4th and last Honda

2003 Honda Accord LX V-6 2dr Coupe (3.0L 6cyl 5A)
0 of 0 people found this review helpful

I regret trading my 99. '03 LX-V6 may be softer, quieter and more powerful but my other three Hondas were much more fun and satisfying. The fit and finish of older Hondas was far superior to the slop that's out now; hood/fenders/doors line up poorly & the door/window trim has been replaced twice in 3 months. Dash reflections cause optical distortions- lower right. Rear view mirror blocks view. Trans slow to downshift. Lumbar bulge too high. Numb road feel-feedback. Weak dealer service. The good: gas mileage better than EPA, smooth & powerful engine, but for tire noise a very quiet interior, easy to read guages, & nice materials.

I wanted to replace my 89 Prelude 4WS. Looked at the GTI/CL/RSX/G35/Cougar. Knew the new Accord would have 6speed/nav./voice system. Waited and waited... then a fully loaded blk/blk arrived. It's not a sports car but is very quick. 6speed is a smooth, short throw. Leans a little on hard turns and the seat doesn't hold me in like the G35 but it's nearly 10k more. The voice system and touch screen is awesome !! Works with anyone's voice. Excellent build quality/ergonomics. Feels solid and firm. Light beams down on the shifter. Plenty of room in the back. Nice line and good paint.

Highly Reliable Honda Accord EX 4 Cyl

I love my 03 Honda Accord 2.4 cyl EX with leather. With 98,000 miles on it, this car continues to amaze me. The only non-standard repair involved the 6 CD changer/radio's electronic screen going blank and the dealer replaced the radio at no charge, even though it was out of warranty (this is a common problem I was told). My car averages 27+ MPG combined and on the highway, it easily exceeds 30 MPG. On my car, the maintenance items like the disc brakes have to replaced every 24,000 miles and the rotors roughly 50,000 miles. The tires on the back were the original tires until recently when I replaced all four tires. This time I'll rotate them, to get even wear.

Our last car was the current model VW Passat. Nice car, but highly problematic. Our new Accord is head and shoulders above the Passat. Honda realized that folks want the feel and performance of a German car. The Accord hits this target with a totally un- Honda feel in all the right ways. Steering, handling, and powertrain work with the precision of a fine German car. The 4-cylinder is smooth and powerful; the auto transmission is razor sharp and always selects the right gear. The car has great passing power and brakes to match. Having owned the Passat and having test-driven Camry and Mazda6, the new Accord is better in every way.

I previously owned a 2000 EX V6 4 Door Accord - was very happy with it. Quick, well handling, conservative styling, good value for the money. I now own the 03' EX V6 w/Navi 4 Door - WOW what an improvement. This car just keeps getting better and better - the 240 hp hauls! - and great MPG also. At 70 mph the trip computer was reading 32 mpg - that's more than the factory sticker states it should get. Trust me - go drive this car - you will buy it. The fit and finish along with the quality make this car the best buy on the planet.

A co-worker described it well when he got out after a ride and said, "if you were to put me in here blindfolded, I'd think I was in a luxury car." Drives and feels more like a luxury car than a family sedan ought to at this (or any) price. Car is smooth & quiet describes this car perfectly (no squeaks or rattles in my sample, at least.) Ergonomics are superb; interior layout & controls are clear, well placed, and provide good tactile feel. Drivetrain does an admirable job of hustling when you want it to, but never at the expense of ride quality. Dealer experience was great, pricing was more than fair.

ENGINE LIGHT

The car performs very well. It's entertaining to drive, gets 31.5MPG, and handles better than the tires allow it to. I have only one concern. The check engine light keeps coming on. The dealership and Honda keep telling me they are working on a fix but don't have the solution yet. The dealership has been very honest and up front so I don't feel I'm being shuffled away, it's just Honda doesn't have a fix yet.The problem centers around the catalitic converter, which the dealer replaced once already, so Honda appearently has an emissions issue making things difficult. Like the car, but better get it fixed or I will require them to replace it.

I traded in my '97 Accord LX (not a single problem!) out of pure greed after test driving the 2003 EX. The handle was flawless and the features were unbelieveable for the cost. I just purchased the car this week and I have already received so many compliments. I find myself making up reasons to take the long route to and from work! I love it!

After shopping for 4 months, I was ready to buy an Infinity G35 when I decided to test drive the new Honda. The build quality is great, handling is outstanding and the performance of the 4 cylinder is amazing. Having owned 2 other Honda's, the car seemed to "fit" better than the more expensive Infinity and the quality of interior of the Honda is much higher. It is not a sports sedan; however, it is a fun to drive family sedan...good job Honda.

Great car -most bang for the buck. It was between the Accord, Passat, 3 series, or Volvo. The Camry was out due to new design looking 5 years old. No regrets. Fast and well built. Most comfortable seats in any of my past cars (BMW 528, Volvo 960, Maxima, Passat).

It had been a couple of years since I grew out of my Civic DX. Going from all the street racing type mods to an actual family type car was long over due for me. I had the option of going with a white with tan leather and wood trim (Luxury look) or Silver with black leather and aluminum trim (Sport Look). Needless to say, the silver one is sitting in my driveway.

This car is typical Honda, very reliable, good gas mileage, and build quality that exceeds the sticker price. So far my only gripe is the road noise of the tires over less than perfect interstate surfaces. I'm not sure if this is the fault of the tires or because there is not enough sound deadening material in the car. Either way it's Honda's issue because they chose the tires for the car. Overall this is a minor gripe because all other aspects of the car are top notch.

I've had a few cars prior to the Accord, but this car is the BOMB. It's exactly like my friend's 7 series BMW w/the exception of cost & engine liter size. It's got 260 HP & it's a scream to drive. When you pull out into 60 mph traffic, you take off & they can't catch you anytime soon.

Camry or Accord? I test drove both and what sold me was the Accord's interior. Simply gorgeous! More upscale than Camry. I love the 4 cylinder automatic as it is one of the smoothest 4s I've ever driven. If you buy EX like I did, splurge the extra $1200-1400 for the leather seats; you also get dual- climate temp system and heated seats with that package. The 6 disc cd is great and it's in the dash. For those who don't like the rear-end styling, the chop-off look is growing on me. The ride is a bit stiff for city driving. I also don't like the brake feel at this point; it should get better once I have this baby over 1000k I hope.

Outside of this one problem, the 2003 Accord is Great. But 5-10 minutes into each trip it emits a horrible hydrogen sulfide smell. The dealer says there is nothing wrong w/ the car, but admits that others have had similar complaints. They basically told me that I will have the problem until they stop oxygenating (sic?) the gas. If you are sensitive to smells, don't buy this car until they have a solution.

I read alot of reviews and checked it out. I was very impressed with the power of the V-6 and how nice the interior looks in EX model with leather. Interior is better than the Acura TL type S I test drove the day before. The TL might look a little cooler but other than the tail lights, the Accord's cool too.

Overall great car. Bought at Invoice and 3.49 financing! Good pickup. Smooth handling. Nice interior design. Comfortable bucket seats. Nice Black Leather. On the highway, kicks into lower gear like a charm for passing. Curves no problem. Picked over Passat because Passat uses Premium gas only for worse gas mileage. Big Back seat cabin -- bigger than Passat. Not your mom's honda.

Bought my first Honda last week after looking at Ford Expeditions for months. Went to dealership just to drive one for the heck of it and fell in love with the 2003 EX with Leather (V-6). I wanted top of the line and I believe I have found it. Honda believes in its product and now I see why. I have been busy accesorizing with gold trim, tinted windows, etc, but it is an awesome car. I was just blown away by the difference in the 2002 to the 2003. Not the same car.

I've been a Honda guy since 1982. I've also owned a couple of Toyotas in that time. Last December my wife decided it was time for her to move up to an Accord from her Civic. She settled on an LX and we happily drove it home from the dealer. I was blown away with all the features and immediately began to fantasize about A 2003 of my own. Problem was I had a 2002 Accord EX with . I gave in though and took delivery on a 2003 Accord EX V-6. What a car. It has power like I haven't had in a car since my old Ford with the 390 ci engine. The comfort and handling are superb.

After reviewing some domestic sedans and looking at the Accord, Camary, and Altima, I came back to the Accord. I was amazed with the amount of room it had in the back seat. I also wanted a car that I could put miles on without a concern - not a problem for Honda. The exterior design is quite plain so I opted for the spoiler which gives is a sporty look. For someone who travels, I recommend the Navigation system. I love the voice activacted features. The only draw back was the difficulty of touch screen functions as the sun was hitting it at a certain angle. The V-6 is a must.Overall, I am one pleased owner - I love it.

My mother in law put 80K miles on this before giving it to my daughter. Pros: comfortable ride, RELIABLE, fast. Decent fuel economy if you must drive a gasser. Cons: The "block" (stereo + HVAC controller) will eventually have electronic issues and need to be repaired or replaced. This is a common issue. We also had a wiper fluid motor burn out, but gathering that's much more unusual.

My review may be a bit premature, however, I am so happy with this car and the buying experience that I felt compelled to post. I set out to replace a one year old Nissan with which I was not very satisfied. Looked at Volkswagen Jetta and Toyota Camry. Neither came close to The Accord in "bang for my buck". I took advantage of great financing offers and end of year deals. Walked out with $200 over invoice. Car feels very solid. Good quality workmanship throughout.
