Used 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Consumer Reviews
A fine American compact
The imports have been good to the US automakers. They taught them they need to strive for better cars. The cavalier on a cost to value ration is a big winner in this group. This is my second Cavalier in 5 years and it is a fine daily driver / commuter. We rack up about 25k per year and rotate our cars every four years or so. The Cavaliers we have owned never had a cost outside of routine maintainence.
Great car
Great little car, good on gas, peppy 4 cylinder engine, and very reliable, i took this car on road trips all over the place and now that she's gone i miss it, never should have traded.
Love my girl
My Cavalier is three years old this month and I still love her. Had a few problems with the converter at first but since replacement she's been running like a champ. Driven across the country 3 times and never had a single problem. She's small, sporty, and reliable.
SPORTY, QUICK, FUN AND RELIABLE...
I have owned my LS sedan for going on 5 years now and it's been a pleasure to own and very fun to drive! I replaced the stock air filter with a K&N system, upgraded the stock exhaust to a racing exhaust, and use synthetic oil and the 140hp engine (about 150hp+ with the mods) and I have the 4-speed automatic with overdrive and the car literally can outrun most 4-cylinders and even some V-6's Not only is it quick, but I like the exterior and interior styling and the car has been exceptionally reliable. I've got over 135,000 miles on it and have only needed basic repairs like a water pump, radiator hoses, thermostat, and rear tail light socket replaced.
Satisfied
I recently got a 2002 Cavalier base coupe, and i had doubts about the performance aspect of the 2.2 L engine. My car was equipted with a 5 speed manual transmission which proved to deliver good pick-up and acceleration. It will really fool you. Although it is not as refined as its imported competitors, it has all that one would need, all in pretty good locations. I recomend the chevy cavalier.
