2025 X5 40i
For the 3rd time in only 4&1/2 months since new, the tailgate will not open. I am very disappointed! This is an 85000 dollar vehicle, fully loaded. This should not be happening. Once again i will have to take it in to be fixed. I should have never bought it..

Software blues
Great drivers car spoiled by the software. Comfortable, quiet, spacious, quick, fuel efficient, BMW. Stands for Bavarian Motor Werks. That what there good at, power trains and suspensions. The software creates distracted driving. Adaptive cruise menu is difficult to access if distance control needs to be modified. Other than that issue adaptive cruise with lane keep assist and auto lane change works flawlessly. Last software complaint is the car is always turning the radio on whether I’m driving or just opening the door with the ignition off.

Nice and overpriced
Car drives and handles pretty well. For a short person you need a step bar or else you will be climbing up
Comfort that Rocks
90% of my driving is local. I have only put in 6 gallons of gas in 4600 miles. I’ve had no problems with the car It is well finished and with air suspension,a great ride for a sport SUV. I did replace the run flats with regular tires. I keep a can of run flat just in case.

Not viable in a hot climate - get the v8
This car is a good car, it handles well and it has good ride. I would not buy the e50 hybrid if you live in a warm climate. On a level 1 charger it actually uses more energy to run the fan and pump (on all the time and throws a check engine light) than can be generated by the charger. Therefore you plug it in and literally a day later, it is less charged than when you plugged it in. You just spent 10 dollars to get nothing. You are therefore forced to use a 30A L2 charger just to be able to charge it.
