Used 2008 Chevrolet HHR Consumer Reviews
WORST CAR EVER/CHEVY WORST CUST. SERV. DENIED HELP
This is the worst car I have ever purchased. It is rickety, tinny, bumpy ANDDD part of an ignition recall. My daughter at college, Arizona freeway 75 mph, loses all power, no power steering. this happens 6 times! avoiding death or serious injury from vehicles on the freeway. Had it to 4 garages before we knew about recall and no one could diagnose the problem. Had ignition fixed, and now this morning, same. 75mph, Semi swerves to miss crushing her. I call GM, they say sorry, not enough people have called/complained or died to help us. Car dealerships won't take it as a trade in because of all the complaints. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR CHEVY AND GM REFUSED TO HELP US. NOONE CARED ABOUT OUR SAFETY OR LIVES. THANKS CHEVY/GM! WOULD YOU GIVE THIS CAR TO YOUR LOVED ONE?

Excellent affordable, dependable car
I've had this car for almost 2 years and over 37,000 miles. It is used for a 40 mile round trip to work every day and hauling 3 kids around. I've read a couple of reviews from other owners who had chronic problems but I can honestly say I have had absolutely none yet. I think this an excellent car for someone who needs a dependable, affordable yet still sporty looking family car.
Fun car
I've had my HHR for over a year and still love it like the day I bought it. It's reliable, great gas mileage, and it's fun to drive. I like the cargo net option and the fold down seats. I've packed a lot of my belongings with the back seats down. The optional ipod jack is great as well for long drives.
Great choice
My 08 LS Auto is fabulous. 2.2 motor 149hp is more than adequate despite the heavy vehicle. Ride is soft as expected and comfortable. We use this as a family hauler with two kids 3 and 4. They can actually get in all by themselves unlike the large SUV guzzlers out there. This is an inexpensive, economy vehicle with some flair and modern features. The info panel is fantastic and interior versatility is top notch. GM is offering the goods to the lower price buyers for a change, not just the monster SUV crowd. Interior quality is better than expected for price and segment. I think it looks more premium than the msrp commanded. Replacement parts are inexpensive too (brakes, rotors, etc)
