There's not many conditions that I haven't driven the old girl through. Much like most people have problems with the headlamps and taillights seem to go out more often then usual - but unlike most I haven't had any problems with the tires. Breaks tend to whine on light stopping while it's raining but that can be considered normal. Had it for quite a while now with a little over 64k on it almost all highway miles aside from some light racing on it. She can redline without worrying whether or not something's going to blow or not. Great car, extremely fun, no real high maintnence, only complain is the 30mpg highway seems like a lie - around 24 average with cruise on.

Bought my Z28 in 2000, low mileage, from a car dealer. She currently has slightly over 37,000 miles. I keep it maintenance free and every few years go in and replace the fittings and what not to stave off dry rot. Yes, I am the proverbial "little ole lady from Pasadena". I have never had a major problem with it. She is now 20 years old and I have purchased mountain property with a gravel road that leads to the property. I have not driven her down to the property yet, but am concerned it will not make it up the roads. I hate like hell to give her up. She moves like the wind, has given me virtually no issues and the thought of having to sell her off for an awd or 4wd makes me sick! And what if she could deal with it? I will only be leaving the house to grocery shop, go to the vet and take myself to the doctor. I am 67 years old and dearly love this car. But it's over a 10 hour drive to go from here PA down to the Appalachian Mountains in NC only to find out I can't make it up the mountain. Oh, by the way, she has a T-roof, but I have never taken the panels out. Now she is so old, I'm afraid after 20 years if I take them out, I may never get them back in. As for leaking, in a really heavy rain she will shed a couple of drops on my thigh and that is it. Do ya'll think she could make it up a steep mountain like the big boy 4wd's? [contact info removed]

Although gas mileage isn't ideal, you will have so much fun driving this car that it more than makes up for the gas. I will never sell my SS.

Lots of fun; not for the inexperienced

It goes like greased lightning, looks sharp, stops well, and is quite economical to drive. The build quality is shocking, with mismatched body panels, failed electrical equipment, wind and water leaks, and just not a quality vehicle . My dealer has been most supportive, but I am pleased that I got the extended warrantee. The power, even with traction control, makes it a handful in wet weather, and in the snow, just park it and take the bus. It has startled me a few times with unpredictable handling with no warning.

I have had this car for almost 10 years. Great car drives quiet and with ease on the highway without road noise. The only thing I have had to do is tires, battery, headlights tail lights, belts. Oil changes regular maintaince. She has gone to the mountains three times with no problems on the blue ridge. I don't like the in/out of the seat as it is low and my hips have had enough. Don't care for the windshield its had to keep clean. I would change the rear hatch when its has rained when you lift up the hatch the water runs inside. I would not buy a knew one only because I am ready for a truck, but I have nothing to complain about this camaro has been very reliable never has given me any problems
