THE SLEEPER: (Buick Ultra Park Ave Supercharge)
The 1993 Buick Park Ave. Supercharge's character was compared to a love affair between Arnold Schwartzenegger and Madonna. If you're in a hurry, it get to it right! Although I'm not the original owner, I've had my Big Boy for 8 years now. All the things they say about it are true, plus some. It's difficult to think about selling it, (even at 225,000 miles), because it's such a sweet car. When a huge truck is behind me at night, it's headlights is no challenge for the "SLEEPER"'s mirrors and shadowed' windows. It's more comfortable than a couch and handles like a big boy on the road. I took 4 passengers with all their baggage to the airport comfortably! OUUAHHH
A long lasting reliable luxury-sedan
I bought this car for my wife when we were in college. I have owned it happily ever since and its moved with us across the world, from California, to the south, to the NorthEast and to beautiful Hawaii. It was the first car my baby-girl rode home in and I would put her in another. This car is fun to drive and very reliable - I have had absolutely no issues other than normal wear and tear items. The supercharger allows it to accelerate smoothly for a car of its weight and I have NEVER ridden in a more comfortable automobile. Ithandles very well for this class of vehicle They are very easily acquired as an absolutely fully-optioned ULTRA for very little money and they are worth EVERY penny
Best car I've owned
Come this July , I will have owned my Park Avenue for 5 years. That is also 83,000 miles later. She is now rolling with 208,000 plus miles on her. This is all I have done since I bought her. Brakes and calipers. Shocks and struts. 2 sets of Tiger Paw tires. Oil and lube every 3K-5K. Tranmission flush. A/C charge.
Best 23yo car ever?
I got lucky on this car! A neighbor of mine had this vehicle sitting in his garage for nearly six years. His wife died...He sold it to me for $850 cash! Pristeen condition, only 92000 original miles! I slapped on new tires, and replaced the fuel filter, as I worried about the quality of the gasoline after sitting for six years...but no problems...Just hit 110,000 after two years of ownership....new brakes and a new battery--typical maintenance stuff. I cannot emphasize how nice this Buick drives, and it should last me at least another 100,000 miles! I have now owned three Buicks in my life...all three were reliable and very comfortable vehicles...Buick just might be the best American passenger cars, dollar for dollar!

I love this car!
I bought this car several years ago with 66,000 miles on it. It now has 121,000 and I've had next to no problems with it. It's fun to drive, has good handling and gets 26 mpg on the highway. My car came with just about every luxury feature you can imagine short of a sunroof and heated sideview mirrors. The ride is very smooth and the interior is very quiet. It is great on long trips. The trunk is enormous. It doesn't burn or leak any oil. The exterior styling is a little too conservative but it more than makes up for it in value. I'd buy another in a heartbeat. It's the best vehicle I've ever owned.
19 mpg?
I have owned several 90's lesabre's and park avenue models, they all routinely got mileages in the 30 mpg range. many people have told me the same was common to buick's they had owned. this site rates them at 19 mpg must have a lead foot
Best car I've ever owned!
I bought my Park Avenue 5 years ago and it has been a pleasure to own and drive. I now have over 222,000 miles on it, and it doesn't burn or leak a drop of oil. Besides oil changes, tires and brakes, I have had nothing major go wrong with this car. The book value is now basically a wash. But, I only paid $2950 for it back in '02, even though the original owner paid over $29,000. My car is now 15 years old and I'm planning on keeping her to run during the winter months to save the new one I'll be buying soon. I can't say enough good things about my Buick.
My Park Avenue Ultra
This is perhaps the best blend of full- size luxury, quality contruction, strong performance and price since the Chrysler 300's of the late 50's and early 60's (not to be confused with the current 300-M which is much smaller and has less power).
I agree with Rob
Like the first reviewer, the first thing that came to my mind was this was like a Chrsler 300J I once drove. Smooth power and style beyond belief. The car is silk smooth and very reliable. I have had to replace the weatherstripping after 10 years. The only bad thing about the car is the front license plate holder--very poor design. The car is very quiet and the Ultra has a power steering that requires more force to turn at speed which I do not like. But the mechanical quality of the car is excellent.
Going on 250000 miles
I've driven this car briskly over 250000 miles and it's been low cost, reliable transportation.
Excellent Car
Best car we've ever owned. Great mileage, 30 mpg on freeway, Only thing I've ever had to do besides regular maintenance is replace the supercharger which was my own fault because I ran it out of oil.
Love my Buick Park Ave Supercharge
We've had this car since '93, have driven it 175,000 miles with no major repairs. It's the best car that we've ever owned. Even the gas mileage is reasonable with all those miles. Body is in great shape and it's a very comfortable ride. We have no intention of getting rid of our 'Jesse' any time in the near future. We know other Buick Park Ave owners in our area that have the same experience - very happy owners! Love this car!!!
GREAT VALUE
I HAVE ENJOYED THIS CAR FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS. I HAVE BEEN ON MANY TRIPS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. IT HAS BEEN THE MOST COMFORTABLE, DEPENDABLE CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED
surprised
I have never owned a buick but I found this one reasonably priced and I needed cheap transportation. I have been pleasantly surprised at how dependable it has been. I have replaced the battery and two sensors. The car has been great. There is an exhaust odor in the cabin and it smokes a little after sitting a couple of days. The hood rattles a bit on rough roads.
1992 Buick
This vehicle is an excellent vehicle for those who want dependabilty in a car. It has one the smoothest rides, great features, and as long as you keep up with the required maintenance gives you no problems.
my 1993 roadmaster
up to now had no problem, but just recently had to replace heater blower motor-the air conditioner exchanger is leaking and I have to replace it--also had toreplace radiator core because it leaks. rather expensive coming all at once.
Good, but maybe not great.
I bought this car from an elderly man...he had owned it for 20 years, and only put 90,000 miles on it...Always garaged, no accidents, looks like new!...Paid $850 for it!...anyway, seven years later, it has 142,000 miles on it....a few things have happened...valve cover gaskets leaked, front brake lines cracked, ...biggest potential problem is that the transmission will not engage on a cool day, for at least one minute!...I suppose eventually it will need replacing...very expensive!...but it still runs very well, is quiet and gets 27mpg on a road trip...the 3800 V6 is supposed to be the most reliable 6cyl engine that GM ever made, so I just might pay $3,000 eventually for a transmission rebuild...I love this car...you cannot buy this type/style of vehicle anymore!

A Buick to remember
We have owned it now for 10 of its 13 years. It's been a great car getting 30-32 mpg on the road. Very little repair and it's great on the road.
Not Necessarily an
Excellent Buy with tremendous comfort and reliability. The 3.8 litre V-6 has plenty of power and at 50% City/50% Highway, it averages 20 MPG. The biggest downer is with all of the gadgets and "creature comforts" I anticipate a lot of little problems in the coming years.
very good car
I have not had the car very long, but so far, it seems like a very good car. I use the car as one of my daily drivers/work car. I hope it will be a good dependable car.
not just for old people
I bought a Buick Lesabre Just a couple of Years ago for $500.00 a 1986 it was in good condition plenty of Power a couple of blemishes on the body and very little rust at the bottom of the door. I liked the way it rode. Later the Tranny failed, so luckily we found a great deal on a 92 Park Ave. I paid about the same price for it that I would of to get the LeSabre fixed and it was newer so I sent the Lesabre to the junk yard and Never looked back.
ULTRA buickk
I have to say my buick ULTRA is the best used car that I have ever owned. The supercharger is great, especially getting on the freeway! You wouldn't think this car has almost 200,000 miles on it. Aside from minor repairs, such as,A\C, starter, and belts\hoses this car has been very reliable. Changing the oil is key in maintaing the longevity of a moter. An oil change light on the dashboard is possibly the reason for all those trouble free miles.
Great car
I bought the vehicle when it had about 80000 miles on it in 1999. Now it has 136000. I have had following bigger problems: Needed new alternator, A/C quit last summer, right front ball joint was replaced (hit a pot hole real bad). Not too bad I suppose.
Bought it 1995 only 6,000 miles now has 671,42323
Bought this supercharged Park Avenue used in 1996 hadonly 6,000 miles been a part of our family ever since All 3 of my kids learned to drive in it never had any problems with the engine or transmission and was in a terrible accident from behind we all walked away. Bought it back from insurance and had it rebuilt and still riding it around today 2022. GM had no idea that the combination used to build these cars would become amongst the world's safest and most reliable automobiles. Thank you General Motors for the 90s Buick Park Avenue, Big, comfortable, sporty, adjile, fast ,safe ,& Great fuel mileage

The Best of the Best
I hope my Buick lasts forever. She’s on year 31 and still going strong. These cars are economical, dependable, and easy to work on. I wish they were still being made. These are nearly bulletproof and one of the best American cars ever built. After 30 years, leaks and minor issues are to be expected. Parts are affordable and not too hard to find. Despite this, it’s still a wonderful, reliable car with plenty of power.
