Economical...I easily hit 30mpg highway and smooth ride all the way. Pop into sport mode and it kicks up a notch too. Plenty of room for riders. I got just about all features and worth it. Handles nicely, no complaints.

I bought a brand new 2020 SUV ecosport from Weber Ford and Granite City Illinois. I'm six foot tall and I have plenty of legroom I even had to move the seat up it's fantastic I love I'm surrounded by airbags in case somebody hits me or something does happen beautiful design lots of stuff on the interior I'm just so happy with this vehicle.

What a totally awesome little 4WD

If your like me you read every review 50 times before you pull the trigger. Rarely do these experts actually review from a consumers perspective just an artificial world of non comparables. Like many real consumers I'm in my late 50's and I've had at least 20 different cars in my life (probably more) and I can honestly say value for the dollar is superb. Nobody pays list, so take that off the table, getting a 2020 Ecosport titanium with 4WD and the 2 liter engine for around $22K is a steal. This is a fun little peppy car, ready to park, just enough cargo, leather heated seats and steering wheel, bang and olufsen sound system... Dare I go on! Anything comparable in the Japanese realm will push you well into the $30's. The Ford apple car play or Android auto is seamless. Is it a jaguar, land rover, BMW, or mercedes... Nope but that's not the buyer, and to be completely honest, it won't eat you alive for service like those manufacturers. If you want a really good runabout that's fun, looks unique and is reasonable on gas... You just read about it!

This vehicle gets terrible press and I don't get it. I have the Eco Sport with 2.0 and AWD SE. Love the heated seats, sunroof, and the infotainment is great. AWD is a must in the NW and it goes everywhere without issue. Handles great and fits anywhere you'd need to park. Turns on a dime and has great visibility. Super happy with this purchase and would buy one again in a heartbeat. With all the discounts it was less expensive than most entry cars. I've been averaging 28 mpg with 50/50 split of hwy and city driving. No it won't win any races and it is not a luxury suv but it is totally worth a look and the money.

I have been buying cars for over 55 years, some good, some bad. With all the new technology out these days, who can complain. The SE with all its features, 33.5 mpg, what I think is a great ride & cargo space which is perfect, gives me Nothing to complain about! If you want a nice well built compact SUV...this it! By the way, this has just as good or better power as a 4 cylinder! Have had for about a year now and am getting 36 miles per gallon . Still as nice as the first day we got it.

EcoSport Titanium

I keep reading "expert" reviews that describe this car as not being worth the money. That might be true if you were paying MSRP but I don't know of anyone that is. If you buy last years model (2020 at the beginning of 2021) you will get fantastic rebates. I got a Titanium loaded with every option AWD for under 20k. I would have to say that there are only 3 negatives to this car. One is the excessive use of hard plastics on the interior, the gas mileage and the fact that the engine is a little lethargic. On the flip side, the Bang and Olufsen stereo in the Titanium is outstanding, the ride is pretty good and storage is good. When you compare what you ACTUALLY pay for what you get then it is an outstanding value. To get another brand of sub compact AWD suv you would spend at least another 5or 6K after they give all of their discounts.

Have a 2018 with 120 thousand miles on it with zero problems. Like it so much we went out and bought a 2020 four wheel drive. We use these for city driving. Our Expedition we use for long trips. These are perfect for driving around town and I can get better fuel Mika I’ve then being listed. When I do go on the highway short trips I’m getting 35. Have 35 thousand miles on the 2020 eco sport and it’s doing great zero problems and it’s very good in snow.

Great 4WD for the price

I've been comparing compact SUVs. I've only driven the Trax and Venue..... and neither are better riding or looking than the Ecosport. I've been reading in many reviews that there's better cars for the same price, that's absolutely false! With Fords $5500 and additional $500 incentives every other Small SUV is $3K or more than the Ecosport. I have a the "S" model with 4WD and 2.0L power plant (if you can call it that) my price was $16,040 (plates and tax additional). With the Ford owner's points system I got $220 in my account that I can use for any service work like an oil change. I do hate all the electronic gizmo garbage, the start-stop crap all the lights coming on when I open a door and the fact that Ford keeps track of all your info through the Ford pass program. I'll right another review after I put 5K miles on it. Well, it's been 1 year with 2600 miles and I still believe the Ecosport was the best deal. I still hate the start/stop crap, the tranny shifting constantly and the way every light on the car comes on when you open the door! The gas mileage is OK, and the ride is a little stiff, but it travels just fine on the highway, especially when using cruise control (32mpg). I'm not saying it's better than the Encore, Trax or other small SUV's, but it's thousands less. The 2.0L is just barely OK, I would never get the 1.0L They should have made the start/stop option to be off and then if you want to use it you would have to turn it on instead of having to turn it off every time you start your car! 02/2023 update: Buying a new car in 2020 was the perfect time, to buy the same car in 21/22/23 you had to pay full MSRP or nearly it! I still hate the start/stop feature. The tranny upshifts to quick and doesn't downshift quick enough. I'm still getting 30-32mpg on the highway. The cellphone feature is hands free, voice activated and easy to setup. If the Ecosport trade in value stays solid, it was a win-win deal for me. Just went over 8K miles, everything is the same. I'm happy I bought this car when I did!

2020 SE 4x4 2.0. I really do like this little SUV, just wish it had better gas mileage. Cargo space is just okay and the backseats are cramped if you have passengers. The AWD works great in the snow and I love the ride hight. Not horrible for a cheap vehicle. After rebates mine was 18k

It's cute, no real storage in the vehicle, glove box, console, etc. Engine is noisy and it struggles on inclines. Brakes are noisy and the ride is loud and rough.Very little cargo space. Gas mileage is lower than I expected. The good things, I love the cloth heated seats, I like the button to disable the annoying stop/start feature, 4x4 feature is nice, backup camera is good because there are lots of blindspots, the touchscreen is big, nice sounding speakers. I have less than 1000 miles on the car, it is a 2020, SE trim. *Update, at 4,000 the tailpipe is already starting to rust, maybe that's normal, I'm not sure. This car has to work really hard to get up a hill. Sometimes there is a big delay when shifting from reverse to drivr.Just an unimpressive vehicle overall, you can get something better for the same amount of money.

Very nice ride. Kinda a noisy engine and lacking in some power. But what do you expect it’s a 4 banger. Other than that it’s a nice little ride. For the size the fuel economy could be better. But having all wheel /4x4 makes up for it. The seats are pretty comfortable and the interior is surprisingly much larger than the outside makes it look. It also has a decent amount of luggage space for the size of the vehicle.

I'm currently in the process of enacting the Ohio Lemon Law's for this car. I've had it since November 2019 and have had TWO transmissions fully rebuilt into the car in the past year. Do not buy unless you want a headache and lawsuit on your hands.

This is my 2nd Ford and how I didn't learn my lesson with the first one, I haven't a clue. 2020 Ford Ecosport Titanium 2.0. I put a lot of mileage on cars bc of my job. I have had this car about 11 months and it started having issues just over 36,000. It's in the shop as I write this. They are saying it's the canister purge valve. Here we go. I had the same issue on the 2018 Ford Focus at the same mileage. It was replaced 3 times until I traded it for this model. Never again, absolutely not, will I ever, ever, purchase another Ford. I researched this issue and Ford recalled about 10 yrs worth of models and covered it under warranty. But not my focus and I am waiting to hear back from the dealer if it's covered on the ecosport. I had even called Ford about this issue with the focus and they wouldn't do anything. They will cover it once they have to keep replacing it but the first fail is on your dime. Also, gas mileage sucks. I was barely getting 20 miles to the gallon. Now it's up to 24 only bc I'm using premium and adding fuel injector cleaner. But who can afford premium these days. Also, this is a subcompact suv, tall or big family, be prepared to squeeze in and out of this vehicle. No trunk space. Maybe 2 small pieces of luggage. Don't get sucked it with the rebate they may offer. Nothing but a headache with these cars.

We downsized from a F150 4x4 and bought a EcoSport AWD with 2.0 Duratec. The end of year discounts put this vehicle in a acceptable price for the features. Very happy with it so far and we get around 28Mpg which is on the high end of estimate from EPA for combined. If I had to find something to take points off its the 6 speed trans which can be lazy to downshift sometimes. But we have noticed that with vehicles because manufactures are trying to deliver best EPA estimates. Seems they all upshift early and downshift late.

ENGINE TEMP ISSUES

1. 2 weeks after getting car kept getting warning message regarding engine temperature, car would go into reduced power mode while I was in traffic 2. Took a road trip was climbing steep grade, speed limit was 75. Received a warning g regarding engine coolant high temp. Received this 3 times after stopping to let things cool down a bit. Had driven less then 300 miles. I use the car for work keep engine running 10 hours or more in 115 degrees no problem. 3. Drove from Phoenix to Tucson, looking at houses, on the way back stopped at Rest Area while getting back on highway (again 75 mile an hour speed limit. Was getting up to speed when the Engine Coolant High temp warning came on, this time engine went into Reduced Power mode. Check engine light came on. Obviously this is an unreliable/unsafe vehicle at speeds over 65. It's now at the dealer with a 2 week wait before they even get around to looking at it.

Engine Failure....Ford just says sorry

I have a 2020 Ford EcoSport SE. Not long after receiving notice of the recall about the engine oil pump tensioner arm, it broke. The notice says the vehicle is ok to continue driving and they will notify when parts are ready. Well the vehicle is now undrivable and all I can get from Ford is "Sorry for the inconvenience". Spent an entire day making calls trying to find a solution. "Sorry for the inconvenience" does not fix a thing. They will not cover the tow or even say what needs to be done for the repair. I have to wait at least a month but maybe as many as 3 months to find a solution. Who has that kind of time to go without transportation?? The repair estimate I was given by the ford dealership was $9,000. Ford expects me to pay this out of pocket and save the receipts for a reimbursement but they don't even know what qualifications are needed for that to happen. So reimbursement is not guaranteed. Per their service rep over the phone. So I have an overpriced lawn ornament right now with an apology. Great job Ford!

The gas consumption is not different from our Escape Titanium, thinking ecosport might be a better value we traded her Escape. BIG MISTAKE! We cannot wait to get out of this lease.

Have 44000 miles on it...so far needed a new transfer case, head gasket, rear axle seal, and catalytic converter. The only good thing it had been covered under warranty with no issues. It does drive great thru snow, avg 27 mpg, has great heated seats and steering wheel, the climate controls work great, Infotainment system works great. Car is half paid for, and getting rid of it. Lost faith in the vehicle and can't find a reason to continue paying on it. Probably never a Ford again. Try Honda or Toyota or Subaru

I bought my 2020 ecosport titanium AWD last fall with 10000kms on it. It was a dealer service vehicle so I purchased it at a steeply discounted price. I’ve now put 5500 more kilometres on it without issue. The biggest complaint I have with it is the tiny gas tank. I feel like I am constantly filling it up but I do average about 500kms a week in it. Second issue is a noisy rear end especially on the passenger side. I will have to have it checked out. I do a fair amount of highway driving and it’s fine on the hills and highway and great in the snow.

I have the SES trim on my 2020 Ford EcoSport which I bought as a leftover in 2021 at a very fair discounted price before the chip shortage began. Car has all the features and gas mileage I wanted. I believe the EcoSport is a good car, drives well and the air conditioner can cool off the car fast in the summertime. A well equipped car that is a pleasure to drive and handles the road in any weather.

The fuel efficiency is horrible. I use premium to get the maximum out of the car and it is usually at 20.4 mpg! We got it as a commuter car for 45 minute drive and it hasn't ever got close to the 27/29 and 80% or more of the drive is highway. We also wanted remote start which is what we were told it had. Turns out it has just the app not a fob start which is what we said we wanted. The app barely works. It regularly does not start and takes usually 2-3 minutes for it to start when it does work. My app has told me it is in deep sleep mode after sitting for less than an hour and won't start until it is started with a key. I got this car for my handicap husband and it is pointless when he has to physically go out and start the car go back into work or come back into the house and then go back out when he leaves. We have been dissatisfied since day one and I have been in contact with the dealership and have got no where. Do not get this car... Do not get a Ford or you will be disappointed. The hatch would be better if it had an inside handle so there wouldn't be hand prints all over the glass or car. I thought I would like the side opening but I don't. If it's raining I have to wait to unload my groceries because there is no protection from the rain while standing at the back. Pros: It has a decent sound system but doesn't get loud enough for road noise. Inside looks nice but anything new should. That's all I can think of.

I am a Senior Citizen... (so that's what they say) I had my mind set on several different cars and SUVs. As I walked thru the showroom floor there it was. My search ended the vehicle was just right for me and my husband having problems getting in and out of vehicles. large enough, great height, maneuverable seats and space for that trip you the dog and (grumpy) gonna take.

We got the SES with 4 cylinder AWD. It is very nice looking vehicle. My spouse liked the look of this compact SUV. But even with 166 horse power engine,it behaves very weak and the ride is rough. Seats are not very comfortable for long rides. Disappointing over all. We hope it last longer without any major repairs

The 2020 EcoSport I recently signed a lease for is really nice. This car has no problem getting through the snow. Handles really well and has most of the bells and whistles..

Great on icy/slick roads. Comfortable bucket seats in front. Back is not very spacious. Built in USB ports, heated seats, multi-color cargo lighting, leather interior

So if this helps anyone on vehicle selection then good. I traded my 2016 Ford Focus hatchback which I loved other than getting the transmission rebuilt twice in less than 60,000 miles, but I ended up hopeful with this 2020 ecosport S second day of ownership, I am so disappointed and disgusted with it, I hate this car and because once I tried to make it my own as in trying to find a place to mount the phone, there is no where convenient. They have this big stupid screen protruding from the dash and glad I have the smaller screen, the radio doesn't connect to my phone like the focus did I have to go through a series of button pushing to get the music to go from phone to car. Gas mileage sucks no cargo room, just an idea of how little cargo room my focus had twice as much as the so called SUV which is sad. It's a cheap vehicle and it shows, Ford has lost a very loyal customer after this because now all fords have "auto stop/start" which is where your engine shuts off when you stop like at a stop sign, engine shuts off and kills the power to everything till you let your foot off the brake and if you're in the wrong lane and stopped needing to make a lane change, well you can't turn the steering wheel while you're stopped, this alone is why I won't buy another new Ford, it's a stupid idea to save a few seconds of gas but yet it's using the battery and starter more, think about it, you start your car drive till you get to the destination but now if there's 10 stop signs from A to B that's a total of 11 times you're starting your vehicle. So Ford you really need to fire your over paid idea morons and focus on making a more reliable vehicle that will last like they used to rather that stupid pointless gadgets that make no sense.

Thank God this was a one week rental. We reserved a mid-size SUV, i have no idea how this vehicle fit that description. It barely fit 1 luggage and 3 backpacks. Horrible ride, so stiff and uncomfortable and terrible pick up. I had to give my sin the front passenger seat because his legs wouldn’t fit in back seat and he is only 5’8” and in the front seats his shoulders and my husbands almost touched. Not a safe feel. I feel so bad for people who have to drive this long term.

The best thing about this car is the sound system and Sync 3. The engine is anemic (to put it mildly), lacking many modern safety features, it looks strange, and is a big disappointment that Ford even seeks this. I do not recommend.

I have a 2020 Ford Ecosport S 2liter 4WD. As I am retired, I need a small SUV that can go soft roading, gets good gas mileage (26-30) and can tow 2000 pounds when the most of the others in the class are not rated to tow,It is fun to drive, easy to park, easy to maneuver off road . It also can be bought for under $20000 after incentives that the others don't have.

If you like terrible fuel economy, a rough ride similar to a 70’s era Chevy Vega, high brake noise, underpowered, overtaxed engine, a transmission that never shifts smoothly, and pretty much sucks, this car is for you... My Yugo had a better ride...

Don't believe all the so-called "experts." We purchased a 2020 Ecosport from Avis Car Sales and couldn't be happier. We live atop an 800 high with a 16 degree incline. The Ecosport flies up the hill better than we have owned in the 33 years we have lived here. It is a comfortable ride with every possible option. Would certainly consider another one when it's time to retire our second vehicle.

previously had a 2018 jeep wrangler which has same size gas tank as the eco sport and a v6.The jeep would easily get between 600 to 700km to the tank.We have now gone through 4 tanks on the brand new eco sport ses model and have not been able to get over 500km to the tank.Do not recommend this model to anyone.

Despite its size, the EcoSport has plenty of zip! Good gas mileage, no repairs needed at this time. I'm pretty small, so I'm very comfortable, but my 6' husband is a bit cramped. Overall, great little car!
