Unbearable road noise

The good: The car handles well. The tiny engine really is enough with it's 9 speed transmission. It is equipped with a lot of safety features. The Bad: Road noise will drive you crazy. Worst GMC I have ever owned.

I do not recommend this Small SUV

2023 GMC Terrain AT4 4dr SUV AWD (1.5L 4cyl Turbo 9A)

Most Honest Review on GMC Terrain AT4 As a GMC Terrain owner of 7 months, I cannot tell you how much I hate the fact that I purchased my Terrain AT4. It should be called a hatchback sedan, not a SUV. Below is my review of the CONS and Pros of this GMC Terrain. CONS MPG for 17500 miles is - 26mpg A roof rack for a vehicle that cannot go off-road does not make sense. Of course, I was charged for all the additional items the dealer put on this non-SUV. Gas tank range - 380 miles, if you are lucky, 387 miles Driving - uneven roads, speed bumps, gravel roads, and dirt roads must be avoided as much as possible while driving this GMC vehicle. This vehicle does not deserve the AT4 tag; if you are a disabled veteran like myself and have chronic pain in your back and legs, driving this vehicle outdoors or off the paved roads will physically hurt you. Towing - GMC mechanics would have to cut the bumper to add a tow bar; installing this system is very expensive. There are almost no accessories or upgraded parts available for this vehicle. Cargo space is horrible - I cannot fit my wheelchair in this vehicle without folding down all the back seats. Heaven forbid I have to take anyone else with me other than my family. No in-cabin air filter - I did not expect this in a non-base model. Does not fit the outdoor lifestyle. Lacks power and responsiveness To make this vehicle off-road worthy would be extremely costly and aggravating. PROS Comfort - the seats are nice, but that is it. The camera system The backing system The safety features

My sister has a Equinox 23 and I have a terrain 2023 is the same thing (in my opinion because I am big guy the gmc seat is more comfort that Equinox) same acceleration same features basically I took the terrain because the style in the front and because I really like that the transmission shift is by bottoms so more space . Not sure why the twin has more rating that this one because again I can compare both models and basically is the same except in seats or style .

Came across this 2022 GMC Terrain SLE with low mileage and many options that we never had before. Many safety features, making driving fun and safe. Came with On Star and all the features offered. So far, we are completely satisfied with the deal we made with Videon.

Better Options Out There

I have had four GMC Terrains. A 2011, two 2020's and a 2022. The 2011 was very dependable and comfortable. However, it started burning excessive oil and the timing chain had to be replaced. Poor design. The 2020 was sturdy reliable and comfortable. The 1.5l engine is very underpowered, the stereo/touch screen lags and unless you have the Bose system the sound is subpar. The 2022 is not as comfortable. The touch screen lags significantly worse than the 2020. It has intermittent runability problems, the tires (Hankooks) are so bad and shaky I had to replace them. Three different dealers couldn't balance them and GM would not warranty them. Expensive item for a new suv. It has air leaks through the window weather striping. Again I was told by the dealer that it is normal due to soft rubber being used (I have a 1991 Chevy Truck that seals better). The 2.0 l engine isn't available anymore which only leaves the gutless 1.5l as an option. The Bose stereo is the best feature with great sound. GM has really gone downhill on quality. It used to be GM products were superior in quality, but that's a thing of the past. When you combine that with the untrained technicians at the dealerships and the even worse Customer service from GM corporate I will not be purchasing any more of their products. I purchased a new GM vehicle every year up through 2023. Now, because of poor quality, lack of Customer service and their support of gay pride I will be switching to Mazda or Mitsubishi.

Not made for Minnesota winters!

There's nothing but sensor computer and mechanical issues in the winter, it's a 2022, and 5 months after I bought it I was getting service engine light warnings and losing power, we thought we had all that fixed but it's happening again. This is been one of the most frustrating purchases I've ever made when it comes to vehicles! I live in an area where you need reliable transportation so I buy no, so much for the cold Minnesota winters and GMC terrains!
