What's the Beef?
I have read all 2010 reviews. As a retired engineer. I am bewildered with the negative reviews. I have not had one problem with my 2010 Edge. The vehicle is as advertised. The fuel mileage is spot on as advertised. The handling and ride is mid-sized SUV quality. The more time we spend in the car, the more things we find to like. And now the all important comment, my wife loves the car.
Brake problems
I bought my 2010 edge with 25000 miles on it. After a week, about 100 miles, I had to take it back and have the brake rotors turned because of the brake noise. I now have 50,000 miles on it and have replaced front rotors twice and back rotors once and have replaced brake pads tree times. When inspection is due in a couple of months I will need to replace front rotors and brake pads on the front and back. I drive mostly intown but I don't ride the brakes and I don't wait till the last minute to brake when coming to a stop sign. I have gone to a ford dealer and asked them if the edges had problems with brakes and of course they said no. I have a friend that worked at another dealer and he told me that he had put on brakes on a 2013 edge with 8000 miles on it. Seems brakes should last longer than this. I love the car otherwise, and am thinking of getting a new one if they have this problem fixed.

Leading Edge?
Traded in my 07 Maxima cause it was to low. I really like the ride height of the Edge and the noise level is about the same or better than the Maxima. I do miss some of the features, mostly the stereo. Ford really missed the mark on this one. The digital display is directly from the 80's, even though satellite radio equipped. Even Hyundai uses a LCD display instead of Green/Black read out. Overall I am pleased with the vehicle and will probably replace the radio asap.
We love our Edge
We bought the Edge because I wanted it. My wife didnÂt care at first, but after driving it a few times itÂs all she wants to drive. I really enjoy this vehicle and after a year IÂm still impressed every time I drive it. WeÂve taken two road trips and found it to be comfortable and reliable and got us through some deep snow and icy roads where other vehicles did not make it. So far weÂre very happy.
2010 Edge AWD Best Ford product
This is a great Ford product. I own a 2010 Ford Edge AWD. I bought it in 2013 with 30,000 miles for half the price of brand new. Sexy looking, beefy, sturdy, powerful & safe. Now problems: wheel bearing, brakes, transmission shifting (it's hunting for gears), the power transmission unit (PTU) is a serious eff-up on Ford's part. It's luxurious since I have the leather package, but a substitute is Lexus RX 350 which has amazing luxury and Toyota reliability. In this day n age, a car should easily last 200,000 miles and more if we look after it. The PTU in Ford Edge AWD is a ticking time bomb, wheel bearings, transmission, brakes too. The DURATEC engine is solid though. I love my Edge but unfortunately I will not buy another. Update April 13, 2022: it now has 110,000 miles. Still going strong. Changed the entire front suspension parts, one fuel injector failed, and one wheel bearing failed.
