Baby steps

This was my first truck...I did what every first time buyer does and I bought based on looks alone. The 150 step is a great looking truck! 2 years and 30k miles later I have no problems to report. As a loyal Ford convert, in the next week I'm going to upgrade to a 250 ext cab...A little more room, power and utility. An added bonus is the money for fuel is going to New Texas (formerly Iraq) and not OPEC.

In November, 2003, our F-150 will be 5 years old. At first we had a problem with the sensor that tells whether a door is open/closed and above lights on/off. The F-150 was still under warranty, so they fixed it and it has never happened again. We have 120,000 miles on it and have never had any other problems, until 115,000 miles and the alterernator went out. It has been a tough truck and we haul big loads of pigs, and it's still going strong. doesn't

Almost Perfect

Bought this truck new, and now have about 82K miles on it. It Drives, and rides well, and is still tight after all these miles. I have the 4.6 with a 5 speed manual. The transmission needed main bearings at around 70K. This was the only problem I've ever had with this truck, but it was expensive to fix. Gas mileage averages around 17mpg with a mix of highway and country road driving. There are no rattles, the steering is tight, the brakes are smooth, and the transmission shifts well. The build quality is very good, materials seem of high quality. This truck was screwed together in the Norfolk Va plant which is know for its assembly quality.

i found everything i wanted with this truck. it has yet to have any repairs needed at 70000 miles-great reliability. i have, of course, done some performance improvements to it (headers, hi-flow cats, flowmasters, air intake), but they added to the reliability more than anything. i ahve a manual five speed with 4.6 v8-amazing gas mileage for a 4x4!! 14-16 mpg in city and 17-18 mpg on highway! towing and hauling is great, too-have trouble remembering its a 1/2 ton. this truck is truly built tough! ford tough!

Ordered truck from fleet manager and took delivery two months later. Had a few paint flaws which were taken care of. In the four years I've owned the vehicle the only mechanical problem was an air conditioning valve.
