Bad Transmission
At 4000 miles the transmission started to slip between 3-5 gear. Was told it was the valve body, that didn't fix the problem and needs a new transmission. For a $75,000 that is 4 months old (and has bene in the shop for the last 2 weeks) with only 4000 miles NOT happy. My prior GMC yukon XL never had issue for over 10 years. Never should have upgraded, don't recommend!

Keep Coming Back
Love this truck. Have owned Expeditions since '98. Ordered this new 2018 Expy and it's been a pleasure for the last 2 years. Loved everything about the redesign. Was slightly worried about buying the first year of a complete re-design, but have had zero problems. I miss the growl of my previous V8 but the performance of the turbo V6 has really surprised me. Feels like same or more power than previous V8 Expy - no doubt due to turbo and lighter aluminum parts. Technology is well done and connectivity (phone and CarPlay) is seamless. Ride is beautiful and it actually does MUCH better on mpg (avg 19-20) than my previous Expy (avg 16-17). On a highway trip, I've gotten as much as 24mpg! Just for variety, I was considering trying out the Tahoe now that they FINALLY got an independent rear...but probably not. Overall I love this truck. Dealer told me next redesign probably won't be til '23 or '24 so I'm considering a leftover '20 or a new '21 to tide me over. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Not for towing 7500 lbs
So, I bought 2019 expedition Max with heavy duty towing option. I live in Arizona and we have a 7500 lbs trailer. So, the 2019 Ford Expedition with ECOBOOST seemed like a great fit. We have 4 kids a 6 seaters is a minimum requirement for our tow vehicle. The Ford Expedition is great with the kids lots of room. The power was better than the 2013 Expedition, and I was excited. However, when towing the transmission temperature and water temperature both reached over 240. I never had this with the 2013 Expedition. I cannot believe the cooling capacity on the 2019 is so bad. I saw that the heavy duty towing package included a bigger radiator, but it is not enough. I would like to give you a view to share with others considering the 4th generation Ford Expedition. Additionally, in the first year the button that opens the tailgate was replaced twice and has failed again and all 4 shocks were replaced. Quality is very lacking

Pretty good, some small issues
Picked up a new '19 Expedition Platinum (previously had a '12 Yukon Denali) and overall it's been really good. The Auto High Beam headlights seem to react appropriately (dimming when it senses traffic is around it or a car is in front of me - not something my wife's Honda CRV does). A couple things that should have been included are not. For example. The car does not auto-lock when you walk away from it (the CRV does, and it took me a bit of internet searching to confirm it does not) - instead you have to press a button on the door handle or grab the FOB out of your pocket. There's no brake hold option when you stop at a light, I always considered this kind of a take it or leave it option, but after having had some back issues earlier this year and found it painful to hold the brake at a stop light, I found a new love for having a brake hold). Also, you can't get the outside temp on your instrument cluster, only within the Sync system. So if you're using CarPlay / Android Auto you gotta exit out (by finding/pressing the Ford Sync app within CarPlay) to see the external temp. The Rear Seat Entertainment manual is pretty light on details, it lists file formats supported, but nothing more specific than that (resolution, audio/etc). There's no information on the type of SD cards that are supported (Speed/Size/file system format/etc). Had to do some trial and error to get the RSE to recognize the media I put on the SD card) After I bought the car, I noticed the rear seat on the driver side seatbelt casing was broken. Took it back to the dealer and they tried to snap it together but couldn't. Apparently when the casing isn't 'together' you get a seatbelt error on the dash that doesn't go away. Ended up having to rubber band it together while the dealer orders the part. Thankfully the seatbelt mechanism still worked so I could take the Expy on the road trip. Finally, the (front) passenger seat is a lot less comfortable than the driver seat, maybe it's jut my vehicle, but it feels like the air bladder(s) are not pumped up - but the massaging seat function seems to work. I will be having the dealership look at it when I take it back in this week for the seatbelt casing replacement. Otherwise, it's a REALLY nice riding vehicle, decent gas milage (for it's size), and a ton of space for people/cargo.

Great car for the family
Last year we went on two vacations and on the first one we rented a Chevy Suburban and on the second one we rented a Ford Expedition MAX. We initially wanted the Suburban RST for its 420HP engine, but we also needed it to have 8 seats. In short, we couldn't find a 8 seater suburban within 300 miles of us so we went with the Ford Expedition MAX Platinum. It is perfect for going off-road to campsites and the 400HP engine is very powerful, and the transmission is so smooth shifting that you never notice the shifts. The 3rd row has lots of legroom, even for adults. The massage seats are very nice and comfortable, and we love the Apple Carplay feature. The 12 speaker sound system is amazing as well. The only thing I don't like is that the rear seat movie screens are very difficult to use. you have to pair them through the car's Bluetooth connection which is very annoying, but it works.
