Used 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan C/V 4dr Ext Minivan (3.3L 6cyl 4A) Consumer Reviews
289000 miles and still running
I bought my caravan 4 years ago with 116k miles , only replaced a strut , an alternator brakes and tires. Still runs like new , cold a/c and seems It will pass the 300k mile mark easy. I am the second owner , parts are cheap , I work at LKQ , a low mile engine cost about $650 a tranny $350.00 , I seen other ford , Nissan , Toyota and chevy minivans give up with a lot less miles than mine, The vast majority of caravans that we have in our yards are because they are totaled in a major wreck. The other brands land here because they break down and parts are very expensive.

AC problems
I purchased the vehicle used with 9000 miles. As soon as the warranty ran out we had a power steering fluid leak. An after warranty recall was done on the rear evaporator of the AC system and that unit was replaced. The dealer returned the vehicle last spring stating the system to be working. Summer came and the unit would not blow cold air. Now the front receiver dryer needs replacement to the tune of $489.54. If the rear evaporator was flawed then it is safe to say Dodge equipped this vehicle with an inferior quality AC system.

PictureX
Good vision from front seats. Easy to maintain, through out. Handling is fun and easy to manouver. Front wheels tend to slip easy on wet pavement, especially on move out from stop. I put special traction tires on front that helps sliping a lot. 3rd row seats are uncomfortable for long rides, tilt back excessive. Smooth shifting. storage space is good.
Best used vehicle I ever owned..
I have a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan... It has 216,000+ miles and the only thing that has ever been done is regular maintenance and new tires as needed.. Would love to purchase another one that will last this long. The body is starting to rust away.. but the motor and transmission just keeps on going!!! It is our 'to go" to vehicle and you can haul anything in it.. including a big man recliner and a Maytag wringer washer has been hauled in ours.
