get it as soon as possible.
Very pleased after 7 years
Bought this Accord new in 2003. It has met or exceeded all my expectations. We now have 200,000 km on the car and have made 2 unscheduled visits to the dealership. When the car was new, the low-washer-fluid sensor did not work, or was not connected. At 135,000 km the HVAC/Radio display went out and was replaced, no hassles by a good-will warranty. It's hard to find fault with this car. Clutch still works like new, very reasonable gas mileage, reasonable 4- cyl torque and Hp (161 and 160). Maintenance costs have been low. I am a true car enthusiast and while this car is not overly exciting, it does everything it is expected to do and does it well.
Love our 03' Honda
Have had our new Accord for 2 months now and LOVE it. It has plenty of pep and handles great. The interior leg room is wonderful. I wouldn't have bought anything else. It surprises me that some people have such big complaints, perhaps they should pay more attention before buying a car and test drive more than just one brand.
Sad Story
9 days after purchasing my brand new 2003 Black Accord EX V6 Sedan, a couple from Germany pulled out in front of me...totaling my beautiful car. Both of us believe this car saved our lives. The accident was a front end collision (at 45mph) and we both walked away with only a few injuries. It could have been worse... Afterall, I'm probably one of the first people to own two of the new body styles. And yes, I'm getting the same exact car, some would think that would be bad luck... I think this car was the best thing that I could have been driving in this situation. I would recomend this car to anyone, it's the sexiest sedan I've ever seen.
Not bad...not bad at all...
If you are in the market for a new car then do yourself justice and see the new Accord. The EXL 4cyl is a wonderful car. The V6 was a blast to test drive but the 4 really is a dream. I am getting 26-27 MPG in the city on average after 2 months of ownership. Lot's of get up and go as well. Very pleased. All in all...not bad...not bad at all.
Excellent Car, Great Value
Bought new and has been a great value and still fun to drive. Efficient yet powerful enough to daily commute. I've tracked every tank of gas for this car... averages 33 MPG with a 5 speed manual transmission. Replaced front brakes and original tires at about 72,000 miles. Still original rear brakes. Only two problems - catalytic converter and O2 sensor. No other problems. Overall, a great driving experience.
Great Car
I've only had this car for a couple of days now, but so far I love it. I traded in my 2002 Accord Coupe (EX- V6) for the 2003 4 door EX V6 model. I am so glad that I did. The improvements on the new models are wonderful. The shift points are a lot smoother, and the acceleration is awesome. The front end will take a little getting used to, but overall I am very pleased with my decision.
New Accord Coupe is sweet!!!!!!
I owned a 2002 accord coupe and the new 2003 is like a whole new car, refined and more power than the 2002 model. Excellent ride and confort.
Best Sedan for Your Money.
Well built, fun, reliable car. Ergonomics are easy to get used to. Features of much higher priced cars.
Disappointed
Leased the car 2 weeks back and already both the driver and passanger side of the windows have started rattling, and since the engine is quite it is extremely annoying.
My Honda
The cars runs very well and has the most features for the money. All the options are defined for a model which is nice. I choose it for the style but mostly because of the Navigation sytem. It greatly simplfies getting around. You do not get lost at night. I am thinking trading my Explorer for the Pilot because of the Navigation feature.
window rattle
Bought the car and had some service issues with the dealer. Experiencing window rattle, most likely the windshield. Sounds like it's coming from the seal around the drivers side fron windshield. Otherwise, the car seems fine. At least one other review states similar, keep your ears open.
VERY well done!
Very well done, indeed. Great size, nimble handling, very good performance. Stylish without attracting attention.
Favorite one so far
This has been my favorite vehicle so far. It is fun to drive and looks great. The interior is designed with the passenger's comfort in mind and is very aesthetically pleasing. The car had better options that my Lexus RX300 and a better finish and quality. Living in NY the only problem is in the snow, but I added snow tires and they made a big difference. The handling is tight and the ride is fun and comfortable. I drive 105 miles a day and the V6 has been a lot of fun. The only thing I would have asked for: bluetooth, but I know this is now an option on the newer models. Why I no longer own it? I am buying a 2008 4 Cyl for better gas mileage and I wanted a 4 dr.
Think twice
The vehicles drives great. The glove compartment and doors are hard to close. Had to bring it back more than once and still having a issue. Had a leak in the engine and Honda refuse to take it back when the car is less than one month old. Well this is my second purchse with Honda and also the last. Customer service said once you sign the papers the consumer assumes all respondibity and problems with the car.
More a sports car than a family car!
We love this car! This car is the best value for a family sedan in this price range. Whether it's the peppy and quiet 4 cylinder, smooth and firm suspension, or the terrific cabin ergonimics and feel, there's not much to dislike. The only things the competition has over this car are slightly larger size and more options available on the 4 cylinder models.
best car
best car that i found, fun to drive
Great Car - Excellent buy.
Eventhough I only had this car for a couple of weeks, this car is really great. It looks excellent, and the V-6 is very powerful. The handling and drive is very smooth and solid. Sound system is OK, but the convinience of the interior with the additional space, cup holders and easy to use controls is excellent. The interior is very comfortable, and the back seats are adequate to sit average sized adults. To get the best buy, get the LX-V6. Dealers might not be very flexible with EX-V6.
Honda Accord V6 Excellent!
There is nothing not to like about this car! We drove 300 miles the first day on two lane roads, through hills, etc. It handles very, very well. The steering is tight be you don't easily oversteer the way you do with a Civic. It is fun to to drive, has an amazing amount of power, handles very well, and is smooth and comfortable. The 5 speed auto trans. is very efficient. When you pass someone and need to accelerate, this car delivers! The v-tech engine pulls stronger and stronger.
Boring!
After about 38000 miles, I wish I'd bought a more roomy and drive-exciting CTS or Lincoln LS. This Honda (and Acura I've owned in the past) has become mundane to own!
Unbelievable
Just got our white V6 with tan leather and Navigation. This is our 4th honda accord and it truly does not feel like you are driving just another accord. The handling and performance are very solid and the ride is extremely smooth. Navigation: At first, we thought..."Do we really need a electronic map?" Well, the map is just a small part of the system. Some features we really like are: searching for places like yellow pages, searching for places by phone number, trip computer, address book, voice activated commands like "show ATMs, find nearest restaurant, etc." The touchscreen also controls everything else like the radio, climate control and cd player.
Honda Accord 2003
Much nicer than I expected, much quicker out of the gate. I bit disappointing on fuel efficiency, and the car died within two months! (Bad fuses). But Honda fixed it right away, and they were so embarrassed I thought one or two of the mechanics might commit hari kari. Fortunately, no one did.
almost perfect
Amazing pickup, stylish and simple interior, very firm seats, wonderful handling. But much too bumpy and jiggly on the highway. This drawback alone almost outweighs all the amazing qualities. And the exterior is downright dowdy, a cross between a pontiac grand prix and a buick. that's not a compliment.
Honda Accord V6 EX, What a awsome car
I am very pleased with the new accord for 03. The style is a great change. I did a lot of research and found the accord to excel in all areas. It have a very quiet comfortable ride. the dash design is very nice and easy to use. I was able to get a great deal. I paid 23,984.00 pluse tax. It has a sticker price of 26, 200.00 plus I had the splash gaurds added.
5th Accord
I bought the car new and the only probably I have had is the Engine light came on and it was a sensor. The dealer charged $385 to fix. Just replaced the tires at 58,000 miles. The V-6 is powerful. I rented a car at the airport recently and it was 2010. Basic and when I got back in my Accord I felt that I was driving pure luxury. This is my 5th Accord
A Joy to Own
I looked at Camry, Altima, Avalon, Passat and new Honda. Sat in 2003 Honda and loved the new design. After I test drove, I knew it was the car. FUN to Drive. Quick and felt silky smooth. The interior feels like a luxury car. Can't say enough how nice it is. I agree Honda could have added heated windows and a cassette player ($200+ option). Some of us still have old tapes.
Love it!
I waited for months for the new accords to arrive and it has been well worth the wait. Looked at the acura CL months ago and decided to hold out for the 03 accord coupe - I am so glad I did. This is much more car than the CL for less money. It looks great and is extremely fun to drive. The V6 is defintely worth the extra money!
Great car. stiff (jittery) ride.
My previous car was a (great) 94 Accord LX 4 cylinder with auto transmission. My new 2003 (4 cylinder, LX, auto) has a much stiffer ride. Small bumps are felt. MSRP (with side air bags) was about $20,700. Invoice was about $18,700. I bought it for exactly $18,000 (+ $139 dealer conveyance fee + state sales tax). I drove a 2003 Camry for 2 weeks (rental) and if you want a smoother ride, I'd recommend the Camry. I must add that I am VERY please with my new Accord!
One GREAT Honda
We spent 3 months looking and driving everything out there. My wife wanted the Acura TL S-type 3.2, but we are so glad we waited for the V6 EX and it feels bigger inside, handles great and is so solid. Test Drive this car last, compare all the extra features for the price and you will be glad you did.
Best One Yet
The EX has a great mix of wheels 16"(alloy), ABS brakes (4 wheel disk), suspension and engine (160 hp 4cyl) that provide it with sure handling, power and gas economy. It's a terrific combination. A comfortable interior, great stereo, and sunroof are thrown in. I can't recall being happier with a new car. I had driven 5 sp. manuals for years and got the 5 sp. auto this time--very smooth. I haven't missed the manual transmission.
one minor complaint
I'm very satisfied with the car. It handles beautifully, looks great, and I've had no complaints at all.
The Ugly Duckling
I've owned 5 Accords and this 2003 is easily the best. The 1st time I saw the 2003 version I thought "This car is a little strange looking." Every subsequent time I saw it it got better and better looking -- now, I think it is beautiful -- This is no ugly duckling! I felt the same way about the '90 to 93 Hondas when I first saw them -- the appearance "grew on me." The '94-'97 Honda style never did "grow on me."
2003 Honda LX V6 - excellent car!
This car was the first Honda for me. The negative first - styling is not exactly earth shattering. Very ordinary, very yesterday. The positives - power is amazing, the ride is very good. Turning radius is also good and both road and engine noise is down almost to Camry levels. Interior space appears to be cramped. Controls are as good as the Camry, options and features are slightly better though. For example, LX V6 comes with Traction control, side air bags and 5 speed automatic. ABS and anti- theft are standard in all Accords. Overall very happy with the Accord purchase, would rate it as high as the very impressive Camry!
Great Car!
This car is really nice. We purchased the V-6 and love it. The car handles like the Toyota Avalon and other luxury automobiles. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a fun, reliable and luxury like car.
emotion vs. practicality
I looked at the A4, G35, Altima, Passat & Accord. Loved the A4 styling but it was too pricey. G35 drove like an absolute dream but was also too pricey. Interior of the Altima looked/felt cheap. That left the Passat & Accord. I preferred the Passat; more European look & feel. There was/is nothing wrong w/ the Accord; lots of ower & an amazing array of standard features. It came down to emotions vs. practicality. Although the Passat was more fun to drive, it was about $3500 more than the Accord. So, I went with the Accord. The exterior styling has grown on me. I'm also saving $125 per month. I like that a lot!!
The Legend Returns?
This is our fourth Honda, previously owned 1970, 1988, 1999 and now 2003. In 1991 we bought an Acura Legend. I am surprised how similar in many respects the Accord is to the Legend. Interior dimensions are almost identical, the ride is very similar, but I think the interior design and quality is perhaps better. We were going to hold out for a V-6 with Navigation, but they were hard to come by, so we test drove the EX 4 Cylinder. For a retired couple the power is more than sufficient and the new 5-speed automatic transmission is silky-smooth.
Happy In Ohio
Overall, a quality car for the price. This is my third Honda, and all 3 have had great resales, I expect this to be the same. Most people that see it ask what kind of make, they can't believe its a Honda. Only issue so far is a sulfur smell after short trips; dealer says it's due to brand of gas??
The new and the best
I love my accord it is tons better than the old one there is no wind nose and 240 horses!
itsawright
Got this car to replace wife's 92 Taurus LX w/160k miles on it. She, being smaller, loves the interior. I find the console too close to my right leg when driving. mpressions are good with quite, smooth acceleration catches you offguard when you're doing 85 when you thought you were at 55. Tires thump a little on rough roads but the ride is very enjoyable. Handling is great but the tires start to squeal when the turns get tight. I rate the interior material, fit and finish to be excellent. The instrumentation layout is excellent but I think just three simple knobs could better replace the long lineup of buttons for the vent controls. Overall - a keeper!
2003 Accord, Very Impressive
Took delevery this week on 2003 EX-L Sedan. Dark Blue/Grey Leather. Very quiet, good acceleration, Great Stereo (six disc indash), Large sunroof, Fit and finish excellent. Look and drive one, and you will see why its a top seller in past years, and will be again.
I LIKE IT!!!
Roomy (even for someone 6'4"), comfortable, excellent acceleration. TCS is proving to be very useful with the V6 power. Handles well. Very enjoyable to drive.
Perfect!
Rock solid build quality, some of the best seats this side of Lexus/BMW, nifty dual zone climate control, steering wheel controls, and overall high end feel to this car make this a no-brainer in the mid 20's price range. You won't get more for this price.
Best car I've owned
No problems in 75000 miles. Incredibly dependable and fuel efficient. I replaced the brakes at 70000 miles but had no other issues. We drove from Atlanta to Jacksonville, Florida several times and averaged 30 MPG at 70 MPH. I'm only selling it because we bought an RV and a Chevy Van to pull it and no longer need the Honda. We'll be sorry to see it go.
