Ford Tempo/White 4 Dr sedan
This car has been very reliable with a few new parts along the way. Replaced tires, relined brakes, replaced calipers & rotors, headlamp switch, horn brushes, water pump, hoses, belt, gasket, thermostat, fuel filter, spark plugs, replaced front and rear transmission motor mounts, tie rod front right and wheel bearings right and left front, regular fluid checks, oil changes and tune-ups when needed. 4 cylinder, fuel injection, front wheel drive.
RELIABLE
I've had this car for over two years now, and had no major problems with it. It has 98000 miles on it, and has never let me down. Great gas mileage, decent power, excellent AC. It's much better than could be expected for a car 11 years old.
Great car for the price
I've had the car for about 7 months now, and haven't had any problems with it. Everything works great. The motor, transmission, radio, a/c, no electrical problems. It doesn't even burn much oil for such an old car. I go at least 500 miles without having to add a quart. The only problem I have with it is the lack of power. It is the slowest thing I've ever driven. Other than that it's been extremely reliable and smooth.
Like A Timex, She Can Take A Licking & She Keeps On Ticking!
1st Tempo & She Is Awesome, Bought This Tempo As A 2nd Car To My Mercedes Benz S 420 & I Love The Tempo Its Reliable, Cost Efficient & Built like A Tank, 1 Of The Major Factors In Buying This Tempo Was That I Owned Her Sister, 1991 Mercury Topaz & I Rolled This Topaz Down A Mountain God Knows How Many Rolls To The Bottom But I Can Tell You There Was A lot Of Extensions Added To The Tow Trucks Winch To Get her Back Up On The Road & There Was Very Minimal Damage To That Topaz, Reset The Fuel Switch & She Started Right Up & Drove Her Around For 6+ Months Like That & Then She Got T-Boned On The (L) Side At about 80MPH & Was Still Able To Drive & no Injury To Me Either Time, Invincible Safe Cars.
Avoid this car at all cost!
I bought this car from my aunt for $500 dollars, it was in exceptional condition inside and out, and it was the worst purchase I ever made. The Tempo left me high and dry many a time with such repairs and replacements in it's relatively short existence as; Head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, the entire ignition system(Starter, sylenoid, battery) TWICE, water pump, radiator, fan(twice) thermostat(twice) temp sensor, brakes(3 times), The harmonic balancer(which requires the removal of the engine) TWICE,the lens on my turn signal fell off and I glued it back on, then I said "to hell with this" when the tranny started shimmying and sold it.:)
