I bought this car in November of 2013 new off the dealers showroom floor. Damiano's in Clark Sunnit PA. I now have 86,000 mile on it ad have been through three Pocono winters. I still love y car. First the AWD handles awesome in the snow and poor weather. AWD crimes on at temps under 40. The handling in the snow is beyond what I hoped for. My car came with the 300HP motor. It has tons of power for a 6cyl. The added Paddle SHifters are a great plus and mix with the 8 speed tranny. I am averaging 26 MPG when not in winter mode. Last last winter I averaged 22 MPG. This is with the Factory 20's that came on. It matched with Hancok tires. This car goes where you want it to go with no body roll or rear slide. The handling is awesome. I I'd a lot of research prior to buying this and bought it because they had stopped manufacturing the RT Max when I bought this one and could not find a 5.7. I'm glad I did. This car has a great 8. Touch screen, a Beats Audio system that blows my old Bose system away. The Red leather interior is comfortable and very roomy. The heated steering wheel and heated/cooling seats are awesome! Think heated seats are great? Having Air conditioned seats are off the hook when it's 90 outside. After 3 years you start to tire of a car. Not this one. I will keep this even when I need another to tore and keep. Funny thing is this car has more HP than my 73 Road Runner from the factory. Add a Cool Air intake and performance exhaust and you are running as much HP as the Hemi 5.7. If you are looking for a reliable sporty solid car with all the luxuries availible with T he time, this is it. When in Sport Mode Hang on, plenty of power to snap back your head. The Cons: The 8 speed takes a while to get use to. The lower gears tend to over rev in auto mode. The climate control system is touchy. Works great in auto. In manual mode it can be all or nothing with the heat. I have had it to the dealer twice for this. It is a computer issue. UPDAT: 7 years later. Awesome car. No major issues only regular maintenance. Possibly the best commuter car made. Handles great, looks good and runs strong. Money well worth spent.

2014 dodge Charger RT 100th Anni Edition Review

I have a 2014 Dodge Charger RT 100th Anniversary edition. It gets a lot of looks with the deep red color and the styling is great. The car is just straight up fast. It will put out that 400bhp anytime you need it or just want to. The interior is spacious, high in tech and the heated seats and steering wheel will spoil you. I really like the charger but there are some issues too. I have had electrical issues with my car. Some are annoying and some are very concerning. I have had the radio just turn off to the headlights turning off while driving. Once the entire car just shut down while on the freeway. Chrysler has been trying to find the issue but haven't been able to locate it yet.

Picked up this car in September 2015 (so almost 4 years ago as I write this) as the second owner. I was looking for something to replace my '05 Mustang GT, and my Charger was a great choice. The 5.7 Hemi is stout and proven (it was on Ward's 10 best engines list for like 6 years) and sounds fantastic. The car has MDS which is a system that shuts down one bank of cylinders effectively turning it into a 4-cylinder when cruising. If you don't engage sport mode (which causes the transmission to hold gears longer and shift harder and noticeably tightens the steering feel) and you don't have a lead foot, you can eke out MPG in the low 20s. If you don't drive like Grandma when she thinks Christ is watching, you'll get closer to 12 or 13 MPG (the car weighs 4,400 lbs and the sound of the Hemi encourages you be on the gas early and often). A 6th gear would've gone a long way in the fuel economy department, but the 5-speed NAG 2 gets the job done. The metal paddle shifters (down on the left and up on the right) feel nice and are responsive enough to be fun to use. Handling is good for a car this big. It leans a bit in aggressive turns, but the steering is direct and communicates the road nicely. The steering is hydraulically assisted rather than electrically assisted like in most newer cars, but it feels nice, though it may be on the the heavy side for some. The long wheelbase and well-tuned suspension keep it composed over bumps. The long wheelbase and robust power also mean you can glide through turns using the gas pedal to steer :) The interior is feature rich and nicely appointed at this trim level. The red leather sport seats with perforated suede inserts are heated and ventilated. The steering wheel and rear seats are heated too. Uconnect is nice, and the car has an aux jack, USB port, SD card slot, CD and DVD player, and Bluetooth. The Beats branded stereo sounds pretty good. The screen is big and responsive. Between the physical knobs and buttons and the touch screen, there are three or four ways to change the climate settings. There's a little screen between the gauges that can display all kinds of info from real time fuel economy to various temperature readings to tire pressure and even the navigation. The navigation system has a TON of configurability and displays a huge amount of info. You can choose from a number of Dodge vehicles to represent you on the screen as you navigate around. You can change the colors of the map by changing the theme (each of which is named after a city). There are screens that show your altitude, the temperature, your current speed, your highest recorded speed, and your coordinates. The map even displays 3D models of notable buildings around you as you drive past. There are some maintenance quirks worth mentioning. This engine uses 2 spark plugs per cylinder for a total of 16. Also, the manual says it takes 7 quarts of oil, but I had to put in 8 quarts before it read as full on the dipstick. Oh, and it runs on 89 octane. Never had a car that specifically liked mid-grade before, but this one does. Now on to the trouble spots. The interior had a couple of spots that would squeak and rattle when I first got the car. I think the previous owner may have lived in an exceptionally bumpy part of town (there are many of those here in Houston), because since I've had it, the sounds have diminished to the point that I only hear squeaking from one corner of the dash when going over large or multiple sustained bumps. There was an issue with the alternator (car went through 4 of them in two and a half years) which was resolved as part of a recall, but it definitely seemed like Chrysler wasn't in a hurry to roll out the fix. The GPS started pestering me to update the map a while back (haven't done it) and has since decided to stop giving me directions anywhere, as the detailed maps are unavailable I guess because they're out of date. Overall this thing is great. It's comfortable and composed at any speed and is ready to go basically as fast as you went whenever you feel like it. It's a big highway cruiser with an entertaining amount of power that's agile enough to be fun off the highway too. The interior still looks good after 70,000+ miles and the Hemi is as eager as ever.

I purchased a 2014 AWD RT MAX with 80,000 miles on it and has been nothing but flawless since my purchase 2 years ago.It comes equipped with everything but the kitchen sink. This 370 horsepower beauty comes with heated and cooled leather seats, sunroof, adaptive cruise control, back up camera,Beats by Dre sound system,8.4 inch touch screen which is like having a little t.v in your car(it actually plays movies while the cars in park)and much more.Very spacious and comfortable.I have had leg cramps much times in other cars on long drives...not in this one, love the all black leather interior very smooth. As far as gas mileage it gets 15 in the city 23 on the highway and 5.6 gallons per 100 miles which is not that great but not bad for a 3500 pound car I spend about 40 bucks to fill her up,only mid-grade which is recommend. This thing rides so smooth and handles Great for such a big car,so fun to drive. As far as reliability I have had zero issues for two years just some new brakes and oil changes faithfully. This car is bulletproof as far as the AWD system and MDS it actually programs the car by weather and road conditions...If it snows or rains the car automatically switches to AWD which is pretty impressive. The AWD does a great job keeping this beast of a car on the pavement. It also comes with a 5 speed auto stick which shifts gears pretty smooth and quick it also takes off eco mode and keeps all cylinders firing while driving in auto stick. While the RT is far from slow its not super fast either for all you speed demons out there I would recommend the 392 engine which has 470 horsepower. The RT has a little bit of a relay off the line and hesitates here and there but still packs a punch.I have heard some bad things about dodge...good things also so I was hesitant on my purchase but have no regrets at all I absolutely love my car it is a blast to drive and has been very reliable. For all you camaro and mustang drivers...you don't know what your missing.Hope I was helpful. And NO I don't work for Dodge.

I think the 2014 Charger is a beautiful car. I have the 100th Anniv. SXT and was really looking forward to getting this car. The fun started at 2500 miles when the 8 speed transmission started bogging out, lurching forward, not downshifting etc...... Took it to Starr Motors in Suffolk, Va. twice and they did nothing to correct the tranny problems. The service manager emailed me saying "The transmission makes some noise and you want a whole new tranmission!". First off, a brand new car with 2500 miles shouldn't be having such problems and I never asked for a new tranmission, I did want it fixed though. Starr Motors failed to honor the warranty and the service manager had a crap attitude. A year and a half later and the transmission is still a problem. At 13000 miles the radio stopped working (can't turn it on sometimes, or can't turn it off, the temp doesn't adjust, can't adjust vent setting, heated seats come on by themselves). I had friends in town and the heated seats came on during a road trip in the middle of July and there was nothing I could do about it. Had to go to a store an buy a pile of towels for everybody to sit on. The touch screen doesn't work anymore. The dealership owner said "Well, you can't please everybody". I'm sure his other customers would love to have such problems. They grabbed my money and laughed all the way to the bank. I lost days from work sitting at the dealership only for them to tell me nothing is wrong with the tranny (really????). Its a documented issue with many complaints about the 8 speed transmission but Dodge is too ignorant to address the issue as is the bottom of the barrel dealer. I have 17000 miles on this overgrown paperweight and can't wait for the lease to end. Dodge will then dump it on a lot and sell it to another unsuspecting buyer and then tell THEM nothing's wrong with it. Never in a million years would I consider owning another POS Dodge vehicle. Biggest mistake of my car buying history. NEVER AGAIN! **After the lease ended, I dumped the car st the dealership and never looked back. I hear so many people complain about Dodge/Jeep vehicles. Don't know how they stay in business...

This is one good looking vehicle. It handles well and the acceleration is fantastic. The controls are handy and logical. The USB port for connecting your iPod works well and allows you to control the iPod from the radio controls. So far the gas mileage is pretty good, but I have not taken any long trips. If you get black on black, you should know that people may mistake you for an unmarked police car and slow down until they figure out you are just Joe Citizen. I have actually had complete strangers comment on how awesome the car looks.

Hemi with AWD, what's not to love!

10 years and we still love our charger! It started giving a heavy "clunk" when shifting from reverse to drive about 6 months ago, especially when cold, and the dealer just replaced the transmission with a rebuilt one. Luckily we purchased a lifetime Mopar repair contract when new so it only cost $100! Other than that it's still going strong, no regrets! My wife asked about getting a Charger, and I knew owners loved them but I was surprised to see that reliability complaints were few and far between. So I agreed to look at one and I am so glad that we did! After 18 months the car now has 18K trouble free miles with two repairs: 1) the sunroof lost its mind after about a year - it refused to work until it was reset and reprogrammed by a dealer and 2) it came with a cracked panel in the trunk that was replaced by the dealer. We purchased the AWD version because I personally would not consider a RWD car (which most Chargers are) in Chicago where we live. AWD works great in snow and we feel very secure driving it in the worst weather. It switches into AWD when the temp goes below the upper 30s and the mileage drops in the winter - we get 2-3 mpg less in the winter vs summer. I do wish it had a switch to disable AWD but it does not. The AWD R/T has a softer suspension and different tires than the standard R/T. We like it this way because it is a family car for us and everyone is comfortable in the car. AWD also makes "burnouts" pretty much impossible, but if you are looking for acceleration there is no substitute for four wheels putting Hemi power on the road! The car is really fun and comfortable to drive in any weather. Last comment: 2014 was the final year for the AWD Hemi R/T so 2014 is the year to get if you want this model. Review update: 1/2022 75,000 miles and nearly 8 years later we still have our Charger and love it even more! It's been super reliable and only recently needed an engine oil pressure sensor, the only repair since new! We just had the transmission fluid and filter changed because we have no plans to replace it. If you can find a nice one, then go ahead and buy it!

I always wanted this car and envied people driving it. It always looked so semetrical and powerful with attention to luxury that drive me to buying it. When I purchased my vehicle it was everything I ever wanted. Only thing is I never got to enjoy the vehicle. I was wasting more money fixing the vehicle than modding it. It wouldn't last more than an average of 6 months until it needed another trip to the mechanic for major issues. In overall it did great in delivering that masculine classy look style I was going for. Just wasn't a very reliable vehicle I would say. Which was saddening because I was so disappointed I had to trade it in.

Its been a great car for 3 years, very quick, agile, comfortable, but obviously not old school marshmallow, lol,I've owned lots of cars over many years and this one is the best one yet I'm partial to mopar, but have had other's I truly liked from gm,ford,(,least favorite)and foreign=often overrated, overpriced, and people run the used ones in to the ground, and then still expect to dollar, no thanks, anyway this car is great I've had it to 115 m.p.h.and feels like 70,very stable, and quiet, highly recommend this car, never left me stranded, but remember, they all need maintenance, and care,I personally only run full synthetic oil,and change it every 7-8k miles, and don't even have to add any in between, I'm at 62k,now and running strong.

Found out AWD, bought in a week

Always admired the V8 Chargers from a distance, living in New England rear wheel drive for an every day car, especially one with 385 ft/lbs of torque, is not really logical. Then through browsing through Edmunds, I discovered they made an AWD up until 2014. I found one with just under 30k at a local garage, went and left with it on Saturday. I have loved every minute inside the car, the ride is not too stiff, but certainly not land yacht like. You can feel the power of the engine, but she settles in nicely at legal speeds. She's definitely heavy, and you can feel her, but she's a sedan the heft feels like it belongs with the car (you are not going to get everything for $23k, give me the Hemi and the 370 horses with it and I am happy). I am not a thin man, and sometimes getting in the car is a bit difficult (head on the frame), I would have liked a little bit easier to read analog gauges and the quality of the display is not fantastic, but I bought this car for the engine, and it delivers on my main purchasing point. And she looks beautiful in my driveway.

I have driven my Black on Black Charger for 30000 miles. Great performance. The gas mileage I am getting on my mixed commute is about 21 MPG. On the trips it can range from 26-28 depending on the speed, wind and terrain. The car is a rocket. Depending on what state I am in, folks get out of the way. Car wants to run at 80 MPH. With a top speed of 140 MPH, I wish I was back assigned back in Germany so I could drive this car as designed. Car is very comfortable at highway speeds. Car is a bit too stiff at low speeds on rough roads but that to be expected. I have driven the 2016 Charger RT. Compared to the 2014, 2016 is a more refined with the 8 speed transmission. However, the 2014 has just the right amount of muscle car feel, sound, and revs. Finally, the 2014 just looks better. Everyone knows exactly what your are driving from the side, front and rear.

Bought mine new had a warning light that consistently popped up indicating "Battery saver mode" when this came on systems like heated mirrors and defrosters shut off because alternator was not adequately charging battery . Car was always back and forth to the shop for this and Dodge customer care acted as if they never heard of this issue and just kept telling me to take it back to the shop . So the cure for this is pull over to the side of the road on a snow packed highway with traffic behind you and shut your $30,000 dollar car off then turn it back on so your defrosters will work again . Dodge never fixed this nor did they replace the car even after their own tech identified the symptoms and indicated you would have to shut it off and reset it in traffic ... Is this ok for a brand new thirty thousand dollar car ? ...... Thanks for nothing Dodge

We bought our Charger SXT used March 2016 with 30k miles It was 99% perfect condition. The performance of the 3.6ltr V6 is astounding! We had a true dual exhaust put on it and that really let the engine breath. There is a noticeable power increase, also the average MPG has increased almost 3 MPG. That is if I can keep my foot out of it! The car is so much fun drive and very comfortable if you want to take a long trip. We are both retired and when we’re in the car it makes us feel young again. We both love the touchscreen and the Bluetooth. I added a spoiler, LED strips under the headlights and Charger quarter panel graphics/stripe. The only issues that we’ve had. 1- The oil pressure warning light came. The sending switch went out. 2- The AC was slow to switch vent positions. The body control module had to be reprogrammed with an update. The only options I wish it had was paddle shifters, cooled seats, upgraded sound system.

To add the icing to the cake an 8.4-inch touchscreen display And BI-Xenon headlights and Race-Track style taillights which are LED, Yes there is more, Optional Beats Audio, My charger came with a ALPINE AUTO SYSTEM which was very good. Overall this vehicle was AWESOME coming from a Teenager! but the Reliability Reputation is not so good. 8/10.

Well to start off I owned a 2006 dodge charger rt Daytona Top Banana number 814 of 4000. It also had a signature on the airbag of "THE KING" Richard Petty (the original). It was a beautiful car very fast and incredibly clean all around inside and out, including the engine compartment. The signature was gotten by the original owner she went to Boothbay Harbor in Maine, Nascar was having an event there and she got THE KING to sign it. I got it in 2015 and it had about 60000 miles on the odometer (she only drove it during the summer). I just sold it to a friend (the odometer read about 125000 miles on it) he will bring it back to where it should be. Just little things that a 14 year old car will have breakdown, I was gonna do it myself but dont have the time or the money at this moment. So I ended up getting a 2014 dodge charger rt pitch black, it looks completely awesome. I really like the way the chargers look from 2006 to 2014 after that they look ugly to me. But anyway this car is so much more refined more hp 370 compared with 350 for the Daytona. The inside door handles light up, alpine stereo system, heated steering wheel, also have remote start, push button start. I have had this car less than a week it had 44068 miles on the odometer. I'm gonna have a friend do an inspection on it for me, I don't trust dealerships. It rides so smoothly, I love the actual feel you get from driving a vehicle you know can toast just about anything on the road. I'm really excited to modify it, muffler system and headers, plus a cai probably k/n. It will be a fun time with my Black Beauty.

When I owned the challenger, I drove it like it had a hemi, on occasion. The charger 5.7 hemi, has so far gotten better gas milage than my 3.6 pentastar in the challenger. Handling is great, with regards to the size. Space is awesome. The 8.5 media screen is awesome. Acceleration is great.

This was posted a few years back: A/C Climate controls and venting system has to be the worse of any manufacturer. Half the time they don't function properly, so pick your season, be patient, and once your selection. I had to finally have the Vent Modules replaced @ $400 per side. They are now working properly and I only had to do the driver side as there was no temperature control so defroster wouldn't work on the driver side, passenger side was fine. Regular maintenance is key. Done brakes twice, recall work, but no major repairs since owning the car. Head Light replacement is a Nightmare and labor intense is you do it, and expensive if you pay someone to do it for you. Definitely a great purchase and is now paid off.

Worst car I have ever owned

Worst car ever, 2nd charger owned, 1st one died at 20k miles, transmission blew up, 2nd one, 2014 has horrible off gas odor that makes me sick and the car impossible to drive. Chrysler says the car is "operating as designed' and that I am out of luck. Do yourself a favor and buy literally anything else but Dodge.

After driving the car for 9 months now, I've been able to greatly assess the vehicle. What it lacks in acceleration it makes up in top speed. It's a very quick muscle car. My car is fairly "factory" on the mechanical side with the exception of an aftermarket K&N Air intake system. This simply added 2 or 3 horse power off the line and a more muscle sound from under the hood. The car has great handling on the high end, since being a bit more heavy than usual sedans, while the car is going slower. It's a heavy car (5100 lbs not including the gas and passengers) so you feel it greatly when trying to maneuver quickly. Let's just say I smoked a V8 Mustang with all the bells and whistles.

Anybody buying a Dodge These days should know that the only thing Dodge cares about is the horsepower war instead they should be concerned with the reliability of their vehicles I will never buy another one

I purchased my 2014 Charger R/T new and just sold it (1/31/22). Wonderful car and surprisingly good on gas for a V8. I averaged 18 mpg. Still ran perfect until the day I sold it.

After almost 2 years of ownership I am very happy for what I upgraded. Now I see and feel why old school muscle car people love this and (the Challenger). I love it too. I moved away from owning a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer LT which I still own and love as my 1st but this car is a "Beast" I even named my car that. I live in Chicago, IL and so I was originally looking for a newer model with AWD but sadly they discontinued it after 2015 with the Hemi motor. That sucks. Reason why I found out the 2014 was the last with a Hemi and AWD. 4 out of 5 stars because despite that these are powerful cars there are issues of the Check Engine light going on especially when riding hard and fast which I do against people with overrated Ford Mustangs and Chevy Cameros which I hate the most. .Even people with Honda Civics, Accords and Toyota Corollas how try to challenge this car. I blew them so easily going around in circles. Going back the check engine light went on twice because despite that I changed the oil with full synthetic it burns up right away. Another issue was the starter. Thank goodness I bought an OEM starter with warranty. Thus the 4 out of 5 stars. Its great but not perfect. I am also not a loyal brand person but the owning a Dodge with A hemi has made me a believer to stick with Dodge.

I had the pleasure of driving this car for 5 years. She’s a beast! This beauty turns heads constantly. She is sleek, beautiful and her power sounds like low deep thunder. My model had every feature known. Heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel. Sunroof, the best back up camera quality around. She had racing paddles on the steering wheel, could spin the tires in any gear and truly drove like a dream.

My 2014 dodge charger sxt plus is a good car . With nearly 82,000 miles it is doing great . Fixed a oil cooler which is a problem on the 3.6 engine . A air conditioning senor and normal things like tires and brakes . Well designed car and is built solid . Love my charger and people say ever day that's a pretty car . With my 20 inch sumotomo tires and my foss chrome wheels handles great. This is my second charger and very happy with this car . Way to go dodge !!

I bought my first 2014 SXT charger off the dealer floor and a day later it caught on fire due to electrical issue but in good faith from dealer replace it with another charger off the dealer floor and ever since then knock on wood only had basic issues with car but if anybody does decide to buy one it worth it if you take care.
