Used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Consumer Reviews
Run away from Chevrolet!
Buyer Beware - Worst new vehicle experience of my lifetime -Hare Chevrolet sold me a new 2023 Silverado in January of 2023. It soon became clear the infotainment system did not function properly as all sound, regardless of source, cuts out intermittently. This was a known issue at the time (as I found out later), yet I was not provided with that information and therefore unable to make an informed decision regarding the purchase. After filing a case with Chevrolet, I was eventually told that the issue was software related, that a "fix" would be written by Q3 or Q4 of 2023, and that there was nothing Chevrolet was going to do about it. Fast forward to May of 2024; still no fix. Attempts by Hare Chevrolet to correct the issue have only made it worse. They now refuse to call me back or provide any information as to if, or when, I may anticipate the corrective action. The back seats have now been removed and placed back. The truck dashboard has been pulled apart on numerous occasions. Some trim pieces had to be replaced due to damage caused by the seemingly careless nature of the service, and now most of it looks like it was reinstalled by an unqualified technician. The Hare Chevrolet sales team, the Hare Chevrolet service department, and Chevrolet itself have all failed to provide a standard of service that any consumer would find to be acceptable. Don't walk away from Hare Chevrolet, run.

Worst car purchase ever
Bought a 2023 LTZ Duramax brand new about a year ago and it's been nothing but trouble since. The check engine light popped on during the first drive and I'm kicking myself for not returning it at that point. Since then I've lost count of how many times it's been in the shop and what's been replaced. The latest week long visit it had to the service department resulted in a new DEF and EGR valve and one day after driving that, it dumped all of its DEF fluid and I was stuck on the highway. Back to the shop, and a few days later, it's leaking DEF and smoke is now pouring from the hood. Stay away from this thing.

2023 Silverado LT 2.7 4x4 Bought new in December 2023 6000 miles radio lost all audio (LT trim 13" screen) software updated by dealer 8900 miles, rough idle. Relearn cam shaft sensors and oil change 10,570 miles Motor blew up!! yep, wiped main bearigs 25 days in shop replaced motor, turbo and oil lines. They broke my grill replacing motor, still waiting for that to arrive. 14000 miles battery completely dead, towed in. They said it was a bad battery 14500 miles battery dead again, replaced it and said tailgate switch was bad, shorting out battery. 14500 miles I come to dealer to pick up the truck, new tailgate switch DOESNT WORK 14600 miles return to dealer to have another tailgate latch put in 14900 miles BATTERY DEAD AGIAN!!! Towed back to dealer, No short "found" but switch replaced again. Scan says driver door switch has current draw, code cleared. 15100 miles DEAD BATTERY AGAIN!!!! I knew it was coming this time. I was outside cutting my grass and noticed the tailgate opening. I closed it and it opened again. Next day battery was dead. Towed back again. This time they replaced tailgate bezel and buttons. Also ordered door latch for driver door as it is showing a code again. Truck is still in the shop. I have made 8 payments on it and am ready to get rid of it. Enough is enough. GM quality has gone so far downhill.....and I have been a die hard Chevy guy for 40 years. Sad.

ZR2 will take you almost anywhere
This is an amazing off road truck. I use it for work. As an agronomist, I need to check crops in all types of weather on dirt roads, unmaintained lanes, tall weeds, sand dunes, driving across tilled fields, and center pivot tracks. This truck can handle mud, steep ditches, as well as sand. The Goodyear Wrangler MT 33” tires work fantastic off road, yet are quiet on freeway. The full front skid plate protects against all types of objects. Seats are very comfortable, plenty of room inside! Technology, cameras are first class. Front and rear lockers really get you out of jams! The new Multimatic shocks really adjust well to tough off road conditions. The 6.2L engine has plenty of power! No issues whatsoever in first 2000 miles. Disadvantages are no front assist park, fuel economy (however not much lower than my 5.3L in Sierra I traded off for ZR2). Chevy needs to have an 30 gallon gas tank! 10 speed automatic transmission is smooth!! Also getting in and out for shorter people can be challenging so running boards/assist steps a must. I have off road high clearance running boards from GM and they are great. For serious off roading, you can’t go wrong with a ZR2. UPDATE: I bought my 2023 ZR2 in September 2023. I currently have 37,000 miles. I drive 50/50 on paved/dirt roads. I’m an agricultural consultant so I’m driving across fields to take soil samples, around fields with no roads, and I drive a lot in the mud. I have never been stuck. This truck with locking front and rear differential is amazing. The large 33” tires and 2” factory lift gives me plenty of clearance. The Multi Matic shocks handle the toughest terrain yet ride good on hiway. I have had absolutely no issues with this truck and I drive it hard. It runs 10-12 hours a day in 100F+ heat. I let it idle while I’m checking crops. My only complaint is 6.2L engine is thirsty on gas and 93 octane is recommended. Overall average MPG is 15. I’be ordered a 2024 ZR2 with 3.0 DuraMax. If you drive a lot off road, a ZR2 is the right truck

I miss my Colorado - I traded for this junk!
I was so happy with my Colorado ZR7. I know it was a long time since updates had been done to the Colorado and since I haul a travel trailer I thought it might be a great time to upsize. I didn't know how disappointing this upsize would be. I am blown away by the cheap materials in the interior. The infotainment center is beyond horrible. The hands free doesn't work unless my phone is plugged in since my last software update. And google never understands my voice commands. And it is illegal to look at my phone while driving so perfect timing to screw up something that used to work perfectly. I am shocked that homelink is not on this vehicle in 2023. I have to drive around with the dreaded garage door controller clipped to my visor, in 2023 I'm shocked. I have had my entire radio go silent while in the middle of turn by turn. I had to pull over in a parking lot and do a factory reset in order to continue with directions. As far as the interior goes, I have spent the past 5 months vacuuming the fuzz on whatever the not carpet stuff is on the floor. My fake leather steering wheel started black and looks worn out and gray after only 4K miles. The storage and convenience is horrible. Cheap, cheap!! Did I mention that I miss my Colorado Z71? Next stop, Dodge!
