Great SUV
This thing has all the bells and whistles and rides great. I’m coming off a sedan so it’s a taken a bit of time to get accustomed to parking this bad boy, it’s six inches longer than the outgoing model but the interior space makes it worth it. Loving my 2021 SLT!

great driving experience but many inefficiencies
the interior design is anything but a utility vehicle...unfortunately. There is so much wasted space inside the vehicle. The fold down seats that don't fold flat are embarrassing. The folding third row sits about 10 inches off the floor making it high to use the bed and wasting space. I ended up removing the entire third row (not a quick fix) and replace when needed.. The side cavities in the rear are hollow plastic, wasting more space. the bed, once again does not lay flat. its tilted up and very high due to the permanent folding seats. Most Honda SUV's have more floor to ceiling clearance. For the size of the vehicle, you would expect more movable space throughout the vehicle. The second row does not slide forward or back to create more space. Even the engine compartment has tons of wasted space yet they made the air filter challenging to get to. It's just a poor design for convenience and efficiency.

Honest consumer review
Ordered vehicle in October 2020 came in February 2021. Great comfortable vehicle with no issues at all. Air suspension works flawlessly and is a great help being able to lower vehicle when getting my elderly parents in and out. The rear seat media is a great help in entertaining my grandkids on trips. Overall this is an exceptional vehicle definitely worth the money

Uncomfortable and lacking
I hate my 2021 Yukon. I previously owned the 2016 and loved everything about it. This 2021 has an uncomfortable steering wheel. My family thought I was overreacting until we went on a long trip and they finally agreed. It has a hard edge on it and there is really no comfortable place to hold your hands. They removed the peddle adjustments so as a woman who wears different shoes with different heights, this is frustrating. The interior lighting is so dull so good luck finding something in the dark. Lastly, it was in the shop for a month due to needing the lifters replaced. It had 13k miles.

Love my 2021 Yukon SLT
I purchased my Yukon in April 2021 built in March 2021. No issues with it in the 9 months I have had it. I was surprised to get 29 miles a gallon on the hwy. I would definitely buy again this is my third GMC. I have a 2007 that is still on the road today my son drives with 200,000 miles on it.

GMC Yukon 2021 Duramax
The best SUV I have ever had. The diesel engine is not as "quick" from the start as the gasoline engine, but I have gotten used to making the most out of it, and learned how to push it when I need to. The benefit is that I get 25mpg combined, which is insane for a large a truck this size. The rest - comfortability, space, and safety, are great and in my opinion can only be rivaled by the luxury cousin escalade, or the navigator and the MB GLS. very happy with the price I paid for what I got. - BTW - i see the duramax version is not listed so I had to pick the SLT 5.3 engine.

Better than Edmunds review….
The GMC Yukon really has no competitors and enjoys a niche position it shares with the Chev Tahoe. The ride is outstanding given the vehicle size. Storage, turning radius and resale are much better than the Expedition or Nissan Armada. The seating is comfortable and the relatively flat side bolsters are a plus rather than a negative as indicated in the Edmunds review. Too often auto makers provide aggressive side bolsters which narrow the seat back leaving a larger than average driver resting their back on the bolsters rather than the seat back. I’ve taken many long trips in my 2021 Yukon AT4. I find the seats exceptionally comfortable, attractive with good quality. At 6’4”, I have ample leg room something often missing in mid-sized vehicles and seldom mentioned in reviews. The Yukon is a versatile vehicle with uses that go far beyond transporting people. No vehicle in its class offers more. Update, August 2024. I still like this vehicle and wouldn’t change the original review. I’ve owned it for 3 1/2 years. The ride is great and a big improvement over my 2016 Yukon. The seats are comfortable and the vehicle has plenty of useful space.

Don’t listen to the haters
I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews for the 2021 GMC Yukon and as a recent owner I felt that I should post a review myself. We’ve had our 2021 Yukon Denali for 4 weeks now and it has exceeded our expectations. Great ride, fantastic fit and finish (this is coming from a current 2015 Lexus GS350 owner that was assembled in Japan), we’ve had the SUV for 4 weeks and experienced no issues. When we bought the vehicle last month I asked the sales rep about some of the issues that I had read about online and he said that they had seen a few Yukon’s experience issues but it was all software related. If you are looking for a family vehicle with room for adult passengers and rear-facing child car seats there is not a lot of options that check those boxes and allow a driver that is over 6’ tall (like me) to not feel like they have to compromise on front seat leg room. Bottom line, there is a reason GMC and Chevy dealerships can’t keep these things on the lot. Update - 12 months and 8k miles of ownership and still no issues and still loving it.

Best car I've owned
I've owned more than 15 vehicles, from 7 different manufacturers and this vehicle, by far, is the best I've ever owned! Over 50k miles and other than oil changes and tires (only downside, the Continentals provided were HORRIBLE in rain, replaced with Pirelli Scorpion AS3's and they're great) NO squeaks, rattles, nothing! All electronics working great, just can't say enough good things. I've never owned a vehicle where I've gotten so many compliments. It's the upgraded Cayenne Red with all black interior. Great gas mileage on highway. Local, it is what it is for an almost 8,000lb vehicle. Highly recommend and will buy another!

great decision getting the diesel
This vehicle replaced a 2014 buick enclave which I really liked. We have had large vehicles for many years and the new yukon was no problem getting use to. Lots of room and I am so pleased with the diesel. Has plenty of power and the mileage is amazing. First trip from western NC to Shreveport gave us 28 mpg. I don't fully trust the brakes on the vehicle. The petal is very firm like manual brakes. Takes more foot pressure to stop than I have been use to. I would prefer a hand or foot operated emergency brake with range of braking rather than a button that locks all wheels up immediately. I like to shift gears in our mountains at times and the push button transmission makes it more work and no fun. The multiple systems will take time to get use to, but they are a wonder of achievement. The navigation system works great and is very easy to operate. Good ride and lovely to look at.

Very comfortable
Drove vehicle on several long trips. Have approximately 5,000 miles on SUV. Have had three recalls, none that noticeably affected vehicle. Large, comfortable interior. Nice turn radius for a large vehicle. Very powerful and excellent acceleration. Many excellent safety features. On a few occasions the speakers have stopped working. So far, after vehicle sits for awhile ( 15-30 minutes), speakers return. Given 4 stars instead of 5 due to recalls and speaker issue.
Five stars
The ride is exceptional I love it

No roof rails available for 2021+ model
If you need roof rack cross rails make sure they come with the car - cannot buy after market at all for 21 model year. (written 5/2021). Dealer told me they were recalled. '21 model uses new clamp-on rails - the look neat but GMC parts not available and no third party parts either -- so if you want a roof rails get cross rails with the car when you buy it or don't buy it!

2021 Yukon SLE Info Error
got a error message to call Sirius Radio - no connection. Connection is fine and radio plays. Took to dealer can't solve the problem, call GMC technical support and told take car to dealer. Will need several hours of testing. Not happy with not being able to get a quick fix for a minor problem.

No brakes No battery No CD Player
I purchased my Denali Yukon XL Sept 2020 (ordered vehicle March 2020). Surprisingly, no more CD players. Not everyone is into high tech or uses WiFi. This is a major problem to a lot of consumers who would really prefer to listen to their CD collection instead of the same roll of Sirius music every 12 hours. Upon my purchase, I immediately received Onstar notices that I had two recall on my Denali. To the dealership for repairs and more recalls continued. My biggest complaint at that time was when you would go through a car wash, the poor design does not allow the water to flow away from the vehicle but hangs up (it makes a sound of boiling water) and then it dumps the water once you’ve stopped on your garage floor. The water with soap flows out all over your garage floor once you stop your vehicle. That problem is resurfacing again. More recalls. In October 2021, I drove to Ohio and back (over Friday and back home on Saturday). Sunday I headed out to run errands but on the messsge board of the Denali I was told I had NO brakes; and, I had NO breaks. Can you even imagine what would have happened on either highways or country roads if my brakes failed somewhere on my trip. I called Onstar and had my vehicle towed to the dealership (Ed Martin GMC Indianapolis). They had no idea why no brakes as they started working but they did reboot the computer finally. From the time I picked up my Denali in 2020, odd things would happen with the side mirrors, mostly with the right mirror as it would never stay in the set position. Now, the battery does not hold a charge well. They replaced the battery after it sat on their lot for 32 days, because I received the same email from Onstar stating my battery was dangerous low. Like I didn’t know when they called me stating they replaced the battery and come pick up my vehicle (even when that was a battery issue). Every time I took my vehicle in on some stupid things it was doing, they would waste my time trying to get the vehicle to duplicate the issue and finding nothing wrong. My battery would go low and not charge up to 14. I have asked repeatedly to replace the alternator as if it’s not working correctly, the battery will be called on to try and run all the electronics, etc., things will not work right because the battery cannot stay charged. But, they refuse. Now, I was told to make sure I turn off my Bluetooth before shutting off my vehicle, as it continues searching for a signal. That’s unreal as everything should be turned off but some necessary required items behind the scenes when you shutdown your vehicle. I’ve owned Denalis since 2007 starting with a short one. Purchased others in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2021. Though I love the looks of my 2021, I cannot rely on it wondering when it will fail, locally or out of state. Always watching the battery gauge to see if it will charge up to 14, or not. It’s scary.

Major Electrical issues
Having major electrical issues at 16k miles. It locked me inside the car and all power including onstar shut down completely. All kinds of error alerts to my phone and on the vehicle screen. Vehicle told me to roll down the windows then back up and open the doors then shut them. Power steering alert said “take the wheel”. I have a seriously possessed Yukon Denali 2021. Dealership said they can’t explain it and found 2 wires rubbing together that they think may have triggered it??? I’m afraid to drive this truck!
Super Nice Truck
We have had our Yukon for almost 6 months and 4000 KMs. So far, no issues. What a nice riding SUV. Very smooth, comfortable, and a joy to drive. We live in a cold and snowy climate and the Yukon loves the snow. Eats through it. The lane keep assist is nice on highway drives. Decent cargo space behind the 3rd row. I’m satisfied with the 5.3L. Mean sounding V8. The fuel mileage in cold weather is atrocious, but has improved quite a a bit now that we are getting milder weather. I feel like it’s a good value for what you get for the price.

Flawless
Not a single dealership repair in 3.5yrs other than overhead console for some recall had done during oil change. Fuel economy around 16.5 with 6.2l but plenty strong. Selected tires smooth but not great traction in the snow. Best vehicle i've owned and i've owned many.
AWESOME COMFORTABLE RELIABLE
My 2021 GMC Yukon is just as comfortable as my 2020 Cadillac Escalade. I would recommend just remember to do the maintenance on time that is the KEY.

2022 Denali Diesel
Just under 50k miles, and I am very happy. Excellent family hauler. Great in snow and muck and can drive long distances (530 miles +) on a single tank of fuel. No complaints regarding third row and storage behind 3rd row, is pretty good. Had to use the engine block heater twice in 3 years, which is a pain, but we spend a lot of time in VT during winter.

Just over 1,000 miles in
Went from a 2017 Chevy Tahoe Premier and I love it. I loved my Tahoe too. The new Sunroof is a fantastic upgrade. Love the extra space behind 3rd row and the cargo area is much flatter. I also appreciate the adjustable 2nd row buckets. My only dislike it how they changed the texting feature. On my previous vehicle, it would pop up with who you had a message from, this one does not. I don't care for the Wireless Carplay because I don't need it.
