Used 2006 Ford Focus ZX4 S 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl 5M) Consumer Reviews
Ford Focus S w/automatic
Just bought the Focus Saturday and am impressed with it. The pick up for a small four cylinder is decent. The feel of the car is solid, the ride a little like a buckboard, but all small cars are like that. The car responded great when merging on the highway. Was surprised at the quality feel and no noise, no rattling from an engine that I thought would be straining.
Problems
I bought this car used a year and a half ago, because I was going through a divorce and need something that wasn't a gas guzzler and compact. Since the purchase it has needed a new transmission, a new fly wheel and I just replaced the starter. When I bought it the back passenger side strut was already squeaking (and still does). Luckily the transmission and fly wheel were covered by the warranty. However, it cost me $460 to replace the starter. I know there is up keep in buying a car but geez...

Best Car I've Owned
Purchased my 06' Focus ZX4 5 speed in 2017 w/158,000 miles. 7 years later still running strong! It has 310,740 miles on it! Regular oil changes every 5,000 miles which is recommended by Ford (in the book that came with my car) with Motocraft synthetic blend 5-20! It's regularly maintained & I drive it an average of 500 miles a week for the past 4.5 years! No real quirks. Everything works. Looks almost brand new! Interior is mint along with the body! After market touch screen & back up camera when I purchased it in 2017! Damn good little car! My car & I have been through alot in the past 7 years.

It was a good car
I have a Ford focus it's a 06 zx got it used I've had it over 6 years. The subframe in front is shot all open can not drive not safe. No mechanics ever warned me about any cracks or rust now it's to the point ware it's not fixable and now I have no car and has to be towed. I'm telling my story so it doesn't happen to anyone else I could of been killed or killed someone else. I will miss my car I had just hit 84 thousand miles and it was a good car always started and never had any major problems. But if I had been warned that the subframe was starting to crack and rust years ago I might still have a car.
06 Focus S Sedan
Have a Focus S Sedan (auto, a/c) since early 2006. Car is lots of fun to drive due to great handling and responsive engine. Had it at the dealership once for squeaking noise (parking brake cables), which got fixed on warranty. Fuel economy is bad for a car this size (approx. 60% city/40% hwy in New England: get 19-20 mpg in winter, 22-24 mpg in summer). Car is starting to rust now (many small spots doors, door frames).
