Used 2020 Ford Escape Consumer Reviews
Great small SUV
I’ve been looking for a new vehicle since March. I’ve driven all the small SUV’s including Rogue,Terrain,Equinox,RAV4 and others at least twice. I was down to the Rogue an Terrain. Some prices were ridiculous so I looked at a Corsair, which I loved but couldn’t afford. I then drove an Escape and it fit me perfect, interior was great and I leased it. It’s a lot smaller than my Grand Caravan, but it has a lot more room than some of the others I tried. It drives great, the 3 cylinder move the car really good. I’d recommend trying one before purchasing a vehicle in this category. After 2 years of ownership, I still feel the same about the Escape! I have had no problems with the vehicle. The only maintenance has been oil changes and tire rotations. One recall was handled during the last oil change. With gas prices skyrocketing, the Escape has been the car to have. I’ve averaged 27mpg around town and 32 on the highway. One trip the vehicle averaged 39mpg! It’s a very easy car to drive, and having been thru 2 winters, it goes great in the snow. I still recommend the Escape! After 2.7 years the Escape is still great! I’ve had no problems at all with this SUV! Oil changes and tire rotations is the only maintenance I’ve done on this car. I’d still recommend it to anyone! I’m liking it so much, that I don’t know whether I’ll turn it in or buy it at the end of the lease. I’m at 3.5 years now. I ended up buying out the lease because prices were crazy. Still getting great gas mileage around town in the 25-27mpg range. I’ve only got 24k milers on it. I got an extended 4 year warranty on the car through Ford. I recommend looking online for these because there are some dealers who discount these heavily!

Haven’t Made the First Payment Yet!
Transmission makes awful noises on the first drive of the day and is very erratic. A/C is squeaking because of a faulty air duct. My 2020 Ford Escape is already in the shop and won’t be ready until next week! This is odd for a vehicle with only 4K miles...

Never thought I would love a Hybrid
I love this car, I purchased the Titanium model with the panoramic roof and heads-up display. I researched for months and had narrowed down my choice to three vehicles from three auto makers but the look and new styling of the Ford Escape Hybrid in addition to the mpg made me go test drive that vehicle first. I purchased it the same day in the beautiful metallic black with black interior. I have gotten 48.5 to 49 mpg on several trips and average 38.7-39 mpg combined. The ride is smooth and the interior is comfortable with every accessory within easy reach. I didn't like the Adaptive Cruise Control at first but once I got use to it I love it and it is my go to for highway driving. Everything else is fantastic from the audio, the automatic high-beam lights, all the safety options, the alternate drive transmissions, the Apps available, the ease of Sync and the My Ford Pass. I was worried that as a Hybrid it would not have enough power to merge into traffic or for passing on the highway but that has not been an issue at all-it has enough pep to get the job done. With our last snow the AWD worked without a problem. I have noticed a rattling noise when I shut the passenger and back right door. Maybe a loose pan somewhere? Has anyone else had this problem? When I can get the car into the dealership I will have them check it out. My only complaint is that I wish the lower portion of the driver seat was able to be adjusted backward for short people. The edge of the seat hits the back of my knees at just the most uncomfortable spot and I have tried multiple adjustments to try to correct it or make it more comfortable. I just think my legs are too short for the length of the seat. It is a minor complaint, but on long trips where I get close to that 50 mpg mark, it is a distraction. I have already recommended this vehicle to so many people-it is a fantastic SUV and your budget will love the money you save on gas.

Lame
Bought brand new Ford Escape 2020 with 9 miles. At 200 miles oil pressure sensor failed just as I was merging into 60 mph traffic. Car in shop a week. Got it back and at 400 miles same issue. Luckily I was able to maneuver out of the way of semi truck safely. Car has been in shop for a month and needs a new engine. Extremely dissatisfied at Ford Motor Company lame response and lame car. Doesn't deserve one star but cannot submit review without it. Update. Car is still in the shop four months later. Parts on back order and FMC won't fairly replace or buyback. I'm extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. Update: Car still in the shop going on 8 months and parts on back order with no ETA. Had to get attorney. Ridiculous.

Lane CENTERING is a game changer. Safest feature.
I rented an Escape Limited for a 900 mile round trip that had lane CENTERING (not lane keep assist) with adaptive cruise control. It was almost self driving and was the least stressful and least tiring trip I have ever taken. Way more safe than any other car. I cannot understand why this level 2 autonomous feature is not more aggressively featured by professional reviewers.
