BMW/Mercedes/Lexus Watch Out!

This sport sedan covers so many features that it will have wide appeal to many different drivers. Sporty--like to accelerate a bit, like to handle on curves and twisty roads? This is a great car (should get AWD though). Beauty of styling exceptional without much gaudiness or bling. Standard features for the price--a very good deal--they do not miss anything and zap you with expensive options like Merc/BMW, etc. The little things work well: air-conditioned front seats? Yes and it's quiet and it really cools! Safety features as to traffic, obstructions, blindspot pedestrians, etc.--exceptional. The acceleration on this turbo-charged model is outstanding and no lag (had a Merc 750iL and I know what "lag" is). I am a fairly experienced luxury car owner (I know, brag, brag--sorry) and I am comparing this to: 2012 Audi A7; 2010 BMW 750iL; 2014 Audi S6; 2015 Audi A8 and a 2014 BMW 550i--all of which I mostly enjoyed EXCEPT for the high prices! Give this car a drive and you most likely will have a candidate to save you $25-$30K from the bloated "bling-look at me cattle herd".

This is the best equipped, most fun and safest luxury sedan I have driven . A similarly equipped benz, BMW, or caddy list for $30-50,000 more and I find the overall driving experience to be thrilling, especially on the exhilarating roads of the Aspen , Colorado area. This vehicle has the best 1. Heated seats- that work all the way to your shoulders 2 Cooled Seats- the only ones I have experienced that are so efficient you can keep the air conditioning toned down and thus cut cabin noise 3 stereo system 17 speakers beautifully engineered to lull one with classic bass or blast your favorite rock , that contribute to a wonderfully spoiled yet remarkably safe driving experience. Of note, my wife, who in general does not well tolerate auto travel primarily due to troublesome arthritis, exclaims that she truly ENJOYS driving the G80 Sport and has NEVER felt so safe in any of our prior benz or Cadillacs . Seats are comfortable and easily adjusted: the controls and navigation system are well placed , much more intuitive than BMW, benz, or caddy, and very well thought out featuring the dual controls on the screen and between the front seat passengers. Back seats are firm, comfortable, and very well heated . The overall comfort level is enhanced by the dark shades on three sides of the rear cabin. Finally, every electronic , safety, or comfort gadget- trunk that opens by itself as you approach - seems to have been appreciated in the competition and included often in an improved version- the ventilated seats , traction control , steering adjustment ,and paddle shifters on the steering wheel . All in all , at $56,000 I strongly feel this is A STEEL. And not to be missed before the $$$ approach a true supply- demand equilibrium

I've had this car for about a week now and i cant believe the difference. 2017 the genesis brand came along with a hyundai genesis for 2017. 2018 is the real first g80 made by genesis because the quality and feel are just too different. Im saying this because i had a 2016 hyundai genesis signature package. when I was testing the car, i think it might be underrated. It says 365hp/376lb-ft but im getting around 5 and sub 5 0-60 runs so i want to go dyno the car for curiosity's sake. BUT my only complaint on this care is that there's no AMBIENT LIGHTING.WHY. just look at the e classes interior and how beautiful it is(however cheap feeling it may be). also beware for those who will be driving in the city... on the highway i can get 30 mpg being careful on eco and realistically 25 mpg driving normally but i drove about 150 miles so far of city only after filling up and I have been getting around 10 mpg.. you guys have been warned.

Upgraded from original Hyundai Genesis with 3.8 to 2018 3.3t 2 years ago. The cars interior are similar with the exception of nicer leather alcantera headliner and carbon fiber inserts. Exterior adds the nicer IMO front end and wheel package. But the real difference is the engine and the handling, which takes this car a few notches above my 2015 Genesis. I have owned this car for 2 years trouble free. It is fun adult car, with good power without the attention seeking noise of most sport sedans. If you are in the market for a 4-5 seater for business, this will be a bargain on the used market. Regularly maintain this car, and you will be dollars ahead of your Pals with MB, Audi and BMW’s. Good bye Germans. The Koreans have arrived.

G80 Sport - Not great for northern states.

This was my second Genesis /g80,. Actually first was Hyundai Genesis. Loved loved loved it so I got a new one. Wanted something different, maybe better since I had been driving essentially the same car for 3 years. I decided on the G80 Sport for obvious reasons. I live in Illinois mind you where we have harsh winters and many pot holes. My first G80 had no issues, handled great in I climate weather and the pot holes were just a bump in the road LOL. They somehow talked me into the tire and wheel package when I financed this car for about $1,000. I never buy those warrantys. Bought my car in October and all was great until January when I had a blow out from hitting a pot home. Thank heaven I had the warranty as the tire was about $375. Needless to say, by the end of the winter I had 4 more blow outs and 3 additional tire bubbles, all by the way were covered by the warranty. I ended up complaining to Genesis directly as this was really bothering my that the Continental tires they chose for this car were so fragile. I California not a problem at all. By the way, the Continenlals drove amazing, just as they should on a car like this. Genesis did an amazing thing. They understood why I was upset and easily agreed to replace all 4 tires with Michelins. I was blown away. What customer service. Okay, so how did the Michelins do the next winter. From a perspective of blow outs, no issues at all. These tires were amazon only in that they could take almost any punishment at all. From a oerformans perspective, not so great. On a dry open road they were fine. Very comfortable as they should be. Around a corner when the pavement is a little wet, terrible. So mushy and would slide. So not what I wanted my G80 Sport experience to be. By the way, there were no other tire choices other then the Continenlals or Michelins. Next problem, tire choice and expensive often replacement. So I have this awesome looking and cinfirtavle car and it does not perform at all like a Sport version of a luxury car should. Being a Sport version, the tires are staggered. Meaning the back tires are wider 275s and the fronts are 245s. This why we couldn't find a tire company who had both sizes I needed. So a problem. With staggered tires in any sport car mind you is that they can't be rotated only moved from side to side. What this means is that a 45,000 mile tire might only get you 21,500 miles. So for me it means replacing these expensive, terrible performing tires every 13 or 14 months. If it was a Corvette, I would know this going on and would hope I wouldn't have 8 tires replaced the first year. But I guess replacing the tires is just part of the deal when you buy a sports car or even a sport version of a luxury car. Would have been better, a lot better if the Michelins performed better. I guess my advice is never get staggered wheels on a car without knowing that you have to replace in half the tire rating milage. When buying a car with low profile, performance tires, never buy the Continenlals. Again, the regular Continenlals may be just fine but the low profile tires, in the northern states are not a good value. So so frustrating to have an awesome car that suckered at $60k mind you (not what I paid) and have the frustration of flat tires every 3 weeks and the inconvenience of it (thank G-D I took the warranty). And then have a car that performs terribly on squishy tires that have to be replaced every 13 or 14 months. Tobtell you how much I love this brand, I am work G with the sales manager to take what equity I have and roll it into a new G80 3.8 AWD Ultimate with matching tires. My paymwnt will be just a little higher and I would start payments over at 60 months. I am however getting 36, 000 more miles of free maintenence, fresh brakes which would be replaced in 8 - 10 more months, fresh set of 60,000 mile rated tires that can be rotated. Yes the whole ordeal cost me some money. I however learned a few valuable lessons which I wanted to share here in cars.com
