Worst car I've ever owned.

I bought my 2018 EcoSport three years ago and have had absolutely nothing but problems with it, starting just after its first oil change, when it started leaking oil. I took it to the dealership, and they said it was a manufacturing defect, but they could fix it right then and there. Okay. A few months later, at around 15,000 miles, the engine needed to be replaced because the oil pump (?? I think that's what they said) wasn't working properly, and it ruined the engine. It took OVER THREE MONTHS for me to get my car back. Also shortly after I bought it, it started making a "boom" sound when I'd open the door. Turns out it's the stereo system. It resets itself to AM. I've come to understand that every time I hear the "boom," I'll need to change it back to FM. This happens probably around 25% of the time I enter my car. About a year and a half of ownership, it started leaking coolant. A couple of months ago I started it up the electrical system was haywire. No power steering, no displays on the dash, and yet for some reason, the radio wouldn't turn off. They said it was something that needed to be reset. Why? I've never had anything on any other car I owned that needed to be reset like that. Just a few days ago I started my car and it was running rough. I turned it off and restarted it, and it ran fine. I thought maybe it was a fluke, or even my imagination, but it happened again a couple more times. At one point, the engine light came on. I decided to take it to have it looked at, but changed my mind when the day I was going to take it in, it suddenly ran like it was supposed to and the engine light went off. I figured it was something that worked itself out. I was wrong. Today I left for work and it started rough again. Okay, that's it. I decided I've had enough and am going to turn it in at the dealership I got it from. I got in to leave work, and it wouldn't start. Or I should say it wouldn't STAY started. It would sputter for a couple of seconds and die. I tried several times before I finally got it to go anywhere. Fortunately I made it home, but I'm taking it in tomorrow and seeing what kind of deal I can get from the dealership that sold me this steaming pile of crap.

I traded my Ford Fusion in as the mileage was just getting too high, but I am a loyal ford owner. This car looks nice or " cute" as my friends say. It is small inside and everything is very plastic. Sound system is so-so and the gas mileage is fair. I find the ' turn off" at stop to be annoying and this car does not accelerate well. However, once you do get going- it is easy to find yourself going fast. I wanted a vehicle that will handle the sudden pooling of rain on FL roads-so will see. I miss the Fusion so if you are in the market -give that a try..On the plus side, the rear door opens well with the side way door and is easier to get things out. There is room to put more stuff in the car if you take the time to reconfigure the seats and movable shelf. UPDATE: I traded the car in. I only got 4000 for it. No body damage and low mileage. The vehicle was just too small and it was work to drive it. Did not drive well on slick roads.

I own 2018 for ecosport s. I dont even get 15mpg in city with 2.0 and they claim 25. Brakes started making squealing noise and 1100 miles. They fixed first time 2nd time at 1900 miles oh it's common not problem and Ford denied repairs. Transmission dont shift right either. Biggest mistake to buy Ford. Stay away.

Got stuck with this car for 5 days. While I can understand why some people like this for economy I would pass on ever buying one. The visibility through the front windshield is narrow. The handling and general ride feel is not good (IMO) Had to google info to find out how to open the rear door. Also, IMO, this is one ugly car. The ugliness almost rises to the level of the infamous Pontiac Aztec.
