Up until now I have been a flat out GM man all the way. I desided to take a chance on Ford, since I've had them as service vehicles for years. When I bought this truck it had 85000 miles, it now has 102000 miles. Even with the high mileage this truck is great. Very tight and sound. No squeaks, rattles, and other annoying noises. Haven't had one bit of trouble. I will definately be considering Ford as well as Chevy for my next truck purchase. P.S. I hear a lot of complaining about gas mileage. I have a 4.6L and average about 17mpg highway, which I believe is very good for a pickup.

I bought this truck on 1/2002 with 41K miles now 11/07 it has 71K. It has been an awesome 4x4. Repairs have been an alternator replacement, 2 rear axel seals and some O2 sensors plus normal maintenace. Just took a 3k mile road trip and fuel on the 4.6L v-8 w/w automatic trans ranged from 16-20 mpg at nominal 70 mph interstate driving. Ride is very plush compared to my old 89 F250 4x4. Mine also has the off road package w/w limited slip rear axel which is a great option on off road applications. I replaced the OEM battery this year after 9 yrs! The 4.6 liter V8 is more than enough power for my driving

Bought Sweet heart New in 1998 and it's been a pal ever since. It's the 50th Anniversary Model with the Tu-Tone paint which is Black with Silver trim and Chrome wheels. I opted for the 4.2 V6 which has been bullet proof. Cost was a little under $16,000.Now you can touch a Pickup for anywhere near that price and the newer they get the more uglier and just to big to handle. This 1998 is just the right size and I will keep her until one of us dies. If I go first I'm taken her with me...
