Used 2010 BMW X5 SUV Consumer Reviews
Lowest quality vehicle I've ever owned
BMW has engineered costly failures by 100k. Great to drive when new but garbage components designed to fail early. IE: plastic water pump, plastic valve cover, low grade seals, low grade window regulators, cheap chinese parts all over these cars. Average repair cost $1000.00 or more per visit is my experience. Buy a Lexus if you want luxury with quality.

Good but miss expectation
Got the new X5 for a very good price. With just a few hundreds over invoice and factoring in the $2500 rebate, great deal. Had a BMW 330i with ZHP before. Expected a similar "best in class" dynamic. Was quite disappointed. The vehicle is close to my outgoing 2001 MDX than the 330i in terms of performance and handling. Don't know about the turning radius myth. Where my MDX could make a straight U turn, I have had to do w/ 3 point turns. Big gaps in the doors letting dirts in. Tires are run-flat only. Hugely expensive as BMW disallow repairs. A small nail had cost me $400.

Nice Car
I acquired the car from a family member at 14k miles and have driven it for a total of 135k miles. It has proven to be an exceptional SUV in various aspects, offering reliability throughout its journey. The routine maintenance costs, including brakes, tires, and oil changes, are approximately 10% higher compared to other makes. In terms of additional expenses, I incurred the following: - A new radiator at 60k miles, costing $1000.00. - Transmission oil change at 90k miles, with an expense of $800.00. - Replacement of the battery after 7 years, totaling $400.00. - Footwell module and electric brake actuator replacement at 147k miles, amounting to $2500.00. While it doesn't demand frequent attention, when maintenance is required, it can be a bit costly. However, considering the overall performance, it's challenging to find fault. At 153k miles, the fuel pump, previously replaced under a recall, failed, necessitating a repair cost of $1300.00. Unfortunately, at 160k miles, the fuel pump failed again, signaling that it might be time for this venerable vehicle to retire from service.

Perfect
I ordered an X5, 4.8 with: Cold Weather PKG Premium PKG Tech PKG rear climate 3rd row The ride is great, performance is exciting and everything just feels right. No need for premium sound system, the base package is pretty good, and I like to listen to loud music.
Nice car, but unreliable
Car is great. I have everything except Navigation package. X5 drove great for the first 5200 miles until the electrical system and comfort access failed. Been without my ride I've had for 5 months for two weeks now. This is my first BMW, and may be my last, since the X5 is proving to be unreliable.
