Tried other small SUV’ s and this on rocked!
The 2020 Ford Escape SEL is the best of all the other manufacturers like Nissan and Chevy. Great comfy ride and plenty of horsepower with the 2.0. Awesome in every way! Update 02/05/2023 Vehicle @ 26k miles. Vehicle Still running strong and no issues -

Get the 2.0 4 cyl
My old commuter 2016 Escape 1.6 with 110,000 miles died on a road trip in the middle of nowhere. Closest dealer wanted $6700.00 to fix transmission. So....ended up with a 2030 SE 1.5. It gets super mileage on the highway and copilot 360 is good. Smooth, quiet and enough power to do the job. Great highway car The situation is very different in town or suburban settings. The engine is coarse, rough, surges and vibrates at 1500 rpm or less. And trust me,this car tries really hard to keep revs below 1500. It is as crude as a lawn tractor. Spend a bit more and get the 2.0 4 cylinder. It's a completely different, much better car.

Unreliable hybrid
Update: my car, a 2020 Escape titanium hybrid was fine for one year. Then it went dead. They said it was the battery. I kept getting messages that I either has to turn off the car or turn it on. A second dealer couldn’t figure out what it meant. My dealer contacted Ford who was going to send a rep to figure out the problem. I waited 5 months, he never showed. It went dead again at night with no one around. It again had to be taken on a flatbed. Again they put in a new battery. I tried to contact someone up the line in management but could only get to customer service. If I wanted to get someone higher I had to write a letter to Ford and mail it. I thought about it for a few days, evaluated my driving habits and decided it was too unreliable and got rid of it. Never to but another Ford. My AMERICAN CARwas made in Mexico with a Spanish motor and all kind of foreign parts. I bought a 2023 Kia Niro hybrid and it handles and is more comfortable than the Escape. Also, as a point of interest Kia produces its car with parts made in Korea, including the steel, giving them total control of the whole production process. I have not a single product with this car. Plus I average about 52 mpg mostly driving. So much for Ford backing it’s products. THIS CAR WAS TRADED IN

Strong power and fuel economy.
I've had my 2020 Escape Titanium 2.0 Ecoboost AWD for 8 months. I test drove the 2020 CX-5 turbo and CR-V Touring turbo around the same time and there was one clear winner. The Escape has the most power, spacious passenger room, plenty of cargo space, the best transmission, decent interior, and some tech you can't find in the competitors while paying a reasonable price. The ride, handling, and steering have a good balance of sport yet is comfortable. The engine makes strong torque throughout the range and the shifts are where they need to be and not rushing to a higher gear like some transmissions. The fuel economy has been the most impressive part of vehicle for me. It is rated 23 city, 31 highway and 26 combined with the 2.0 turbo and AWD. Since it rolled off the assembly line, my lifetime mpgs are 28.0 mpg. The last 5,000 miles I've averaged close to 29 mpg. The mpg estimate in the gauge is close to what I calculate at the pump. I've only had one highway trip and I averaged 36 mpg (75 mph) on the first half of the trip (300 miles), and 33 mpg overall in 700 miles. I confirmed the 36 mpg at the pump. My only dislike is some of the interior materials could be better and my subwoofer still rattles despite being fixed. Definitely worth taking a test drive over some of the boring competitors, such as the RAV4 and CR-V.

Very Impressive
My family and I just upgraded from a 2014 Escape with the 2.0 turbo to the 2020 3cyl turbo and we are extremely happy! That absolutely packed this thing with functional technology and style! At first we were apprehensive about the smaller engine but the performance difference is barely noticeable from our last Escape. I’m sure the new 2.0 is much better but we are extremely happy with the 3cyl and the gas mileage. It is very comfortable and roomier then the previous model. We live in Colorado and have taken it up over the passes as well without a single issue and plenty of power to spare. Highly recommend the new Escape!
