Used 2013 Chevrolet Spark 2LT 4dr Hatchback (1.2L 4cyl 5M) Consumer Reviews
140k and still zipping along
I bought this car new, and am consistently amazed about how much I am still getting for my money. Aside from maintenance, this car has been to the shop twice in 140,000 miles. I have had to pay only for one new front bake caliper and once to recharge the AC. Both of these happened after six years and 100k miles. (I bought this after a VW Tiguan timing chain failed and destroyed the engine at 90k. If the wind blew the wrong way, the engine light in that car came on. I wanted something that repair shops could actually fix). I don't think I could ever go back to paying for premium gas or premium maintenance requirements. My Spark runs through the city all week long (it can fit anywhere btw) and then up the highway at at a comfortable 80mph, then through the mountains every weekend. The stick shift makes it feel like you are zipping through the world in a fun go-cart. Well done Chevy, this was my first and I will be a loyal customer going forward. The only problem is, I don't see this little car ever stopping.

It cannot get out of it's own way.
The A/C is less effective than having the windows down. Good luck getting up any hills, this vehicle has no torque. After getting up any hills the vehicle smells like rotten eggs to pay you back for pushing it too hard, which the dealership will blame on the gas. It will rev up and accelerate without the gas being depressed. At least the keys stay in the ignition while it does this. Sometimes it will not start, maybe its an issue with the onstar. Did I mention the A/C sucks. Gas mileage is horrible for the size of the car and engine. A Nissan Altima returns higher mpg on the highway. This car is on recall again, exploding airbags.
