Smoke them tires!
When I think impala I think big boat grandma car but the truth is grandma could have beat most of us over the finish line. Not on purpose but I’ve owned three impalas now and I loved each and everyone. They are comfortable and have all the power you need. If your smart enough to buy the V8 model you won’t regret it!

Always an Impala for Life
I love a big smooth comfortable sedan! I bought the last year GM is making sedans. Such a deal! I bought my 2020 Cajun red sedan from Avis with 35000 miles on it. It is practically new. I had bought my 2003 Impala which was my company car. I like the big long lasting engine, back up camera and large trunk. As I am 76, this Impala should last as long as my 2003 did.

This helps me gas and do the dash.
This car interior and exterior look are amazing. This car is fast it surprised me when I first drove it. Compared to the Chrysler 300, Honda Accord, and the Nissan Maxima this car is the move. Great for long-distance drives it's like I'm riding on rails. Overall this car is an amazing sedan.

Underwhelming
Ive been lusting after an impala since the 90s. Finally got the opportunity to rent one for 2 weeks while my main vehicle is in the shop. The car had 23k miles on it, and i put 2k more on. The outside is beautiful, I think we all know that. However, as soon as I sat in it, I said, "this is it?" The leather is nice, and the seat can achieve a wide range of positions, but that's where my praise ends. Infotainment system and in dash display are beyond dated. They look like something you'd pick up at best buy and install yourself. The headrest is a rock, like you'd get a concussion if you got rear ended. There are no standard driver assists besides blind spot warning. This is necessary because visibility anywhere but directly ahead is limited, however I found it to be unreliable at the best of times. The car is quick, but the transmission on the car I drove was sluggish. There was a lot of hang time between gears, and I never found a way to accelerate that was smooth. The brakes would get rock hard if the car sat for anything more than 3 hours, likely a bad check valve. These issues should not appear on a car with 23k miles. For comparison my primary vehicle is a 2020 honda. It has lane keeping assistance and adaptive cruise standard. Nicer displays, more accurate voice command, and a matching msrp. It's a minivan.

Undecided Impala shopper
Iconic name plate, I've been drawn to it but for some reason I didn't get it. What concerns me though is the thick roof pillars that impaired visibility, to me is a must. I don't like the choice of colors as I believe they're too few. To me a large car should be a dark color, not necessarily black but may be grey metallic. Not a biggy though as the Impala obviously is a great car in almost every aspect. The engine itself gives a lot bang for the buck. If I keep being ambivalent, GM is going to stop making it.
