Great Value for the Money

2003 Honda Accord EX V-6 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 5A)
0 of 0 people found this review helpful

I purchased this car to be my everyday useage vehicle. It is my 4th Honda and I see no reason why this car will not outperform the last 3 Honda's I have owned. It is much more refined, has a very powerful and responsive engine, and has many amenities that one has to pay extra for on a much more expensive car. I should know, I researched the competition (Altima & Camry). I also purchased a BMW 330i earlier this year which does not have all the features my Honda Accord EX V-6 lists as standard equipment. Overall you get a great deal at a very reasonable price with Honda reliablity and great resale value.

For the price and after shopping for several different autos, I thought this 2003 EX V6 Sedan has the best bang for the buck. I can not think of another item to add to the interior. My only complaint, which is really small, is the rear exterior view does not match the side or front view. I quess I dislike it the least. The car drives, handles, and is tight. Interior looks like that of a much more expensive brand.

After about 9 months of research, I settled on the V6 6-speed manual. I picked it up in April and haven't gotten out since. The car has excellent pick-up, is incredibly comfortable, and looks beautiful. In my eyes, it's the natural evolution of the now-retired Prelude. Fast, classy, sophisticated and refined. I think this opens a great market for Honda for young professionals who want performance and sophistication but don't want to break the bank for it. The editors here have to be three ways from loopy to not enjoy the ride.

There were only two snags that I experienced with the car. First off I realized a horrible rotten egg smell after I would accelerate sharply or for an extended period of time. Its ok to do this because all Hondas are red lined off the line. The smell turned out to be the catalytic converter 'breaking in', this is supposed to go away after 2000 miles, I'm at 1600 so I can't confirm this. The second is the gas milage. After getting the car I realized I wasn't getting the advertised gas milage. This also turns out to be a breaking in issue, I was told that after 3000/4000 miles (with highway cruising) the car will begin to achieve its normal mpg.

Wow! This is a great car. Thanks Honda for producing such a great piece of machinery. The V-6 engine has PLENTY of power and the 6spd tranny definately puts all 240 horses to the pavement. The interior is well designed and the perforated leather seats are comfortable and supportive. All instruments are laid out in a well organized and thoughtful pattern and the LED gauges are easy to see in day and night. The exterior styling is not for everyone, but personally I really like the looks of this car, especially with the 6spd exclusive 17 inch wheels. Overall, a very well thought out and put together car.

This has been my favorite vehicle so far. It is fun to drive and looks great. The interior is designed with the passenger's comfort in mind and is very aesthetically pleasing. The car had better options that my Lexus RX300 and a better finish and quality. Living in NY the only problem is in the snow, but I added snow tires and they made a big difference. The handling is tight and the ride is fun and comfortable. I drive 105 miles a day and the V6 has been a lot of fun. The only thing I would have asked for: bluetooth, but I know this is now an option on the newer models. Why I no longer own it? I am buying a 2008 4 Cyl for better gas mileage and I wanted a 4 dr.

2003 Accord EX V6 Fit and finish is exceptional reminding me of the fine European cars. The new exterior design borrows from German design trends and looks great. The interior is well done and the controls have that tight German feel to them. 240 horsepower is really fun. The car is an absolute dream to drive. Thank you Honda.

We have had Hondas in the past, and our 2003 Accord more that meets our expectations concerning Honda quality and styling. The ride is smooth and quiet, and unlike most other cars we have owned, the accord is quite fun to drive. Honda has outdone themselves when it comes to the styling of the 2003 Accord, as it is a tremendous improvement and sets the standards for the industry.

I test drove everything in its class. The Mazda 6 was the only car that came close, but even it couldnt offer as many features. This car is so comfortable and fun to be in. I won't even start on the Nav system, which is simply amazing and no other car in its class has one at $26,000. As for performance, its a smooth shifter, takes all the corners well, suspension is a little hard rigth now. My recomendation, Go get one now, if you can find one.

The vehicles drives great. The glove compartment and doors are hard to close. Had to bring it back more than once and still having a issue. Had a leak in the engine and Honda refuse to take it back when the car is less than one month old. Well this is my second purchse with Honda and also the last. Customer service said once you sign the papers the consumer assumes all respondibity and problems with the car.

This car is one of the best cars for the money, hands down. The exterior looks beautiful especially with the dual pipes. Plenty of power. The dealership gave me two grand off of sticker, which made this car an even better buy. This car surpasses everyother car in its class. The closest competitor comes from the V6 altima, however the nissans interior does not match up to the Honda's. Great job Honda

Ive owned the '03 accord coupe 6 speed for about three months now, and would not trade it for the world. I love its torque driven 240hp v-6. The suspension with 4 point upper strut bars and lower anti-roll bars help this sled rocket though corners as if it were glued to the pavement. The 6 speed close ratio tranny can elevate you to new levels excitement (and G-forces). The 17in. wheels and 215/50 michelin rubbers definately help the mean stance the front end of the accord holds. With the help of it TCS, the accord has no worries about wet traction either, I can barely get it to break loose in even a down pour.

We love this car! This car is the best value for a family sedan in this price range. Whether it's the peppy and quiet 4 cylinder, smooth and firm suspension, or the terrific cabin ergonimics and feel, there's not much to dislike. The only things the competition has over this car are slightly larger size and more options available on the 4 cylinder models.

I had in mind I'd buy a Camry, Chrysler, or Honda. I bought the Honda after driving all three. The 240 HP makes it pretty fun. I also bought the Honda because I hate rattles. Quiet performance! Unfortunately, I have some rattles in the interior which are driving me crazy! (no pun intended) I plan to get them fixed, but I'm a bit disappointed.

There is nothing not to like about this car! We drove 300 miles the first day on two lane roads, through hills, etc. It handles very, very well. The steering is tight be you don't easily oversteer the way you do with a Civic. It is fun to to drive, has an amazing amount of power, handles very well, and is smooth and comfortable. The 5 speed auto trans. is very efficient. When you pass someone and need to accelerate, this car delivers! The v-tech engine pulls stronger and stronger.

This re- designed model is head and shoulders above the previous models. The 4 cylinder performs like most 6 cylinders. What a value!

We bought this car in November after numerous transmission problems with our 1996 Ford Taurus. We decided to go for reliability, but what we got was MUCH more in return. The car is so amazing, so quiet and smoooooth. This is a car to take a road trip in, so smooth at high speeds. The amazing thing is the engine, the car is so quiet that you dont realize you just floored it and are now going 70. The interior is so amazing, very well laid out, I love the 6 disc in-dash changer and the heated seats.

Just got our white V6 with tan leather and Navigation. This is our 4th honda accord and it truly does not feel like you are driving just another accord. The handling and performance are very solid and the ride is extremely smooth. Navigation: At first, we thought..."Do we really need a electronic map?" Well, the map is just a small part of the system. Some features we really like are: searching for places like yellow pages, searching for places by phone number, trip computer, address book, voice activated commands like "show ATMs, find nearest restaurant, etc." The touchscreen also controls everything else like the radio, climate control and cd player.

I have my car for two months and love it. Wanted to get something that was sporty, reliable, powerful and comfortable. This car has all of those characteristics and more. I researched and drove the VW Passat, Mazda 6, Lexus ES 300, Nissan Altima, Infinity G35 and BMW 325i. Out of all those cars, the Accord offered the most features for the least amount of money. The car has great pickup in both the low and high RPM ranges. There is a slight delay between when I press on the gas and when I see results, similar to a 4 cyl turbo. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the car and would consider getting another one in the future.

I bought this car two weeks ago and it is the most comfortable car that I have ever been in. All of the controls are easily accessible on the steering wheel and the Navigation system is unsurpassed! I wasnt sure if I wanted the V-6 or the 4 cyl. but after driving both I was convinced that the 4 cyl. was the best I'd ever driven. The pick up is surprisingly good and the V-6 gas mileage wasnt worth the trade off. I have only put 1200 miles on it so far and I already get 400+ miles on one tank of gas. Love this car...got it at an amazing price...would recommend it and the dealership I went to to anyone!

I bought this Accord EX-V6 sedan brand new in December of 2002. Almost 6.5 years in, it has probably been out of service no more than a couple of weeks. I serviced primarily at two dealers (Braman in West Palm Beach, FL & Wade Raulerson in Gainesville, FL) - both are professional and prompt. I have a heavy foot, but my fuel economy is just ok. . . I struggle to get 20mpg with a 50/50 city/highway mix. Wind noise is unacceptably intrusive. However, engine and transmission refinement, overall ride quality, interior design and comfort, and the overall continued quality of this car are unsurpassed in the price range. Not without it faults, but definitely the best pick in this class of vehicle.

I got the LX-V6 because I wanted more headroom and was willing to give up the sunroof to get it. It also helped that the car was $2500 less than the EX-V6. Car is quite, comfortable, fast and a pleasure to drive. Wife has a 2002 Toyota Camry SE-V6; good car with no fun factor. If you want a great car with a wonderful V-6, you must drive this car before you buy anything else.
