One of the Greatest trucks

This is one of the greatest trucks I've owned or driven. All of my friends also agree with me. It drives great, and the interior is second to none. It's no BMW, but it is one of the best built American cars today. Once again, Ford out does GM.

Explorer in the UK

I have had my Explorer for over 3 years with no major issues. Failed its last MOT on rotten rear hangers, a ball joint and a hole in the exhaust. Not bad for a vehicle that now spends half its life on the beach and in the sea!! Reasonably comfortable but extremely practical. There is no other vehicle (maybe the Toyota Landcruiser) that can match its size for such little money. 20-22 mpg is easily achievable which is just as good as most 4x4 diesels. Pulls like David Beckham at an all girls school. Very solid and very reliable.

Bought new now has 126K miles. Original tran. replaced under warranty at 35k miles. Since then its been a pretty good vehicle. Very capable off-road vehicle. Still has original fact. wheel alignment! Does not come close to overheating in the most extreme conditions even when towing. Since resale value seems to be so low suspect I'll drive it till it drops

From 2002 on up. The radiator blew up at least three times a year and the transmission went out at least once a year. The engine blew once and the battery melted once. There were check engine lights left and right. The dash went out a few times taking the headlights with it. The doors kept sticking and wouldn't open from the inside until the handles finally broke off. A few doors wouldn't open at all. I just kept fixing it all and kept saying I loved the car, now I admit I spent way too much just trying to keep it running. I spent 13,000 just buying the car, and I spent 8,000 or more just to keep it running. NOT WORTH IT!!!

Have had numerous repetitive problems including A/C, heater, Heater core and other leaks. Never gets fixed right without numerous visits. In garage at least once per month. Pinion and diff bearings, front seals, hood shocks, noise in front wheel area for several years, speed control, rear wiper, radio, horn relay, on and on. Will never buy a Ford product again.
