Comfort, Power and Style
This is my 4th Ford. I think Ford has a very good quality product. This is a new milestone for me, my first automatic tranny Ford. I bought this truck used in Jan '04 for my wife to drive and it had only 15K miles on it and it was still under factory warranty. Currently: 43K miles. We have driven it on long trips (12 hours+) about 8 times and it makes the trip go so smoothly. The ride is very comfortable and is a real pleasure to drive. I have never had this vehicle leave my wife or me stranded. I LOVE the power and low end torque. I am very pleased with this vehicle. Maintenance: transmission flush $187; oil $360. Repairs: power mirror switch and bubbling paint on hood (warranty)
Tough as nails
I've owned this truck since new, and other then basic maintenance and a tune up at 100k, I've had no issues. Ive got the 4wd with the 5.4 and it's never let me down, fuel economy isn't great but it's pulling a 6700 pound vehicle. I also have a 2005 expedition that has the 5.4 3v. It has 145,000 and no issues at all. Ford builds a great vehicle. I plan on getting a 2016 with the ecoboost in the next few weeks.

My 4th Ford
This is a very functional SUV, with lots of creature comforts. Built sturdy, handles well on the open road, and lots of neat and innovative features. Only gripe is (WAS) the garbage General tires they put on as standard equipement; lasted 10K miles before first blowout. Do yourself a favor and put Michelins on and it drives like a dream.
Ford Expedition XLT 5.4L 4WD
I love this truck. Make sure you get the 5.4L, my brother-in-law has the same truck with the 4.6L and there's a big difference. Yes its a gas hog, but you should know that when you buy one and just accept it. Its comfortable, especially for trips with the dogs and family. Watch your speed cause this truck will move. I would purchase it all over again. No problems with it at all. Fits into our garage with room to spare.
Great
We bought our 2001 EB Expedition used in 2003, and it had about 20,000 miles on it at the time. Since then we replaced the impossible to balance Goodyear tires with Coopers (like Michelins, only cheaper), and the smooth ride increased 100%. In four years, the only issues we had were; the leveling system went out in the rear, and was fixed under warranty, and the backup sensors don't work from time to time. (They just beep continuously when in reverse) My wife's only complaint is that it drives like a truck (because it IS a truck) and gas mileage only averages about 14 mpg. but hey, you don't buy this car for the gas mileage.
