More miles for the buck!
Tsk, tsk, Edmund's pans the Grand Caravan as outdated. Give me a break! It was so cutting edge when it was released others are still catching up. Stow n'Go? The game changer. Sure, you could pay nearly twice as much for a Sienna or Odyssey, (and Edmund's thinks you should?) but why? We upgraded our 2008 Town and Country for a 2019 Grand Caravan SXT and found the updates refreshing and intuitive. Almost a full 1/3 more horsepower, and yet better gas mileage. And our SXT has beautiful leather seats, bluetooth, auto sliding doors, remote start, and plenty of other features for a no-brainer low price. You know, you can't please everyone, but oh, how this pleases us.

Surprisingly good
Rented this van for a road trip from Orange County California to the Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce National Parks, a road trip coming in at 1450 miles total. There were three adult passengers plus myself along with our luggage. Didn't expect to enjoy the 2019 Grand Caravan much, just wanted a vehicle that would be comfortable on an extended trip and accept all of our assorted baggage. Ended up enjoying just about everything about it. It was a good driver with an assuring road feel including nice taut steering and capable brakes. Myself and my passengers were all very comfortable on the entire journey in the four bucket seats provided. Found the center mounted video controls easy to use, including navigation and Sirius satellite radio, even though I've never owned a car with this feature. Averaged a very respectable 28 mpg through most of the trip. On that note, about the only thing I found to be a little lacking was the tall gearing (I'm sure to yield the good gas mileage). As a result, on steep grades you definitely have to put your foot into it (step on the gas) to get it to downshift when it needs to. Overall though, it's a very capable ride. I've been a foreign car owner for my entire life including British, Japanese, and German makes, never an American made one. Whenever I've driven domestic vehicles I've always felt they came up short against their foreign competition. The Grand Caravan was a surprisingly good experience, one that has shifted my attitude toward the better for cars built in the good old USA.

Minivans aren't just for soccer moms with kids
Aging individuals are finding that the minivan is invaluable if you need to travel with adaptive medical equipment such as a wheelchair and oxygen tanks. After a large search of the minivan market, the Stow n Go seats plus the reliable 6 speed automatic 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT beat out the Chrysler Pacifica, Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. The finishes in the SXT delivered a heated steering wheel, heated seats as well as leather upholstery -- all very desirable features in our search. All in all, the 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan has exceeded our expectation after one week of ownership. With the passing of my husband recently, I now find myself with 2 vehicles, a beloved Honda CR-V and the 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. In spite of my attachment and loyalty to the SUV, I have found myself driving the van almost exclusively over the last month and I love it! I like to haul "stuff" and the van is perfect! The stow n go seats are easy to use. More importantly, I LOVE driving the van! It's never too late to discover what you've been missing!

Very good vehicle
plenty of power and excellent steering make this a good driving experience. Good quality materials inside make it feel better than expected. So far no problems and it returns good mpg especially on trips. I don't need or want every bit of technology, this vehicle does what it is supposed to do. Love the stow'n'go seats. A shame the elites have made minivans unfashionable....I love mine. .. UPDATE still own this vehicle still love it. It has been reliable and trouble free. Been on several long trips .... it does it all... highly recommend UPDATE 2 still have this vehicle ...trouble free after 8 years only done front brakes once...that's it. Regular oil changes. The stow and go is very useful ...I hope they make the feature available on the Chrysler Voyager ....not everyone wants or needs a $40,000+ van but needs that feature. All in all love the Dodge Grand Caravan ...great performance, utility and value UPDATE 2 ..... auto has not required anything but maintenance and werar items EXCELLENT experience

Rely on your own experience over bad reviews
This is our second caravan and trust me, at ten grand or more below the competition, it’s a great value. Plenty of power for a mini van, plenty of room for the family, plenty of storage below and behind the seats, plenty of room for those of us who aren’t tiny, and plenty of savings overall.

Dodge Grand Caravan vs Toyota Seina
First of all, we reserved a Chrysler Pacifica and Budget failed to provide. They offered a price cut for a Dodge Grand Caravan. We were OK with that.....We were pleasantly surprised. My wife took her family from Memphis, TN to Phoenix, AZ with low stress/drama. The car is so intuitive and easy to drive she actually liked it better than the car she has driven since 2011. I flew to Arizona to meet up with her and take over the wheel. I was amazed at the overall functionality of the vehicle. Visibility is 100%!!! We averaged over 27 mpg over 4,000 miles of traveling (5 passengers with luggage). The only problem was the transmission which for me wasn't an issue at all. It has a severe tendency to NOT downshift to maintain speed when the cruise control is on so it loses up to 10mph before it downshifts. However, the 6 speed auto has a manual shift mode. On our long I-40 stretch from Arizona to Tennessee I used the cruise control (of course). The PCM seamed reluctant to downshift to maintain speed (saving gas). The dash mounted shifter is 2" from your right hand and with a flick of your finger you can downshift a gear to maintain your cruise control speed flawlessly/seaminglessly. It was so smooth all my passengers fell asleep......Fast forward 2 weeks we went on another trip and PURPOSELY reserved another Dodge Caravan. We ended up with a Toyota Siena. I was actually excited about this, but was horribly disappointed. The Toyota has electric steering assist compared to the Dodge's old school hydraulic. The Dodge's steering was WAY better!! The Dodge we rented came with leather and navigation for less money than the Toyota. The Yota only had 1 USB port!! Really??? It had cloth seats, no navigation, and a HORRIBLE 8 speed that was constantly hunting/changing gears. The Yota had no easily manual shift mode to cancel out the vehicle's inadequate PCM to select the right gear. It was total driving misery! Even worse was the throttle. It is no linear. The light turns green and you give normal throttle input to accelerate and you barely move. Everyone is blowing your doors off at this point so you increase throttle input. That's when all the sudden all hell breaks looks and this Yota becomes RACE CAR and anyone drinking a cappuccino or latte s wearing it in their lap There's no in between. You are either getting your doors blown off or you are off to the races. The Dodge Grand Caravan had very linear throttle inputs and you could easily predict the upshifts and downshifts. If you are driving to provide comfort to your passengers by not throwing them around in their seats the Dodge Grand Caravan blows the Toyota Siena out of the water for less money/

Great no - nonsense Van, extremely comfortable
Ok its not the latest design, and the entertainment system is a bit 2010, but apart from that, its a likeable and willing travel companion, the engine is very eager and gives surprising performance, I wonder if its the one they use in the Charger, certainly is powerful and gives great acceleration for joining the interstate. the seats, heated, like the steering wheel are comfortable and I had no aches or pains after hours of driving. If you need a vehicle this size, I can recommend Dodge.

Nice and new and no kids too.
I’m a jaguar guy but renting vans is always good! I gave up to grow up. I play guitar for a living so the practical part is great and it’s comfortable, never a shortage of room. Can it last with good care? I hope so. No kids no dogs. 🎸

Very Very Nice Van, Especially for the Money
The Dodge Grand Caravan may not have all of the latest bells and whistles but it offers plenty and is an excellent van for the money. It certainly meets my needs. Smooth quiet ride, comfortable seats, plenty of room and versatility (you can't beat the Stow-N-Go rear seats). Professional reviewers seem to pick on it. The Edmunds "professional" review says that "This is a van that hasn't been redesigned in a decade". Oh come on. Definitely not true. I traded in a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan for a 2019. The 2019 is MUCH MUCH better. I had a lot of issues with the 2010 (like the annual brake job). The 2019 has a different engine, different brakes, a different dash, a different interior, a different grill, a different tail gate and some different suspension components. The 2019 also gets much better mileage than the 2010 did. It's definitely not the same van. If you're in the market for a van you should at least check it out. Unfortunately, 2020 is the last year that they are making the Dodge Grand Caravan.

No nonsense road warrior
Quiet, powerful, and massive storage, this van really ate up the miles. Console storage has great multiple compartments. Navigation system is easy to use and non intrusive. I loved this system on an Italian Jeep too. USB charged extremely slowly and iPhone audio ran through Bluetooth instead of the USB. Handsfree Bluetooth phone connection is a horrible voice driven interface that almost makes using it more dangerous. Second row floor storage is great with or without the seats, but requires front seats to be moved all the way up. Rental car fleets should keep these things forever.

Love the van
If you don’t like all of the technology aka push buttons don’t look at this van. Love it
Great Hauler
Cavernous room esp. with all the seats stowed. I believe one could haul 4X8;s in it. We leave the rear seats up, along with one second row seat. Front seats could be better. Instrument panel and controls are clear. Great frontal visibility. Quiet at Interstate speeds. Back-up camera a plus. Didn't come with a Nav system but a Garmin unit fixed that. Adequate power available. Big plus for me is that it didn't come with a "rubber band" CVT Tranny."

Find a Grand Caravan GT - best van you can buy!
In my opinion, the Grand Caravan GT is the best van out there. The GT model has the performance suspension, blacked out lights, black sporty rims, all black leather interior, 9 speaker stereo system with navigation and Bluetooth. It's a fully loaded van that is 10-15 grand less than the Pacifica with similar options and it doesn't have the soccer mom look. 2018-2020 Grand Caravan GT's are sold as a fleet vehicles in USA. You will have to buy pre-owned.

Protected my family in an accident
Myself and 5 family members rented this vehicle while on vacation, and were rear ended at a red light by a distracted driver who was driving at approximately 70mph. While we were injured in the impact, if it weren't for the side airbags deploying, and the sturdiness of the vehicle we would have likely had a fatality. This vans safety features saved our lives.

Stow-and-go game changer!
We have used this car twice now as a rental for extended road trips with 5, yes 5, kids. I have to say that the amount of space for the middle seat in the 3rd row is a bit tight. But, with that said it has all the things that really makes a mom life easy. The automatic door, reverse camera, potential auto start, stow-and-go seats, and reasonable pricing make life flipping amazing. I love it so much from our trips that I'm looking to purchase one to replace my current vehicle. Also my favorite tire guy says that when it comes to eating tires, the Caravan goes through less tires then other Makes.
Super value
With leather seats it is truly luxurious and meets all needs very well. 7 passengers, huge cargo area. All power everything. Drives high, super visability, plenty of power, rides great. Good mpg.

58,000 miles and going strong
This is my wife's van and it is a luxury van with a lot of bells and whistles. It has been in 2 accidents 1 was a bad pothole and curb encounter and blown tire with loss of control and had all the suspension repaired and winter tread tire on the passenger side and rear bumper cover replaced. Next we had the passenger side rear abs sensor replaced under my Allstate extended vehicle protection plan for $50.00 deductible on a $300.00 Dodge dealer bill. Next was a broken emergency front in cab cable, also replaced by extended warranty. Next on July 31, 2024 2nd accident a deer was trapped on a dual highway at night by jersey barriers and ran into my front driver side head light and $8,600.00 of damage. Left fender, hood, grill, bumper all left side lights, engine support and radiator brackets AC components all replaced and front of vehicle painted by Dodge Dealership body shop. However the vehicle had no leaks and was totally drive able except for no turn signal on drivers side. 2025 had van oil and filter and state inspection replaced rear rotors with NAPA coated rotors and new pads. Good oil and factory filters, good tires, air cabin filter changes, I use top tier gas (Shell) and add fuel injector cleaner 3 time a year. I have a free Dodge Factory extended 10 year warranty on my sliding door locks. The GPS in this van is the best I have ever used. I wish they still made the Dodge grand Caravan's. I enjoy the high seat in the van it helps you see the traffic better and allows you to react better to bad drivers. We have a second 2013 Dodge grand Caravan SXT vehicle and it performs well, we purchased it with around 13,000 miles.

If all roadways were smooth...
..this would be/is the perfect vehicle for carpool and cargo. Drives on ice, snow and slush pretty well. If you’re over 6ft tall it might be a little cramped. E85 gas is cheaper and gives you more HP but less mpg. Just take it slow over potholes and curbs.

Excellent value for money
A comrtable, roomy and reliable vehicle. It is the perfect vehicle if you large dogs. With the second row folded into the floor, it still seats five adults in comfort and leaves plenty of room for two dogs on the floor in front of the seats. The low entry via the sliding doors is especially good for older dogs. And there is another 30 cubic feet of useable cargo space behind the rear seats. It has none of the modern so-called driver aids that the critics seem to love but these are often more annoying than useful, and hardly necessary if you actually know how to drive. It does not sprint away from the lights but it has plenty of power for highway passing. A great road-trip vehicle..

Mediocre
At around 2000km my minivan's transmission hard shifted for some reason. I find if i have to accellerate quickly to change lanes or get away from a sketchy situation, the transmission doesnt respond all that well sometimes. The econ feature is rarely useful unless youre in a perfect situation with light traffic, no slowing down, just constant speed and relatively flat terrain. Its more of a hassle or hazard to use it in most situations incase you do need to speed up quickly. At 8000 km, the images on the dashboard seem almost burned in. The stow and go is basically the redeeming feature. From the front seats it definitely feels like a luxourious ride with leather seats and decent stereo

Very poor customer service
I had a 2018 dodge grand caravan had trouble with automatic doors the dealer could not find the problem so I finally traded the car for a 2019 grand caravan. I have a physical problem that I need the automatic doors for and can not get anyone to care the dealership nor dodge. So now with the same old issues happening with this 2019 as with the 2018 and again I don't know and not even interested in trying to figure it out. The problem happened the other day in the dealership service department I had the head of the service department and he just stood there saying there was no errors showing up he did not come over to see that the door was then acting up. He just kept saying no errors and can't get it to happen and it was acting up right in front of him but he would not even walk over to look at it acting up. I have begged for them to get dodge involved to try to figure it out but just keep getting the run around and no help at all I lost $6000.00 on the other one now they are telling me to just trade this one in and loose another $6000.00. Dodge just does not care sell you the car and then will not try to help when a problem is there.

Competent noisy hauler
Offers lots of room with comfortable seating for up to 7 people, very disappointed in the ride, the suspension is noisy in the rear, in both my new 2019 and pre owned 2018 Grand Caravans the rear torsion bar, and or rear shocks offer you a very noisy knocking sound as the car rides

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' !!!
June 2023 update; Just returned from a 4400 mile van camping trip from FL to WI by way of OK. Excellent driving experience. Ordered a Aluminet cover for the van to reduce the suns heat on the van while camping as shade is not always available. Love my 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan...dealer has kept the maintenance up nicely. I'm in love with my new 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan! !! 2023 Update; didn't think it could happen...I'm more in love with this van now than when I first bought it. So versitile to use, comfortable and dependable. I trust Murray Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of Starke for regular maintenance and their 21 point inspection to keep me Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' !!!

OUTDATED
as a former owner of a 2006 toyota sienna which i drove for 13 years, i gotta' say i hope the pacifica is a better car than the grand caravan. dealer had to rent one when my audi was in for service. only drove 100 miles but here are first impressions; pros: infotainment system; better than audi; easy to operate. acceleration ok remote start included. cons: very noisy engine under acceleration. steering very, very stiff. accelerator touchy. in 3 days i could not get a smooth start from stop. trans not a smooth shifter. downshifting produced no effect until reaching 3rd gear. must go very slowly down the gears. trans does not revert to drive mode after downshifting to a stop. must manually row up the gears. otherwise holds in the lowest gear selected. radio controls on the rear of steering wheel spokes where paddle shifters are on other cars took time to acclimate to.

Never Again
Buyer Beware! My 2019 Caravan, has sliding doors that randomly shut on people, a lift gate that has closed on my head, rear heat randomly comes on, and sliding door randomly makes clicking noise. I'm told they can't do anything until it shoots a code. Really?? Now it's overheating, they suggest replacing cooling fan, to the tune of $800. But they're not sure that's the problem. The transmission shifts so hard, you'd think that van was 15 years old. They told me it's performing within normal specifications. What a nightmare. I've always owned a Dodge, but this will be my last!

Rough riding basic van
We have these at work to haul crews. They are the roughest riding vehicle. No rear suspension to speak of. You feel every little bump. My 3/4 truck rides smoother than these vans.
Stay away
After buying, was told after 100,000 miles the transmission goes out, at 101,000 miles sure enough the transmission is out, the piece of junk is in my driveway
Compfort?
I've rented this van on several occasions, and have to say that the fronts seats are the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced. But the van served it's purpose, and has great cargo capacity, which is way I rented it.

Poor finish and materials
While very roomy and adjustable with fold-in-the-floor seating, this minivan lacks a lot in finish and materials. Very bare-bones finish. I especially hated the bright, glaring red and white instrument control panels and the fact that the bolts holding the body together are clearly visible in the wheel wells. Also did not like that the seat attachments stick up in the floor quite a bit when the seats are in their folded-down position. Did not handle well, was soft on steering and braking. Pass this one by, there are much better minivans.

Rebuilt title 2019 Dodge Caravan
I just bought this van with a rebuilt title, allegedly had only cosmetic damage and had 40,000 miles so seemed like a good deal. Time will tell. My first impression is that it will serve my purposes, but I'm moving from a 2007 Chrysler Town & Country and one thing I don't like about the 2019 are the seats. They are either leather or vinyl but not cloth so they are harder and colder that the seats in my old van. I'm also getting used to having the shift lever on the dash, not necessarily a fan, but you have to roll with the changes, and I don't like the plastic key (need to get another and it's expensive to get them programmed), but otherwise, it's reasonably quiet, it's powerful, it seems to be good on gas, and I need to learn what the buttons are for because it didn't come with an owner's manual, but I've ordered one. All in all, it's very similar to my older van which was extremely reliable and I still have second thoughts about changing, but it's 15-16 years old with 160,000 miles and we'll probably be taking some long trips and this will be the perfect vehicle to do that. Overall after about 2 weeks, I'm satisfied.

Where to charge my phone?
The seats recline nicely BUT.... where am I expected to charge my phone in the back seat? All the ports are in the front. Leaving 5 people without access to charging their electronics. In 2019 this is unacceptable.
The worst car ever
This car is absolutely awful. This car is the worst thing for humanity since Ebola. Completely uncomfortable. I hate it so much with a passion. This is the second time I have rented this car and both times have been completely terrible. The second row seats made my young children have back pain. No cushioning at all and completely unacceptable. The whole car is completely lacking in decor and features. I have never seen a more ugly interior in my life. I personally believe a golf cart is a nicer ride than this car. It cannot take off without screeching at you. The second row doors choose when they like to close not when you want them to close. It’s insane to me that this car is still on the market considering how poorly it’s made.

Dodge Grand Caravan
This Dodge Van is a tried and true dinosaur. No longer made in the USA? but I read it is in Canada. The Chrysler Voyager, the poor mans Pacifica, took its place in the USA. I owned the 35th anniversary edition. The Pentastar engine tried and true reliable, a non interference engine with a timing chain no rubber belt like Honda. The only thing STUPID about this engine is having to remove the intake to change spark plugs at 100k. Oh and the PLASTIC oil filter housing. There is an after market metal version. A front end collision won't fair well given all the PLASTIC components up front and cheap tin like body panels so stay out of accidents. There is a spot for a spare tire but they stopped giving you one instead you get a blow up box. I bought the spare, cover, winch and tools and installed it myself. Lack of trunk space? if you needed it like I did, I removed the second row stow and go seats I did not need or want giving me tons of storage. A great super affordable van, extremely popular yet Dodge decided to move it to Canada. Why do you keep making these stupid mistakes with such a gold mine. Just like the station wagon, the former gold mine. N to uncommon for these vans to go 300k miles or more

Powerful Reliable Comfort Packed
Heated seats and steering wheel. Stow and go allows for great versatility. I can fit all three grandkids in car seats and have room for their parents. The roof racks allowed my husband to carry full sheets of plywood for a home project, saving us 80 bucks on delivery. It has plenty of pep and power when I need it. We purchased this for the 3rd row seating, with only practicality in mind but love the extras. I fell in love my Grand Caravan. Plus, I love how much money stayed in MY pocket, versus going into the dealer's.
