A big change from an SUV
I've enjoyed owning the 330i, however it has been a big change from an SUV. For someone who is taller it is much harder to get in and out of. You must fall in and climb out of the vehicle. Also, the sport package is great, until it snows. The traction control worked as long as you were moving. Once you stop you are stuck. It feels great to drive but the tires like to follow the grooves of the road and you feel every bump. The sport wheels are also very difficult to keep perfect as the rim is so low to the ground. It is very easy to ding and scratch your rims. All in all it has been fun to drive.
Huge Mistake!! NEVER again!!!
This is my 3rd BMW . (I had two 325ci in the past) This car ride horrible!! Bounces all over the road! It seems to me that BMW made some short cuts on this model! They charged me 75.00 for" Satellite Prep" and the car does NOT even have the Radio! For 38,000 this car should already have a satellite radio built in. This car should also alrady have an IN DASH 6 CD changer standard! This is my LAST BMW! The style is also questionable. People think the rear end looks like a HYUNDAI!

Best Car I've Owned
This 330xi is amazing. Quality is superb. I know not all folks have had good experience but this car handles out of this world. Suspension, brakes, etc. Highly recommend this jewel! RFTs? Hmm, still not sure I'm a fan but so far, so good!
The Best Car I ever Owned
As of 20000 miles there are virtually no negatives other than a minor computer glitch when I first purchased the car. Well worth the price. Excellent in all categories
The ultimate driving machine
Apparently its not just a marketing slogan. This is my first 3 series and I'm certain it wont be my last. 2 and 1/2 years and 26,000 miles and I'm still completely impressed with it. It's not just the smooth engine or the fantastic handling or how it communicates so perfectly with the driver. It's the total package in a The Sum is SO much more than the parts kind of way. In terms of being a "driver's" car I think it is car lengths ahead of much of its competition.
BMW 330xi
I recently had my second child so I needed to upgrade to a bigger car, I'm coming from a 2004 325ci. I was really excited to move to a bigger car with more power and a manual transmission. However, the first corner I took almost made me regret my decision. I did not realize how much of a difference the sport suspension made. Therefore, I wanted to warn any potential buyer to make sure you do not want the sports suspension. The car is fine and still fun to drive, however, I do miss the sport suspensions. FYI... the xi does not come with sport suspension.
Awesome and fun
This is my second of many BMWs to come, I love the way the 2006 handles, this car is very tight. Many more extras than my 2002 and roomier. Definitely would recommend this car!
Save your money!
I bought this car new 3 weeks ago. I am not satisfied at all. First, let me say that I also own a 2003 BMW 330i so I do have some BMW ownership experience. The 2006 330i is unsatisfactory, in my opinion. I've already had it back to the dealer because it is hesitating noticeable when starting from a stopped position. Of course, they said they couldn't find anything wrong. If you floor it, and then let up on the gas, the RPM's stay up for a coule of seconds even after you take your foot off the gas like the car can't figure out what to do next. It also needs a front end alignment which I noticed immediately when test driving it, but they dont' have the specs to repair that yet.
Fun Factor Reaches Record Levels
I just picked up a new 325 with the Premium and Sport packages. Unimpressed with the 2005 version, THIS little rocket maintains the pure driving fun while reducing the road noise and jitter. It's truly the best of both worlds. I can't sit still at home now -- I just want to drive... somewhere... ANYWHERE!!! The car stays flat on hard turns, doesn't plow on hard braking, leaps upon acceleration. We're bonding, we really are! Okay, gotta run. I've gotta drive across town for uh, something. = :)
My BMW 325i
Sitting in this car is definitely different from my former Volvo 850; my legs occasionally ache while driving, but I shall adjust, otherwise, I love my car! The handling is excellent, it is roomy in the back for a tall gal like myself, the new design turns heads, (including my own), and I love the neat gadgets, such as the cooling device for my drinks. It is awkward to have a drink placed inside while driving; I am used to using that area as an arm rest. My car "beeps" out of the blue; I don't know why; neither does the reps at BMW--it's not a seatbelt problem. Does this happen to anyone else? Also, I love checking my oil using the display screen and that BMW will contact me for service.
expectations met
three thousand miles in and I still look for excuses to drive the car (even with current gas prices). My only comment is that the 6 speed manual makes the driving experience so much more invigorating.
So in love
I almost bought an Audi A3, but something kept nagging me to give the new a 3 a test drive. I loved my '03 325ci, but wanted two more doors. Holy cow am I glad that on a whim I decided to drive this car. I am not crazy about the exterior styling, but who really cares witha car that drives this well. If is simply the most amazing car I have ever driven. I got mine with a manuals transmission, sport and premium packages and i-drive. All the bad press about the iDrive is hooey. If you have half a brain, it works great. I don't spend much time fiddling with it though. I am too busy throwing this car around like a race car!
I love it.
Incredibly smooth, quiet, powerful ride. Back seat roomier than I thought it would be. Everything seems very ergonomically correct.
My first 200 miles
I just got my new 2006 330i and love it so far. I love the active steering and the aluminum trim (it goes perfectly with the grey interior). BUT one thing I realize I don't like is the ride - I did NOT get the sport pkg. but it rides like a buckboard in regular driving situations. I now wish I had bought something else such as the new Infiniti M. It's too bad that BMW took the perfect car (on so many things I like) and have made it way too bouncy for comfort - I am not expecting a Cadillac but this rides worse than my BMW 540 with the sport package.
Amazing car, no regrets at all
This is a great, great car. Silky smooth engine and endless amounts of effortless torque all the way up to 130mph. Refined and poised at high speeds, handles like a dream with uncanny road holding ability. It's hard keeping this car under 80mph, and it'll only feel like you're going half the speed indicated. Incredible build quality and feel. Navigation system with voice commands is amazing and iDrive, though not immediately intuitive, is to me the way of the future. Stock sound system is awesome. MP3 CD play capability will be available in a Sept. software update for those with iDrive (non-iDrive cars already have MP3 CD ability). Much improved interior room, especially the rear seating.
It doesn't get much better this
Absolutely the best car I have every driven or owned. The faster it goes the smoother is gets....taken corners rated at 15 MPH at 60-70 MPH and the wheels never slipped. Fun to drive. Sound system fanastic
Run-Flats No Good
The Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Run- Flat tires don't work with the 330i. In less than 6 months, I've already had to have one replaced and now I need 2 more. The service center thought that there might be a braking problem or transmission problem that makes them wear out so fast, but it might just be the tires.
Great car
The car drives briliantly but I would give it back because of the seat belt idiot blinging chime. It won't stop, seat has pressure sensors. Bet European models don't do this. I wish I knew how to disable the blinging chime. Why is there no temperature/oil pressure gauge in a sports sedan? Handles snow great even with 18" sport tires. I would not order iDrive again not intuitive. BMW should beg Apple computer to design menues and interface.
NICE ~ FUN ~ CAR
This is my first BMW, my husband's second, I bought it for his 50th birthday gift; he has driven it a handful of times. If I let him, lol. (I stole it from him!) We both love it! Along with our 3 kids. We have had just about every car out there. IT IS FUN! We all love it!
330i A fun car to drive
This is the second 330i that we have own. The first was a 2003 and we thought they couldn't do better, they did. My wife who never before cared what car she drove loves the 330i. After the first one I had to go and get my own BMW.
Worth the extra money!
I just traded my '02 3 series, and BMW has done it once again! This is a driver's car, the perfect balance of road feel vs. luxury. My advice is buy the car because it is beautiful in design & awesome to drive. Also, you have to get some toys. if you find your self looking at stripped ones, don't bother. You have to pony up the extra money for the premium package at least. I think the sports package and xenons are worth it too. Satellite radio is an option, but it is awesome.
Is BMW taking its customers for granted?
I was excited to purchase my third 3 series, but the excitement wore off pretty quickly, as I discovered that the pain of the rough ride more than offset the fun of the handling. I have had petty-but-significant problems with the car and a very poor dealership warranty response to things that have just taken the fun out of the car. While the handling is good, the fun of the handling is more than offset by the rough ride. The tires were defective, but no one told me and I had to pay a pro-rata portion to replace them as a result. The radio failed, sun roof failed, steering interlock failed - all within months of purchase. BMW quality control is questionable. Next time I will buy a Lexus!
Fun To Drive
This is a very fun car to drive, excellent performance speed and handling. Very good sound system. When you drive this car you feel like you don't want to drive anything else. The ride was very rough when I first got it but when I got new tires and rims on the car it got so much smoother. It is worth every dollar.
Good deal
This car in 2006 was overall the best value I could get. I test drove Lexus IS 250 and Acura TL which both have nicer interior layout. However, to get comparably equipped vehicle (leather, power seats, automatic, xenon lights) I would end up paying $2K - $3K more for them. Besides, BMW has smarter transmission and higher torque at lower RPMs that well compensates for lower horsepower, and a better feeling drive line. So, in all, it is a fun to drive car, performing somewhat better than competition and at a better price, plus the maintenance is included. I have never regretted getting it! P.S. Its OEM tires were awful, and I needed to replace them at 18K miles.
Buy an A4 Instead!
I traded an 1998 Audi A4 2.8 on a new 2006 BMW 330i and boy golly, was it a mistake! These new Bridgestone run flats wear out right away. I had to replace my first one with less than 2000 miles on the car and it needs two more. I have to assume they are for decoration - they don't actually work as tires. They brag that they run flat, but so do rocks and I don't want those either. They are uncomfortable and they go bald right away - not covered by BMWs 100% maintenance coverage (should they maybe change that to 90ish%?)

Best in class, doesn't say much
Less than a year of ownership and my 2006 330i has had 3 major problems: bad brakes; HVAC stops working; comfort access works intermittently. Yes, it's fun to drive - once I replaced the lousy run flat tires. The handling and feedback are best in class, but that mostly reflects on the weakness of the class. Woefully underpowered with the 255 hp 3.0. The exterior's a total nightmare. But again, in the class, they're all ugly. Big, bloated and very heavy describe the 330i's outside. The interior's cavernous and very Buick-like. All around the car's a gross departure from my dearly departed 2003 330i ZHP. Unless the class sharpens up though, I can't imagine getting anything else.
