Used 2018 Ford F-150 Consumer Reviews
POS Ford Quality
I wanted to believe in American ingenuity, capability and most important to me, quality. Bought the truck with 60k miles on it. In the shop needing new cam phasers already. Granny is slipping between 7 and 8 and the touchscreen is acting like a Microsoft Windows phone from 2010. I came from a Yoda, thinking in part that it is un-American to drive a foreign pickup. I'll update this review later, but Deereborn, MI needs to beat Toyota quality and erase the F.O.R.D. acryon we know so well. 1. FOUND ON ROAD DEAD, 2. FIX OR REPAIR DAILY.
The Unicorn
I searched for months and within a 1000 mile range for this truck. I wanted the super cab with 6.5 bed, 4x4, XLT 302A pkg, 2.7 EcoBoost with the 36 gallon tank. There was only 4 trucks within 1000 miles which had this combination. I ended up purchasing this truck in Georgia for 15K below sticker. Currently at 36K miles. Absolutely no mechanical issues. Combination of the 2.7 and the 10 speed transmission consistently provides 22-23 mpg. Combined with the big tank, i get over 700 miles of range!! Only complaints is that truck did not come with Fx4 pkg from factory (but still has the locking diff pkg) I used my Ford Pass points to purchase the FX4 skid plates and installed myself. Original Michelin tires still look new. Will probably get 80K out of them. Will probably purchase another set of take off wheels / tires to install on truck in hunting season for more off road traction. Overall i love the truck and plan on keeping it for 20 years like my last truck (Ram 1500) Update: Now at 45K miles, absolutely no mechanical issues. No rattles, no windnoise, a perfect vehicle for my needs. Update: Now at 52K, no issues what so ever. no rattles, no wind noise, still getting 22-23 mpg. Tires are still at 50% tread. Will probably be setting up the rear end with air bags in the future, when loading bed with dirt / mulch, the suspension will compress to the bump stops, my old Dodge could carry alot more (but it rode like a 3/4 ton) Hopefully the air bags will not comprimise the unloaded ride characteristics. Update: Now at 70K, no mechanical issues. Still riding quiet and smooth. Nothing but regular oil changes. I replaced the torn fabric transmission cover with a more protective part. I was considering an extended warranty (mainly for the 10 speed transmission) but did not purchase. Closer to 100K i will have the pan dropped for service and have the TSB performed as a proactive measure. Still getting 22-23 mpg. Original tires will be replaced before winter. Update: Now @ 87K, did the 100K service early (Diff fluid, transmission, plugs, etc) Everything looked very good coming out. Used Fluid extractor for front diff and transmission, New tires installed at 75K. MPG slipped to ~ 20-21 but i blame the larger, more off road tires for that. No problems at all. Best truck I've ever had. @ 94K now, no changes, no problems, not even a squeak or rattle. Windshield will need replaced soon as the rock chips are adding up. Plastic oil pan has developed a small weep leak, but only loosing a few ounces between 5K OCI. Cost is like $4K to swap to the newer pan with gasket (bad decision by Ford to glue a plastic oil pan to a CGI engine block)

Great package off the lot.
This is a complete truck with a few exceptions. I was looking at a Toyota Tundra in comparison and would have spent more upgrading to get it to the spec I wanted compared to the Raptor stock. There is only one way to buy it with the 802A option do not get it base. Drivability is great and has mileage is better than my Honda Odyssey. Gas mileage improves when using nitrogen in the tires also. Performance is unmatched on a stock off the lot truck. Styling is great as well. I would have given it 5* if the interior design and details were better. It feels a bit cheap for a $80K+ truck with a markup. It’s cheaper to buy the truck out of state at MSRP drive or ship it into CA and register it. The headache will save you $15-20K in dealer markups.
2018 Raptor
Go out away from metro areas to find the best dealer price. After much research & dealership visits its the best way to get a truck with the options you want at a close you're more closely willing to pay (MSRP) without dealer "addendum markups "

Good looking & reliable!
My 2018 F150 XLT super cab 6.5ft bed RWD 2.7L ecoboost sport is exactly the vehicle I asked for & enjoy immensely. I traded a 2014 F250 XLT 4x4 6.7L power stroke diesel for this & the difference is night & day in terms of agility & ease of operation.
