Just like someone would comment coming from the Toyota world the F150 is like a Spaceship. I initially went from a 2013 Tacoma Baja Ed to the Tundra TRD SR5. The Tacoma had a better package than the Tundra so it felt like a downgrade, then I totally went like 3 steps up with a 2022 F150 Lariat. OMG the technology package is unbelievable, the comfort inside is awesome. The F150 has so many features, you'll probably never used them all through out your ownership but they are there. The 3.7 ecoboost engine is powerful without breaking the bank for fuel, this is something where Toyota has totally dropped the ball. The space in the Crew Cab is a lot better than the Tacoma or the Tundra Double Cab. The interior design so much safe to use than that on the Tundra. Simply for instance the heated seats button in the Tundra are located way below the AC or radio controls you actually have to be almost look under the dashboard to find them, this is a safety issue since you have to take your eyes off the road in order to either turn them on or off. For a V6 engine having the same response of a V8 2 litters bigger and being faster it says a lot. With all the safety features even my insurance went a little down. I couldn't be more happy.

A real pain

I have owned well over a dozen Ford and Lincoln vehicles including several top trim F150s and never had any issues until this one. At 4500 miles the differential pinion seal was leaking. Got it replaced. At 5200 miles it was leaking again. Got it replaced. Now at 5500 miles it has started leaking again. From the time I picked it up, I would notice a shudder that was noticeable when I would accelerate just 3-4 mph. That issue has not been resolved. I think the driveshaft is out of balance or the pinion bearing is bad and that destroys the seals. It has totally destroyed my confidence in this vehicle. I can live with the other minor glitches like phone not connecting and navigation slow to start, but the drivetrain issue has marked my end of Ford products. Ford can say goodbye to the probably over a million bucks I’ve spent on Ford vehicles and anymore I might have spent. My advice is to stay away

10R80 Never Again!

2023 Ford F-150 Tremor 4dr SuperCrew 4WD SB (5.0L 8cyl 10A)

I’ve owned many cars and trucks over the years, and I’ve always had a preference for Ford. I sold my 2005 F150 XLT to buy my brand new 2023 F150 Tremor 402- high option. By 5k miles I was seeing bugs. The Sync display would freeze, the power windows wouldn’t roll down when remote started, interior plastics would rattle. These things were annoying, but I could live with them. The came the clunking. It felt light I got rear ended. Coming to a stop, the truck started clunking. I then noticed it would downshift harshly, enough to jolt myself and others in the truck, or sometimes it would downshift too early, or not downshift at all - like total power loss when trying to go uphill or turn. I took it to the dealer, and they said even though they are aware of these defects ( covered in TSB 22-2428), Ford won’t authorize repairs unless they are repeatable - even though I have videos showing these happening multiple times. This truck has 8,400 miles and I HATE driving it. Google the Ford 10R80 issues before you ever think about buying one of these trucks. Ford has NOT fixed this issue, and those with them are stuck living with them and driving a clunky, jerky truck until the transmission eventually fails.

Junk IWE system

Very disappointed! Bought a new 2023 F-150 XLT in October 2023. The iwe system started acting up at the first bit of cold weather less than a month later. Been in the shop 4 times and it still isn't fixed. They replaced iwe and wheel bearings on one trip and then replaced the iwe again on another trip. The dealer has contacted Ford and they don't have a fix at this time. After doing some research I have found that this is widespread in XLT and lower packages. I was given a 2023 loaner, and it has the same problem. I have been trying for a buyback but have been denied so far.

The Sourness of a Lower Priced Truck is forever

2023 Ford F-150 Platinum 4dr SuperCrew 4WD 5.5 ft. SB (5.0L 8cyl 10A)

I have owned F150's since 1998. In late 2022 Ford Dealers had virtually no inventory of F150 Lariats or Platinum Trims on the lot when my 2019 F150 Lariat lease ended. So I looked at "other brand of trucks" and found one of the "competitor's" version to be very nice and I like it. This OTHER TRUCKS had lower prices and they also had more inventory to choose from. I bought one. Well that so called more "bang for the buck" theme came to an end in less than 30 days and around 2300 miles it had catastrophic engine failure while I was 300 miles from home. The honeymoon was over when the Other Truck Brand's Service Department had my truck 70 of the 100 days I owned it. They could not get the engine fixed or even figure out what was wrong so I invoked the Lemon Law. I had a refund check in hand by early February 2023 so I went shopping again for a new truck. I acknowledge that any of the Five Manufacturers of Pick Up Trucks can have a bad one in the batch, even Ford. Believe it or not, I did give the exact same brand another chance and ordered (with no obligation-refundable deposit) the same truck with a the next higher trim level. However I had time to really think about my next purchase waiting on my new non-Ford truck to arrive. Thankfully once you have the time to really compare Ford to all the others, the Ford F150 is the clear winner. When you line them all up, with an open mind, it only made sense to buy F150 and hold out for what you really want. I certainly hope this 2023 F150 treats me well as I acknowledge any manufacturer can produce a Lemon every now and then again, my experience with another brand was likely just a case of bad luck. I believe I made the right choice going back to Ford because I had all the facts, personal experiences and comparisons at my disposal. My only beef with Ford's F150 higher level of trims, is that they have no chips for a heated steering wheel? My advice to Ford is take some of those 'chips' from the EV F150 Lightning & EV Mustang and use them to provide and complete their pricey ICE vehicles. Ford you need to prioritize on ICE vehicles, the ones who brought you to the dance since the production of Henry's first Model T. Ford should at least give you a pair of Leather Driving Gloves with your purchase if they cannot somehow manage one more chip for a heated steering wheel. PS: I cannot name the OTHER TRUCK as I signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement with that company that refunded my money in full, taxes and all.
