Great Car
This car is great. The 4-cyl is smooth and responsive. I test drove the automatic, and it was extremely smooth, but the 5-speed stick is much more fun. The stereo is even good, not what I expect in a honda! Much better interior than the old model, and quiter inside. Not sporty, but it can still be entertaining to drive. Fuel economy is excellent.
Great Car
I wanted to upgrade from my '96 Civic and looked at several cars. I looked at price and reliability. This car had the best price/features/reliability. The small details are great. When you turn off the pull out the key, the interior lights come on. The door ajar idiot light tells you which door is ajar. The center console armrest pulls out so short people or people with long arms can adjust the console. I like the large knobs for the stereo/ air conditioner although they took some getting used to.
Great Car for the Money
When I began my car research I was interested in it and several competitors. I finally decided on the Honda Accord because it had all the features I was looking for at an excellent price.
AWESOME CAR
I was really into mazda 6 before this, but after test driving that car, i was really disappointed. especially 4 cylinder mazda 6. it drove worse than my 99 accord. i test drove 4 cylinder accord and it drives like V6 of the last model. it has really smooth transmission and interior. INTERIOR IS AWESOME. love this car. highly recommended for those looking into midsize cars.
fast and smooth
Very nice, fast, smooth vechicle. Reliable fun to drive. CHicks dig it! Beats getting a BMW with the same features at a more expensive price.
Feels Cheap
I bought the 2003 Accord LX with 27,000 miles on it. Now it has 30,000 miles on it, and I am regretting my decision. The car as a whole seems cheap. The dash has a loud rattle. The glass in front of the gauges is not glass but cheap plastic. The material used for the entire exterior of the car is very thin and goes in with even the slightest pressure.
Phenomenal Car -- Especially for the $$$
The 7th gen accord is by far the best bang for the buck. The fit and finish, performance, and ride quality are all top notch. I really can't think of anything negative about the car unless I really nitpick.
Maxed out car for a mini price
All the stories I heard about Hondas are bearing true. Nice ride, handles well, and relatively quiet. The V-6 moves like the wind; great performance with reasonable gas consumption. Auto climate controls works well. The interior is great; the leather seats are better than ones I've sat in BMW and Mercedes. The Navigation system is great, and voice control is fantastic; change the temp, the CD track, or destination with your voice. It takes some getting used to, but once you go the hang of it, it's easy. You get a very fair value for the price. (Make sure you get the extended HondaCare warranty (7 yr./100K miles) so that the Navi is covered!)
Excellent car for the money.
I would recommend this car to anyone! I'm in my early 20's and used to love the fast, sporty cars, with manual transmissions, but found that it wasn't too practical for an every day commute to work. Just about everything is perfect, and feels like a much more expensive car.
Love this car!
This is my second Accord Coupe..the first was a 1994 which ran quite well, just fell in love w/the design of the 2003 when I took my 80 year old aunt to purchase a Civic. Beautiful car, quick, even for a 4 cylinder. Only drawback, I'm quite short and the side view mirrors obstruct my vision. Not so w/the 1994 Accord.
Shake, Rattle, and Roll
This is the worst assembled car it has ever been my displeasure to own. Shame on the folks in Marysville! Does anyone inspect these things before shipping? I have never been assaulted by so many annoying noises from a vehicle in my life (and I owned a Chevette...)! Rattles, squeaks, clicks, etc. Terrible. My first (and last) Honda. Most difficult standard to get used to I've ever owned. Vague feeling clutch makes smooth shifting almost impossible.
Doors Rattle, Brakes Grab, Roof Leaks
This car is a poorly engineered and poorly manufactured vehicle. The dealer tried to fix the brakes but said that I should be glad they are overly sensitive rather than not having any brakes at all. At 35,995 miles applying the brakes in the rain caused it to go out of control. Problem fixed but brakes still oversensitive. The roof had to be patched because seeping water from the roof pooled in the floorboards causing mold and mildew. The dealer replaced the carpet but did not re-connect the 12V power connection in the center armrest storage compartment. The doors rattle on the smoothest road and the stereo speakers rattle excessively. Road noise LOUD.
One Smooth Honda
Having put almost 28000 miles on our 2003 EXL-Navi, I can honestly say that this is probably the best car we've ever owned in its price class. It's incredibly smooth, fast, economical to operate and, other than a bubble in one tire, has been absolutely trouble free. Although most people would consider this automobile an appliance, its looks and performance belie that.
If you want resale value buy a Honda
I have always been an American car owner. From Dodge Intrepids to Cadillacs to Chevrolet.. I drove the 2003 Accord and realized that Japanese cars are built for the long haul... Do your self a favour and buy a Honda, it is worth every Penny spent....
Excellent Car for your Money
I've had this car since it was released in March of '03, going on 11000 miles. Coming from an S2000, I wanted something that was less noisy, could fit more people, but kept the fun-to- drive factor. I got exactly that in the Accord Coupe 6-speed. Amazing package. Ultra-quiet; while the suspension is "sport-tuned", it doesn't take away from the exceptional level of silence this car exhibits. On local streets, I find myself forgetting to shift, because the car sounds like it's idling when running at around 3000 rpm. On the highway, 80 mph sees the tach at a mere 2500 rpm in 6th gear. I totally agree with Edmunds in saying that this car is "deceptively quick".
Love it
love the smooth drive. everything is wonderful except the infamous real tail light. It doesn't look right.
My Honda and Me
When I decided to buy a new car, I searched and compared for over a month. Being a Ford Truck girl for the last 10 years, my first inclination was to stay with the trucks, but the Honda showed realiability and stability. It has not failed me in either comfort or being the most reliable car I have ever owned. When I trade, it will be a Honda product. The also hold their appreciation which is a plus. I opted for the loaded, leather, navigation, heated seat model and had wood grain added later. It is still a beauty.
AWESOME CAR
WHAT A FANTASTIC AUTOMOBILE THIS IS!!! I COULD HAVE SPENT 10-20 THOUSAND MORE AND WOULD NOT HAVE NEARLY AS MUCH ENJOYMENT/FUFILLMENT THIS CAR HAS GIVEN ME. MY WIFE AND I FIGHT OVER WHO WILL DRIVE IT IN THE MORNING! IT LOOKS AWESOME, TURNS HEADS EVERYWHERE I GO AND IS BUILT EXTREMELY WELL. IT HAS THE SPORTY FEEL WHICH I LIKE AND IS ECONOMICAL. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR IN A CAR? TREAT YOURSELF AND BUY ONE. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.
From a owner who's had it a few years
Sometimes it's nice to hear from someone who's had it a few years. I have the new body style and I absolutly love the car. The one problem I've experienced was that the gas cap HAS TO BE screwed on TIGHT (hear three clicks)! If this isn't done then you'll get air in your tank and engine chugs, this is apparently a common problem according to the dealership. Other than that I love it. Nice design, looks expensive, feels like a solid car, black looks great!
No regrets!
Bought this car new in 2003 and after putting 37k miles on it I have only praises. No problems with anything. The dealer did redo my brakes all the way around at about 18k due to a service bulletin, but nothing else has needed servicing.
Fast Car
This car has everything that is needed. Very well thought out car
First Honda
Excellent Driving car, was looking at all makes and models was even awaiting the arrival of the Mazda 6 (was disappointed in that). What made up my mine was the Consumer Reports article and they were right on the ball.
Sweet Ride EX style
Man where to begin with this wonderful car. I love the way this car looks and getting behind the wheel is even more exhilarating. The car is sporty but yet sophisticated. Getting on the highway is a real rush in this vehicle. I can't wait to get my K&N air filter which will give my beauty "Silver Surfette" approximately 260 horsepower. I would recommend this car to anyone who loves comfort and performance.
Almost Perfect
The car is gorgeous inside and out. I did not expect Honda to create a car with such sports car appeal. As many before me, I have test drove Infiniti's G35 and that was my original car of choice unitil I test drove Honda's new coupe. It handles and rides like a sports car and the 240 horse power V- tec engine is quick and very responsive. A true joy to drive.
Great Value for the Money
This is a great card for th money. For 25K, I got all the features you'd expect from a mercedes or lexus. Great ride, solid build, and very comfortable.
Love This Car
Love this car!! The 4 cylinder engine w/the 5 spd auto is outstanding. It has plenty of power for the highway as well as mountain roads. Driving this car gives me the impression that I'm driving something alot more expensive. The overall quality is excellent.
My Fourth Honda Accord LX
This is my fourth Honda Accord LX. I have found them to be extremely reliable. The styling is above average. They are a very practical and a fun car to own.
Wow...
I've only had my new Honda Accord EX Coup for a few days but it is awesome. SO FUN TO DRIVE. I love the sleek design and functional interior.
Next time, go with the 4 banger.
Car drives smooth and much improved over the previous model. Mileage around town stinks because the auto tranny doesn't allow 5th gear until 48MPH. It rates 20 city 28 hwy and have never achieved more than 24, even with pure highway driving. I've had miscellaneous electrical glitches (switches and radio backlight going out) which is not typical of Honda.
Great car, but the brakes are terrible.
This is the first new car I have ever owned. It is taken care of meticulously. It has 40000 on it, the brakes have been done twice, the head unit once, and there is a rattle on the pax side. It's fast for a sedan. Louder than it should be on the highway. It's comfortable in all seats. Would I buy another one? Probably, but I'll look around.
Honda or Kia?
This is my 3rd honda vehicle- honda civic ex, 2002 honda accord, 2003 honda accord. The build quality of my 2003 Honda Accord EX V-6 is very poor. The trim around the side windows wrinkles up no permanent fix yet. I had a leak on the passenger side i was told was a bad weld? my honda accord was in the shop for a week. I have had my disc brake rotors turned twice from warping, I had rattles and squeaks wich thay also fixed. I can't beleive no one else has had any of these annoying problems. I am totally dissapointed in Honda. I think they are getting lazy. Is this a Honda or a Kia?
Beautiful and Bumpy
Just swithched my 2000 Accord EX for a 2003 Accord EX 4 cylinder with leather. Beautiful appearance in and out (the pk garage guys are taking turns today with it!)- substantially more powerful with stronger brakes. However, EVERY bump is felt significantly. Its pothole season in Boston and now I really know it. Wondering if there is a way to tune the suspension. Herb Chambers dealership in Boston behaved disgustingly during sale- only positive was former salesman (from my last car 3 yrs ago) stepping in to try and salvage dealer reputation.
Accord V6 Coupe
Best Car I Have Ever Owned. Three Years Old and haven't had any problems. the Dealer was very easy to deal with and their service (oil changes only so far) is great.
Very reliable, still plain vanilla
A dependable car with lots of interior space, but very boring on those back country roads (although a nice highway and city cruiser).
Honda Accord
worst interior finish I have ever seen in an automobile. Doors did not fit, rattles, generally poor fit and finsih. Not what I would have expected in a $27,000 car.
like this car a lot
got over $1,000 knocked off sticker. Awesome car. Finally have V6 which MOVES on down the highway! Honda's reliability there too. Wouldn't have bought anything else.
Honda Success
The great mystery now is how Honda could pack such a big punch from four cylinders and yet have great fuel ecconomy! They did a tremendous job in this complete rebuild from the ground up. The quality is obvious throughout the entire car. I think we will have this one a long time! Thanks Honda!
2003 Accord V6 w/Navigation
This is my 4th Accord and they have out domne themselves with this one. It is my first V6 and the power took a bit to get used to. car has everything I could ever ask for in a car. Can not say enough good things about it.
Great Car
Love this car. After 76000 miles, only had three minor problems. (Don't know if these are limited to models built in Mexico) At 38000 miles, strangely, Instrument cluster stopped working. Harness had come loose. Also, headliner drooped in rear of car. After one attempt to glue it back, Honda replaced headliner. Also, Honda had to turn rotors, as they warped at 20000 miles. Overall, has been very reliable.
Great Ride
I love my silver Honda Accord EX. The 4 cyl engine is powerful and smooth. The composition of the dash, radio, CD and clock is great. Love the moonroof controls. The only negative is that I would have preferred another interior color than black but in the final analysis that situation is minimal. This is my fourth Honda and my first EX. I am really enjoying driving this car. As you can tell I am sold on the Honda Accord. It's realibility is very noteworthy.
LUV MY HONDA
First set of brakes went at 12,500; think Landmark took me since I'm now at over 50K on my second set (done by my favorite service station) and still going strong). Have to be careful since there is a lot of horses under the hood; first speeding ticket since I been driving. The brakes have really saved me when fools in front of me stop for no reason whatsoever.
Worth the Money !!!!!
All luxury car have great features. Honda provides these features at a very low cost. Plus Honda has its reputation for its smooth running and low maintenance cost. The 2003 Honda Accord EX V-6 provides style, luxury, reliability and quality for a great price !!
One Fine Automobile
My previous Honda was a 1988 Accord LX with 165,000 miles. I looked at other vehicles in the same price range as the 2003 Accord, and found nothing else that came even close. I find myself wanting to take the long way to and from from work, just to drive it. It accelerates quite nicely when entering the highway, and passing is quite easily accomplished. I am sure the mileage will improve a bit once the engine gets past its break-in period, but it is quite good as it is. Drive it once, and you will compare every other vehicle to the 2003 Accord.
1st Time Honda Owner & Loves It
I have owned several sporty cars of varying makes and models and this is by far the BEST car I've owned. The V6 engine accelerates quickly and easily. Love the navigation system...won't own a car again without one. No complaints at all! Highly recommend. If you test drive it, you'll fall in love!
3 years review
Dealer took care of two recalls, machined rotors-replaced front pads and reverse condition re-program computer, no big issues. Paint chips easily, the drivers window fails to go up or down during cold weather and the check engine light is on. All fluids are fine and with 47k miles maintenance is not due until the 50k. The wife decided to have the 50k maintenance done early to check the p/w and the engine light. I'm starting to lose confidence on this car and that is a pity because the wife is happy and is really comfortable and superior to the domestics offerings. I'm not sure if I will buy Honda again based on my recent experience. Let's see.
All-around Best Sedan under $30K
I like small security which not listed in the spec/anywhere until you bought the car and read the manual, like: - Anti-Theft Radio/CD Player (need PIN to re-activated it) - Auto-reverse power driver-window (will save your kid's finger) - Auto re-lock power doors, within 15 seconds will relock all doors if you don't open one of them - Engine warning signal if you forgot to close or not close it fulle the gas- tank lid when you fill gas. - If brake on any wheel failed, you still be able to brake with two wheels (one front and one opposite rear) instead of 3(which could caused car to spin) I don't believe there's something perfect, but this one very close.
Considered for a Long Time
Was torn between an Accord and used Audi A6. I love the A6 styling but was concerned about the reliability despite Audi's excellent "Certified" program. But, when I drove an A6 and V6 EX back to back I felt the EX is only about 10% behind the A6 in terms of satisfaction. And when I weighed in the known reliability (I have a 1985 Accord LX with 256,000 miles on it) I simply couldn't justify buying the Audi. The fit, finish, comfort and power of the '03 Accord are great. But, I HATE the styling. If it weren't for the fact that I forget about it when I'm behind the wheel because the driving experience is so nice, I never would have bought it. It's that ugly!
Impressed first time Honda owner
We've had our Accord EX for 2 weeks now. We went for a road trip through the Rockie mountains and even drove on unimproved dirt hi-ways. The car is extemely tight, no annoying noises while driving the rough roads, cd changer didnt skip a beat and the car road more smoothly than I anticipated after reading several complaints about the rough ride.We averaged 27.8 MPG on our 300 mile trip that weekend, can't wait to see what regular Hi-way driving gives us. There's little road noise, even with the sunroof down. The navigation system is worth the money. I was suprised at how much information is at the tip of your fingers. Honda has done a great job here.
nice car!
just picked up my new blue accord ex. The car has been great, no problems at all! wasnt considering the Honda because of the old styling, and lack of power the older models had, what a supprise the 03 is.
accord, coupe
The Honda Accord is one of the most reliable vehicles on the market. Our previous car was an Accord LX sedan. Our new Accord feels smoother, quieter, and has better pickup. The redesign od the coupe has turned some heads.
