Used 2018 Ford F-150 Consumer Reviews
False mileage claims by Ford
We purchased this F150 with the 2.7 EcoBoost engine in Kent Washington this afternoon, 2-3-18. We drove it 175 miles down I-5 south into Oregon at the speed limit. Ford claims in their F 150 booklet that this truck will get 20 MPG in the City, 26 MPG on the highway and 22 MPG combined MPG. This is completely untrue. We never exceeded the speed limit, traffic was very light and all the driving was on I-5 with no city driving. The roads were dry, yet we obtained 16 MPG for this very first trip. If I could take the truck back right now I would. Ford is lying about fuel economy. I could get 16 in my 1996 Chevrolet Suburban 22 years ago when I purchased it new. I am so angry about this truck because of the lies from Ford.

Best selling but not necessarily the best overall
Don't get me wrong...I really like my F-150. I have had other trucks (Dodge, Chevy) and the competition is very stiff (much like the ride of my Ford. Overall, it is a great truck...the reason I bought it was because I got a deal I couldn't pass up, otherwise, I would have shopped around. I like driving it...it has great handling and the room inside the Crew Cab is crazy...especially for the back seat passengers...they could be sitting at home in a lounge chair and have less room...probably the thing I find the least pleasing is the ride. I had a Dodge 1500 that had a way better ride when hitting bumps. Would I buy another one? Sure...if the deal is right, I'd be back on the Ford bandwagon!!

Unreliable beauty
My 2018 Ford f150 v8 xlt was beautiful but after 4 months of ownership, the check engine light came on. The dealership stated it was losing oil and was at the point of locking up. The dealership associated the problem with a technical service bulletin and replaced the engine (with an identical engine). The truck, with it's new engine ran great but I was fearful of the same problem happening again so I traded it in. Overall I was disappointed with the truck and myself for not doing a more thorough review. A hard lesson to learn

2018 F150 5.0 L Please Check your Oil Level!
Bought 2018 F-150 with 5.0L engine in Oct. At 4,600 miles I decided to check the oil. The dipstick was bone dry and I had to add 3 quarts to register full. Took it to the dealer the next day. They did a complete oil change and put me on a “oil consumption test”, which means I have to bring the truck back to the dealer every 500 miles to be checked. At the 1,500 check I am down 1.5 quarts. The dealer now has my truck to see what they can find. Main take away: I am not the only one with the same exact problem with the 2018 5.0L. Don’t take my word, Search online and and decide for your self. Update: the dealer called and said that Ford is going to replace the engine (new long block). I did not ask for a new engine or any repairs, I was simply following the “oil consumption test”. Dealer said the new engine is on back order for 2 weeks and would call me when it was time to do the engine swap. Being honest the dealership has been very professional and has been a pleasure to work with, no hassles what so ever.
