Ford F150 XLT Aluminum body Emerald green.
i have purchased a 2015 F150 XLT extended cab four wheel drive, chrome package emerald green exterior. over all the truck has been reliable, first of all i am not satisfied with the acceleration of the truck. i have a 3.5 eco boost engine. the acceleration is hardly ever smooth. the truck lags for an instant than lurches forward. also the exhaust pipe is coated with a thick layer of black carbon. the dealer said thats normal. also the acceleration is just turbo lag. i almost crashed last winter because of it. now the rear doors become unlatched on the bottom whenever the outside temp gets close to zero. the bad thing is that the parts aren't available to fix the problem because of a shortage. however there is a service order out on this situation. i have a ratchet strap holding the doors closed so i can drive this around in cold weather. there is a safety issue at hand and ford seems to be taking this lightly, i am not however. also after 1.5 years of driving and only 16000 miles on this truck it has depreciated almost 50%. that alone is depressing!!!

Could be great if you don't live in a cold climate
If you like doors that reliably open and close, lock and unlock, look elsewhere. Multiple recalls, TSBs, doors still don't close when wet and cold. Ford doesn't appear to feel this is a requirement for a moving vehicle, as they have several model years that suffer from this issue. I owned the truck a year, and while I really liked the ride and looks of the truck, there were other reliability issues. In an 8 month period I had it into the dealer 6 times. Check engine lights for multiple evap issues, auxilary transmission pump going bad, and the aforementioned door/lock issues. Oh yeah, tailgate would freeze shut too, never did have that looked at. Luckily it was still under warranty for the repairs that were done. Decided it wasn't worth wondering whether or not I could open or close the doors in the winter, traded it in.

2015 F150 New Purchase
Tried all major brands of 1/2 ton trucks. Ford is annoyingly quiet, VERY quick, and as comfortable as your favorite chair. I'm 6'3" and back seat has more room than many mid sized car front seats. Have had truck for 8-months. It has been in the shop for a couple of weeks. Seems the transmission pump for the Auto on/off feature was faulty. Dealership had a problem finding/fixing issue. Also, hit a deer. People concerned about the aluminum body, it stood up just fine. Deer broke out grill, and bumper. Truck didn't crumple like a soda can as many feared. At 1-year point, still very happy. Only issue I have had is with towing. The eco-boost engine is fast, but lacks torque. I pulled a u-haul for about 6-hours on the highway. I don't think it ever left 3rd gear. Had issue come up with water leaking into truck. After 5x visits to dealer it was finally fixed. I have problems with Bluetooth getting /staying connected. This could always be phone.

My fifth F150 and they keep getting better
After owning four F150's (2000, 2005, 2010, 2012), I tinkered with the idea of getting a GMC Sierra. I do like the way the GMC's look. I went to a local dealership and they let me drive a 2016 GMC Sierra SLT 5.3L around for the weekend. The first thing I noticed was a very sluggish feel to exceleration compared to my 2012 F150 5.0. Also, the interior had a cheap feel to it. I eventually passed on the Seirra and ended up back in an F150. It has the 3.5L ecoboost engine. Man, this thing is fast. Overall, I love the truck. Ford's just seems to be getting better and better. Glad I stayed with the F150.

Great New Truck
I have enjoyed my 2015 Ford F150. I recently got home after a 1,300 mile trip and my mileage was just short of 21mpg. It continues to have a in growling noise in the front end that my local Ford dealer can't find. This is a very comfortable truck and I would definitely buy another. I only give the 4 star rating because of the noise in the front end. We have a 2018 Ford Explorer Limited, and I would much rather drive my F150. It is quieter on the road, and more comfortable than the Explorer. 11/21–not too happy with my f150 today. Only 47,000 miles on it and the back window motor has quit. Also paint beginning to peel off the top of the truck. 5/11/23 paint continues to peel off the top in the creases. I keep touching up but not happy about this.
