side impact...say no more..
we had a 2000 accord, and we got that one over a camry and more expensive sedans like the passat due to the fact we have kids in the back seats and the gov side crash tests for accord were nice. Then after a van hit totalled the passenger side of the car, but all three kids walked out of the accord (the car spun adsorbed full impact confined to the door structures).. well we got another accord 2003 LX.
Best car for your money
I just bought this car 2 months ago and I love it. I was looking at the IS300, Maxima, and 325CI. I began to realize that I could get a brand new accord with more HP and features than any of these cars used. This car is great in any comparison. Resale value is great, reliability is great, and price is perfect.

Best Bang for Your Buck
At first I was a little hesitant about investing in this car. After intense research and review it was conclusive. This was definitely the car for me. Sitting in this car you are distracted from the world. The cabin is truly quiet and very spacious considering it is a two-door vehicle. The features are detailed and easily accessible and it handles the city curves with mass precision. This car accelerates quietly and smoothly. In this car everything you need is included. Optional features are really an option and are really the last things you need to consider. This vehicle comes equipped with dual heating/cooling, leather, heated seats & much, much more.
Honda Quality
Very roomy, reliable and solid, Almost 40k miles and not once 4 repairs of any kind! Just the faceof the radio needed to be clue back on. Regular oil changes and at 30k air filter. Very comfortble for long or all day driving and very economical. Average MPG 28 mix.
The best value for luxury wth GPS
I shopped them all lexus, bmw, volvo etc.. & this is the best value for comfort & reliability with GPS
Very reliable
I bought this being 5y.o. at 75K mi.I own it for 2 years now with 100Kmi. Only very minor problems. Recently the light inside won't come on when doors open. Seems to be loose wire contact. Very pleasant to drive. I'm glad I didn't read this review before I bought it. I live in Las Vegas, so perhaps the car lasts longer in the mild climate.
Close to Perfect!
I have been driving since 1964 in the US and overseas. My family and I have owned scores of cars including a a MGA, two Jaguars, a Landrover, 3 VW Beetles, a Datsun 210 sedan, a Mercedes 200, a Mustang GT, a BMW 518, 2 VW Jettas, a Cadillac Seville, 2 Toyota Corollas, 5 Chevrolets, a Chrysler PT Cruiser, and others. I enjoyed and liked most of my cars very much. If I had to say which of the cars that I have owned is my all time favorite, my Honda Accord EX sedan/auto/leather is on the short list.
Good, reliabile car
its an awesome car. fun riding and excellent power. its amazing how fast and comfortable this car is. its an good mixture of horsepower, style, and agilty. over all its a well rounded vehicle.
My 2nd Accord
After my experience with my 1992 Honda Accord I knew my replacement had to be a new Accord. I have a 2003 Accord EX V6 coupe. It is fun to drive, I have gotten many positive comments from strangers at gas stations about the design of the car. The car is fun, it feels safe, reliable, it's a Honda. Average 28mpg average driving, as high as 31mpg all highway driving.
great powerful car
this car really did suprise my with how much it has improved. It is remarkable because I did have an Accord before however this is way better.
My RattleTrap
I have owned the car for about 10 months now and the interior trim is starting to loosen up. I have squeeks at the top of both front doors, two rattles deep inside the dash, the headliner above the driver sunvisor has a very disconcerting "crack" sound when its cold. Their is a rattle somewhere on the rear shelf. The most annoying rattle of all is in the center console. The console has already been replaced once but a new rattle has appeared and it is highly annoying!!! The front rotors warped at 4k and are warped again at almost 11k!!! The passenger side airbag cover is warping. The rear bumper is discolored as well (satin silver is the vehicles color).
soft metal
this car dents too easily. an acorn actually put a dent in the top of a fender panel. i garage this car but it's full of little creased dents all over. fuel consumption never gets above 28 mpg highway at 75-79 mph. i used to get 30 mpg with a GM LS1 V-8 with twice the horsepower. (average detroit v-6 gets the same milage with an auto-tranny - no detroit fan here.) the interior controls like door locks are poorly defined. sound system is terrific. winter handling, braking, high speed driving and other fundemantals A+.
Great Car Overall, very minor gripes
Pros: Great engine- peppy and good on gas (Manual/4cyl). Car feels very nimble and well balanced, probably more so than the top-heavy V6. Headlights are the best I've seen, and the brights are incredible - lighting up the sides of the road to give you better peripheral night-time vision. Cons: not many. Brakes are a bit touchy especially when just warming up (LX with front disc/rear drum). Intermittent wipers are sometimes inconsistent between wiping intervals. Last and least the gas light comes on a little too soon for me at just under a quarter of a tank. Overall am very pleased, this car is a real bargain.
SWEET!!! except for 1 stupid feature
All in all, a sweet car. You get a great combination of luxury (leather trim, CD player), relaxation (sun roof, cruising) and family (4dr sedan with baby seat). The ONLY annoying thing is the RIDICULOUS sliding center console - there should be a latch to keep it in place, otherwise be sure you aren't holding a drink or food.
Honda Uses Name to Sell Cars
20 year Honda fan here. Own an 85 Accord with 370,000 miles on original engine and transmission. 2003 Accord had transmission failure at 1,500 miles (1 month old and before the first payment was made!!!). American Honda refused to do anything more than the warranty work which was a REMANUFACTURED transmission. No other compensation given.
Great so far..
No problems and no complaints so far. My last 3 vehicles have been Toyotas. If this car lasts as long as those, I will be completely satisfied.
2003 Accord - it really sucks!
My wife and I bought a brand-new 2003 Accord b/c of its reliability However, we have been very disappointed, for the main reason we bought the car. After the 1st month we had to have the entire steering system replaced. Ever since then it has been down hill. The dealership we used in Atlanta was very unhelpful with these entire processes. The car now has some kind of electrical problems and the little pop open holder under the stereo sticks constantly it does not open easily anymore. I am glad we bought the extended warranty b/c we will need it. My wife has always been Camry loyal and I am upset now that we didnt buy one, b/c I didnt like the styling.
The Jiggle Machine
After many good years with my 92 LX, looked forward to new 03 Accord. Many improvements. However, terribly disappointed with extremely harsh/stiff ride. This car never stops jiggling up and down on even the smoothest of roadways. What good is great handling and engine performance when you feel you have to hang on for dear life because of the bumpy totally distracting ride? Honda engineers have blundered big time on the ride or maybe I have a lemon?
Love the NEW Design!
I recently returned the 4-dr sedan and went into the NEW coupe; love it!! The handling is tight and great feeling. The style; Honda did an incredible thing!
JJ's Car
I LOVE THIS VEHICULE, but put more features to it and you will see the improvement on the sales. For a better Accord: Standard Fog Lights Day Lights, Standard V6 or more HP and TQ on the 4 Cyl; Make a V Spec engine if is not patented by Nissan, Entry System with Auto StartA Better Warranty....3yrs or 36,000 miles is not good enough for the quality of this car...Remember if you are sure of the Quality of this vehicule you should make a better Warranty on it.
real nice car
let see i bought my car on sep. 2002 i HAVE ALREADY put 22,000 miles on it yes i drive it alot well should i say my wife :). its a real smooth car we enjoy long trips. My maine concren was SAFETY for my daughter.kind of makes you feel in a luxury car with out the big price im very happy with the car. But only one bad thing about it the back breaks had to be replace at 17,000 miles the dealer said that the reason for the back breaks wearing out because the pads in the back are more softer then the fronts.other then that its a very good vehicle. I highly recomended.
Not all it's cracked up to be!
This is my first Honda and my last! The front brakes were shot at 9000 miles. Pads and rotors had to be replaced. The suspension came loose one week after purchasing the car. Dealer tightened, but still makes noises over bumps and feels loose. Dealer says nothing they can do. Anti-lock brake on right front only engages while going over bumps. Again, dealer does not know why. Engine vibrates at idle in drive gear so much that it shakes my whole arm. Dealer says nothing they can do to fix it. I don't see the situation improving anytime soon!
my 2003 honda
I LOVE IT! I have two small kids that are required to be in car seats, the four of us fit really good in it,
A Debendable CAR
This will take care of you if you take care of it.
Just Bought One!
I just bought this vehicle, and I love it. It is a lot more fun to drive than you would think. It has excellent power and a smooth ride. 2 strangers have come up and told me how good it looks! I know Honda has a rep for boring, but try it before you knock it and this car sips gas, I go over 200 miles on a full tank.
Superb
I've been thoroughly impressed with this car from the moment I test drove it and finally got an agreeable deal. This car can really accelerate from 40- 80 mph and has more than adequate handling. Take a test drive on an open, curvy road...you won't be disappointed!
Honda Quality
I have owned the car for 5 months and am having lots of issues. Breaks have been resurfaced twice. Steering column and rack have been replaced. Car steering wanders and is difficult to stabilize. Plus some other minor hassles. Honda and the dealer are very reluctant to resolve any issues. I have just filed car under "lemon" law and hopefully will get my money back. My advice. Look for something else. Honda is not the car it used to be. They are cutting corners on quality and customer service
great car
This car is a great performance and luxury machine. Take off the traction control by pressing a button, and oyu have an instant turbo like feeling when you hit full throttle. One thing i would have gotten different would be, get a 6 speed!!!
"WINNAH!"
Honda has done it again with their Accord line. For 2003 the new accord's comfort is unmatched for the price your getting it for. Having experience with a 2002 camry too, although the camry may Look better on the Outside, but never judge a car by its hood!, its whats under the hood and whats in the car(interior kicks A$$) and has more luxury features and more options to customize, the accord is more on the conserviative side and priced and built only with highest quality in mind, still manage to blance out with conserving and FUN to drive:-D
So far so good
I purchased my new Accord LX in 2003. I still average 35 MPH on the freeway. The only problems I have encountered were the gear shift knob ($20) and the brake light switch ($150). So far no transmission problems. Brakes still good.
Excellent Car!
Best Car on the Road! Very Fun to Drive!
Great Looking Car!
After 13 years and two Civics, I finally moved up to the luxurious Honda Accord Coupe, EX-V6 Graphite Pearl. What an excellent value for all that you get in this package. This is truly a quality crafted automobile.
Love IT
i have always wanted to own a Honda Accord, since i was a teenager. I use to think that the price for them were out of my budget, but to my surprise i could afford it.
Honda
This is a great car. Test drive one if looking. It will sell itself
great
the most beautiful and powerful car
Perfection
I went from an 1992 accord ex coupe to the 2003 accord lx. This car is perfect it is stylish, and spacious. I would not be paying this type of money for any other car. I looked at the camry but they are so plain, I would rather get the civic over a camry. My car rides smooth and fast when I need it to. And I love how fast my brakes respond.
Its A Very O.K. Car
Overall - I am quite pleased with only a few minor complaints. Love the power, handling, climate control. Totally annoyed with the rattle that can't be fixed (its rattled from day one!) and the hard shift from first to second (automatic) first thing in the morning. The interior is simply beautiful!
This car is awesome!!!
LOVE IT!!! Great pick-up, even though I only have the four cylinder. The cabin is quiet and comfortable.
03 EX V6 Coupe
Smooth and quiet ride, awesome acceleration and highway power. Handles like a boat, but good enough for everyday driving. Build quality is excellent, looks like a luxury car with EX V6 and drives like one as well.
The new Accord is the best yet by far!
The 2003 Accord EX is my 3rd Honda Accord EX in a row that I've owned and it's the best one yet by far. The resale value of my 95 Accord EX was so high it was almost unbelivable. That was a factor in purchasing the new Accord. The build quality and level of refinement are excellent. I had looked at the Camry too when I bought this car but chose the Accord hands down. Beyond the Camry's Buick-like styling..in my opinion of course..and the significantly lower resale value of Camrys, the handling and the ride of the Camry(XLE and SE)just didn't compare to the Accord. The 2003 Accord EX is a great car!
Best car under $25,000
This is our 2nd Accord (we bought one in May 2003). The Accord has many standard features that are extra on Camry. Didn't consider the Maxima because of the premium fuel requirement. Didn't consider the Altima because of reviews of the "noisy" 4 cyclinder engine. The Altima V6 is the same as the Maxima V6, so it would requre premium gas so the Altima was out of the question. Toyota has ABS as extra?!?! You must be kidding. Interior design of Accord is much better than the Camry.
Great car
Honda finally got it 100% right for this market. Great value for your money. I paid $25,900 for my Accord w/ Navi. Interior is clean and functional, and very roomy. Great layout of dials and switches (except moonroof switches). Exterior is clean, and growing on me. I have not liked Accord styling in the past. This is truly an outstanding deal for the money, and easily outweighs buying a more prestigious brand like a BMW 3 series, or Infiniti G35, which is what I was originally interested in.
best car out there
I enjoy driving more than ever with this car! It has such a hot exterior look and the interior desigh tops it off. This car is a mixture of all the hott cars out there today, but has such an orginal look to it. I am so satisfied with my car, i 100% recommend it.
Overall Great Vehicle
I recently bought an 03 Accord LX 4dr 5-speed 4cyl, June 2008. I love the reliability of this vehicle. The gas mileage is great on the highway or in the city. With 25+ MPG, it is quite the gas saver. There are hundreds of after market modifications for this vehicle, making upgrading fun and a must. The interior is well laid out with an exterior that's just as well. The Accord is bigger and roomier than the civic making it a more comfortable ride. Options such as cruise control, steering wheel volume control, 5-disc changer and CD player add to the versatility and comfort. I love the fact that oil changes are needed only every 5,000 miles. For the price, an 03 LX was the best option for me.
Love It
Drove car city and highway great mileage and good performance.Love to drive it any place a real headturner.
amazing
this is absolutely the best car i've ever owned.
Our THIRD Honda Accord
Great car, especially with the 240HP V- 6 option. Would have a V6 over the standard 4 cylinder anytime. The extra power of the 6 is great for freeway merging and accelleration up mountainous terrain.
2ndAccord
I got a great deal on an LX Accord. I had a '97 EX and fell in love with that car. This one is even better in build quality, in comfort, in interior design, and in handling. More horsepower with 4cylinger a plus. I have almost 3,000 miles and have noticed noise from the driver's window.
best accord to date
This is a really great car, i was going to get one with the Navi but it lookes too complicated and the salesman also said it would be obsolete in about 2 years so i decided it wasnt worth the extra $2000. This car has a great amount of power. the salesman was very nice.
The Sweet Ride of Success
I keep wondering why I didn't buy a Honda sooner. The four door EX with the four banger sprints nicely. There is plenty of room for the family. On the first tank of gas we got 33 mpg on the highway as promised by the sticker. The handling is precise. The brakes are excellent. It has a sunroof, 6 disc in dash cd. And it looks great. Why did I insist on driving Fords, Olds, Pontiac and Lincoln for years? Who knows. Will I ever go back? Perhaps. Will I buy another Honda? Certainly. Oh, and don't forget the price. I drove away for the sticker price of 23k. Excellent.
