Third owner, (bought at 145K) for only $1,200 bucks, book value at time of purchase was $6K. Best truck to ever leave the assembly line. Has the 5.7L TBI 350 and 4L60E O/D Trans. Has Advantage Enterprise Conversion on it including wood (real oak) trim around doors and instrument panel, has mood lighting up top, Goshen leather seats, Z71 Pkg I would not get rid of this truck for anything. Have put around $1,500 into it but it was all normal Wear'N'Tear items that give after age and mileage. I'm still $3,300 under what it was worth. I've put on an Airaid TBI spacer and a Hypertech Street Runner chip for a little more grunt. Will definately put in a GM Goodwrench Crate Motor when the time comes

The 4.3L V6 is more than adequate for what the a fullsize truck needs to be able to do. What uneducated consumers need to realize is that the 4.3L is identical to a 350ci V8 but with 2 less cylinders. In other words, the bore, stroke, and compression are the same. The the V6 has about 20 less horse power than the V8 but it gets twice the gas mileage. The 4.3L V6 is litterally the most efficient motor of its time in all aspects. Combined with a the manual transmission I'm sure you will be satisfied with its performance.

I'm 17 years old, and I just inherited my Dad's truck. It has 133,000 miles on it, and I gotta be honest, it's awesome. The truck is so sturdy, and I've gotten 1,600 pound loads on it before no problem. The engine is powerful and gets up hills easily with a full bed. Get this truck if you can! Its super reliable, and we've had only minor problems with it. I use it for scrapping metal at junkyards, hauling household appliances, and logs for firewood. Again, it has never let me down.

I bought this truck for 1000 bucks, its been worth every penny. This truck is very easy and comfortable to drive. The engine has always had a squeaky noise (I think from the valves). Despite the wimpy 4.3 engine that does not accelorate well, it just keeps going and going like the energizer bunny. OK so the trans is failing and I"ll probably rebuild it. For some reason my truck has very little rust, all in the typical areas about as big as dimes but only surface rust. I have the button radio and heating style, the volume button is very jumpy.
