12 years & 155K miles strong!!

I love my 09 SEL V6 Blue Suede, Mexican made, American-badged Fusion! 12 years strong and 155K miles on it. It had few problems, but the engine and power train remains strong. Plenty of compliments on the blue suede, as well as the added enhancement stickers on the dashboard. This car has survived being rear ended twice (in NJ and FL - and only damaged the cosmetics, because it has a solid frame and twin bars!) over 3 years of off/on non-driving storage and parking in Florida/SC, road trips from FL to TX, FL to RI, FL to WV (and severe dirt road travel as a FWD!), and as a daily driver. I have gone up to 31 MPG on the highway fully loaded when I was moving. Most expensive repair was labor due to removal of dashboard for AC ambient temp sensor ($1400). I've changed the driver side interior handles twice and the door lock mechanism (cheap, parts from junkyards), and water pump (due to lower hose leak - also cheap from Amazon). No issues with engine, tranny, wheels, computer (even with several battery changes, mainly due to me being overseas and car sitting not being driven). The SYNC stereo and AC controller still runs great. The sat radio become completely useless with the merger of XM/Sirius, but no big deal as most music comes from my phone (synced with motorola razor to samsung note 9 and all in between). Awesome driving experience throughout the years in the south, as well as me driving the crap out of it (wanting a new car, lol). But she still runs strong. Her favorite oil is synthetic, and it's castrol and amsoil (even once changed the oil after 3 years of storage and over 25k miles). She prefers premium gas as well and loves her K&N filter. She's had several recalls, including the airbags (changed) and the ABS (still await parts) - but have no issues hard braking in wet, rainy roads (intentionally induced several times, no issues, but also have great A traction tires). I've used this car to ferry my moves from SC to FL and have carried a 16 foot ladder and a mountain bike INSIDE the cabin, (not to mention, snowboards, lumber, arsenal, scuba, dogs, and paintball gear. I've used overhead racks and bike racks on my car. I've changed the trunk, just to add a spoiler from another fusion I found in the junkyard. Replaced a windshield after 11 years due to rock impact from a semi in TX at 75 MPH, and minor parts like windshield wash nozzles. Heat and AC runs strong with no issues. I've had to glue both taillight lenses, since the adhesive is just reached it lifespan and new taillights are expensive (hard to find in junkyards). Most comfortable car seats I've ever driven on! I've driven this car on long 7-12 hour drives. The blue sued/leather shows it's age, but it's not torn, even after 5 years of no longer conditioning the leather and being exposed to humidity and sun. The rear defroster no longer works, due to installation of rear window tint. Paint has some dings/chips, but still looks good for her age. I've replaced all bulbs to LED except for the high beams - no issues. I've had to replace all brake pads once in 12 years - easy PZ. I always carry a full rimmed spare and tools, and still get decent mileage. Believe it or not, I wanted a Chevy Malibu back in 2008, but found this Fusion after research, ordered it brand new overseas and delivered in SC - all without test driving it. Drove this fusion out of the car lot brand new and never looked back!! My only regret was not getting the rear parking sensors, so I've solved that issue with two rearview cameras, one on my GPS and the other on my dash cam. I'll run this car till she fully retires, since trading her in won't be value added. I've learned that this card is the product of Ford and Mazda cooperation, innovation and partnership - and it truly shows and have proven itself.

I owned my 2009 Ford Fusion for 7 years before it was totaled with 137,000 miles on it. I bought it with 44,000 and have been all over with it. It is a very reliable car that never left me stranded. Other than oil changes and tires it never gave me problems until it’s got over 100,000 miles and those problems were very minor (broken door handle and small leak under car. I would give this vehicle 5 stars but I was very disappointed how it fell apart due to it being completely totaled by little impact

I traded in a 2006 Honda Accord EX on a 2009 Ford Fusion SE with Sport Package. The Fusion handles better than the Accord, has just as much power, and the build quality is just as good if not better than the Accord. In addition, the car is fun to drive. For the price you cannot beat the Fusion.

Vapor Silver, leather, sport package, what a looker! Just awesome. I'm not crazy about the green dash lights, and the jury's still out on the Sync system. My ipod has 8k songs, and will that be read into the system OK? And so far I'm not as crazy about Sirius as I thought I would. Otherwise, I love this car. Easy on the gas I'm getting 22 MPG. It looks great just sitting in my garage!

Bought this car at 68K now it has 90k and I’ve had to replace both tie rods, valve gasket cover, ECM, solenoid actuator. Gas mileage all of a sudden dropped. Engine check light comes on repeatedly for electrical issues due to faulty ECM. The ride is smooth, the tire size is great and with right brand and type you will do fine in wet conditions and snow. Seems like it can’t get out of its own way with the 4 cylinder model. Do consistent oil changes and brakes etc and that was it for a while. But recently the car is just going down the drain and I’m trading it in before a bunch of work is needed that I was hoping not to deal with for this car looking at the reviews 2 years ago. It’s a Ford so what you buy is what you get. They’ve had one recall after another, scared with the airbag for my family and do you really trust it when it’s replaced? A car that will last awhile if you don’t mind shelling out money for electrical maintenance.
