It looks like a cop car, people on the highway will move over if you drive a certain way. Huge cargo and passenger capacity. Very smooth powertrain. I have had several minor repairs; replacements of a coil pack, a fuel pump controller, and the sway bar links. All were relatively inexpensive. These replacements were inconvenient but were fortunately not unmanageable. I would prefer that the sum of these repairs had not occurred. Still, I depend primarily on this car an average 25K miles per year.

10/04/2022 upDate. Backup camera broke. About $750 to repair. I made a YouTube video to show how to fix it for $75 on your own. It was my first attempt and I made a couple of mistakes. If you try this please add instructions in the comment section to explain how to use the camera clip. https://youtube.com/channel/UC0kGzI7A8zigaM-xhrrFalw APRIL 2022 UPDATE At 71K miles water pump broke. It is usually about $350 to fix. The water pump on my Taurus 2015 is inside of the engine costing thousands to repair. There is a group lawsuit by Kessler Topaz law firm 484 270 1496 call and get your name on the suit. Because of the parts and labor shortage it took a couple of weeks of renting a car until the job was completed. The dealership was caught in the middle and they genuinely felt awful about it. *** I like the ride and handling and most things about the car. I wonder why they didn't take the effort to have people try the features. There are annoyances all over that anyone would notice and they could have changed for little or no cost. The 4 dash air vents use the same left right mechanism to aim the air flow as to determime how much air comes out. I either have air hitting me directly in my face or shut off. The center console is too wide and it bixes the users legs. Also there is little room to keep my left leg. Many drivers have a cell phone they use as a GPS but there is no place to put the phone by the dash so I have to use one of those dopey windshield suction cups. Also the USB is inside the center console but there is no place to pass wires so they get pinched when I close the cover. The dash display sometimes gives the option to see the digital compass but not at other times and I dont know why.

Poor gas Milage

I bought a 2015 Taurus SEL 3.5 liter V6 in March, 2015. The sticker stated, 23 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. So far, I have driven 9000 miles and my overall fuel economy is 21.5 mpg. I brought it back to the dealership with 7500 to have a full diagnostic test done. They didn't find anything wrong. They said it was probably the way I drive. Definitely not true! The best fuel economy on a single tank of gas in the past 6 months has been 22.7 mpg. So disappointed! Had I known this, I would have purchased the F150. I love the overall style of the exterior! I get a lot of looks at stoplights. I am 6'4 and the driver's seat is a little cramped but still comfortable. However, the car sits up quite a bit higher so getting in/out of the car is great. The backup camera is perfect for parking. The back end is pretty high so it does take a little getting used to the rear view mirror. The trunk is huge... wish they would have taken some of that space to expand the cabin a few inches. Overall, I would recommend this car to anyone provided the mpg were at the stated 23 to 29 range.
