Used 2000 Ford Contour SVT Consumer Reviews
Don't Buy One
I have had the car for about a year now, I paid $3750, since I got it I have had to put nearly $3000 in to it. I had to replace the motor before 100,000 miles, pathetic. Ford, fix of repair daily, has become very true with this Ford. I won't touch a Ford in years to come. If you like money don't buy one, because if you do you will not have any money left. I don't have any money left and it's in the shop for the second time this week. Please spare yourselves the headache.
Ford did well, but not well enough
The original OEM tires are definately a problem in areas where snow falls. The Bridgstone KDW's are not rated for snow. Recommend getting all season tires. Handling and performance were good, but the interior quality left much to be desired. Back seats are incompatible with several infant car seats that we have (ie Evenflo; Century; Brix). A good car for one who needs four doors, some power and no kids.

Very Good and fun to drive
The SVT Contour's shock valving was designed to work in conjunction with the bigger tires, with better handling numbers being claimed on both the slalom and skidpad. We know that SVT deemed the changes important enough to make. I think it is a veri good car.
