This car is excellent and a perfect fit for me - a young adult commuting 45 minutes to work. Great gas mileage, stylish, comfortable, and roomy. I'd highly recommend it!

I wanted to Like It, but...

I really wanted to like this car. I thought it could be the "Cavalier" of today, but it doesn't come close. Upon first glance of the car, it's nice. You know it's a compact economical crossover. You get inside and the interior looks nice! The seat fabric is great, the plastic for the dash and interior bits is nicely styled and put together, and it has little interesting quirks inside. But as you look closer, things start to get aggravating. There is no rear visibility in this thing. Just think of the whole back end as 1 giant blind spot. This does have a rear camera, but I don't like those because when you're backing up, your eyes have to focus differently from side mirror, to camera, to side mirror, and it's easy to feel like you just can't se everything. Likewise, while driving forward, the rear pillar causes such a huge blind spot that you cannot look behind you to make sure the driver side is clear for a lane change. You can only use the mirror. Also, in regards to the interior, the rear cargo area isn't as big as it seems. I can currently store more stuff in the trunk area of my '05 Corolla than the cargo area for the Trax. It's a bit disappointing but understandable. Moving on to the exterior, the tall stance of the car makes you feel happy. You have a little SUV, until you pull up to a parking stone. The front end of this car is so low, you will scrape it and pull off the front air deflector if you pull all the way up to a parking stone. The gas mileage on this car shows as 24mpg city, and they weren't kidding. This car does not deviate. You get 24mg. On mixed driving, you still get 24 according to the dash. I have a feeling that the computer is really good at managing this engine. The shifting on this car is horrible. The car is slow to accelerate and the first couple gear changes are quite choppy. I feel this transmission to be a bit jerky and choppy overall. Mechanical Failures: Apparently, this engine is known for EVAP failures. I've already had to replace the vent solenoid for the unit I'm currently writing about. I've also noticed seepage coming from the water pump area so I suspect that will need to be replaced soon. Under the hood, away from the water pump, you can already see rust on the body panels. Planned obsolescence, I'm sure, but this car is only 4 years old with 60,000 miles on it. When all is said and done, I would not recommend this car to anybody. If they had no choice left, I would tell them to take public transportation.

Love all the compartments!

Bought this based on an ad for lots of compartments up front for the driver. Love love this feature. Not too happy with acceleration nor gas mileage. Storage is small but knew that up front. Not too happy with the touch radio system. Would prefer the “old fashion way”. Would like a second arm rest up front for the passenger.

Don't spend the money on this make and model. Do your homework. I had a pushy salesman and the interior quality is all plastic, marks up and the seats do not even adjust much. New tires cost a fortune because they are a hard size to find. I couldn't drive it in the snow. I had no traction and the car went off the road many times. No room in back seat area. You get a better ride and room in a KIA. Should have shopped. Buyer beware.

Possibly the worst car ever made

The seats are really uncomfortable, giving back pain on a 20 minute drive. The door FLEW OPEN on the highway and the airbag sign constantly came off, meaning is was dubious that it actually worked. I hate this stupid car. It felt really cheap too. Do yourself a favor and don't get it.
