7500 miles, and in shop now. oil leak around oil pan, read it is common and often never fixed properly-noted at first oil change at dealer-lucky oil did not gush out and ruin engine, oh and recall for seat belt that can catch fire and driver side door would not close to drive car, supposedly already given the fix well it didn't work losers, fix or repair daily very appropriate, can't wait to unload this lemon that is going to cost me but unsafe and unreliable, do not buy f-150 unless you want problems, dealer would not give me loaner car either, piece of very expensive junk, going back to toyotas

Much better than my previous Silverado

I used to have a 2011 Silverado and was always a GM person. I was very displeased with this last truck and decided to give Ford a try. I bought a used race red 2018 F150 XLT (with the 302A/chrome package - so most of the options) crew cab 4x4 with the 3.3L V6 and 6 speed automatic. It had 14,000 miles on it and I paid just a hair under $30k. I picked this engine combination bc I wanted to put a Western Half Ton plow on the front and was told it was not compatible with the turbo engines. I also wanted the 6 speed transmission because I read the 10 speed was having some issues and was more cumbersome. So far, after 9 months and 7k miles I love the truck and am much more pleased than the Chevy. The comfort is better including seats, driving position, ride, and handling. The engine and transmission are more refined than the Chevy and actually see to have more get-up-and-go. Fuel economy is an average of 20.2 mpg over 7k miles; I've averaged as high as 24.5 mpg on a 400-mile highway round trip with the cruise set at about 74 mph (this is MUCH better than my Chevy which hardly broke 17 mpg.) The start/stop feature actually isn't that bad. I was worried about it at first but it's more intuitive than it seems and I don't mind it. As winter approaches, I may miss the "auto 4WD" feature my Chevy had — (it's only available on the Lariat and up model on the F-150 I believe.) The interior is nice but hard plastics are abundant. I wish I would've gotten leather seats - maybe the Lariat would be nice with the leather stitched dash, wood grain and such.

I had a 2018 by, EcoBoost and had nothing but problems. A big cloud of black smoke came out of the tailpipe, at first, once a week, then every other day. I had it into the shop 6 times, covered under warranty of course. I then took it to my independent mechanic and told me to trade it in. I went back to a Silverado as I previously had one for 12 years and no problems.
