best truck
getting 21 plus miles per gallon. this truck will pull a house off it's foundation. I plan to keep this truck forever. On the expensive side but worth every penny when I get behind the wheel. I'm getting about 70000 miles on each set of bf goodrich...
Good Truck
While my wife has her little car, this is our main transportation for highway use, and it's my only form of transportation. We bought it a decade ago to pull a 30-foot 5th wheel camper, and that's been its primary "truck" use. Problems included a half dozen or so glow plug replacements, some kind of clutch problem (warranty) and a couple minor (cheap) glitches that resulted in limping to the dealer. All were fixed quickly.
2000 XLT Ex Cab 7.3L 373,000 & counting
This is a real work horse 373,000 and still quient and strong. These are not normal trucks the 7.3L diesel is powerful and reliable
my best truck
My Ford F-250 is the best truck that I have owned. Plenty of power to pull my 32 ft. travel trailer all around the country.
title of my review
I love my F-250. I love the stiffer ride I know it was built tough to withstand more then I can put it through.
#1 truck i have ever owned
This truck is by far the best vechile i have ever owned. it tows my dual car hauler with out even a hesitation and with out any trailer sway. Verry sturdy platform for a work truck and not to bad as a daily driver. the only thing i wish was better was that i only get 13.6 miles to the gallon no mater how i drive. other than that i see myself driving this truck for atleast 10 years
great truck
This a great truck
Poor Payload in Diesel
My 7.3 L diesel, ext. Cab, 4wd, xlt trim pkg has a curbweight of 7500lb and a GVWR of 8800 lb. That makes for a payload of 1300 lb, so it is not really a 3/4 ton truck. If you overload it, don't take your eyes off the road as it "skates" down the lane. It is a very reliable vehicle however. 30000 miles in 6 years (150000 on it now) and the only nonmaintenance items have been a new alternator and glow plug relay. I get 18mpg unloaded and 13-14mpg with my slide-in camper on it. It is a bit noisy. Transmission and 4wd have been flawless.
