Door handles had to be replaced. My 6- speed manual has a 4th gear that disengages between 60 and 75km/hr. No good for Prairie winters, even with new snow tires - xdrive might be better. Vehicle is generally too light for snowy climes and icy roads. Fun in the sun, though. Great handling. Good warranty and servicing support and dealerships offer very good customer service.

Just got my new 325i with Sport Package. Wow, for years, I have driven VW's, Hondas...but this is totally different thing. I am glad I got it and it is definitely worth every dime. Outside is beautiful, compact, but just the way it's supposed to be. Inside is perfect, from the layouts to the available room, which is great for the class of this automobile. The car is super quiet, but roars nicely when stepped on it. Sport package is definitely worth the money. Leatherette looks and feels great. I could go on, and on...

Somewhat disappointed

This is my third 3 series BMW in the last 5 years. I've previously owned a 325xi and my last 2 have been 330xis so I feel I'm fairly qualified to write an objective review. The 2006 body style is terrific and the interior appointments are far better than previous years. The seats are comfortable and seem to wrap around your body like a glove. The overall ride experience is firmer than my previous cars and I do not seem to get the same "rush" when stepping on the gas as my 2003 330xi. The lack of body side molding is a problem as I already have dings where side-molding should have been. The radio (even with Sirius) is average and the cup-holders are woefully inadequate. This car is just Ok.

These are just initial impressions after only 600 miles. I can't comment on reliability. I replaced a 03 330Ci for a 06 330i and I also drive a 04 Audi A4 1.8T. All of these cars with sport package. I am both a BMW and Audi fan btw. This 3er is by far the best handling car out of the three. I did not imagine that the new 3er would outperform my old Ci because that vehicle was already excellent. This car is ridiculous in cornering and has 30 horses more. I don't think I will ever be able to push it its limit. The car simply beats the the current A4 as well. In short if you are in for a car in this segment do yourself a favor and at least test drive one with a sport package.

I just sold my 2001 330I and bought the new 2006 model and I couldn't be more happier. I got the sport package and premium package as I had before and the extra interior room is more than adequate. I have had several compliments on the new look and design. It doesn't seem as quick as my 2001 from the start but the ride is alot more comfortable and smooth. I recommend it to anyone who can afford it, but make sure you get the sport package with the upgraded rims etc.!

This BMW is faster than most cars (got the 6 speed), excellent acceleration. I drove a 7 series before this, so the Sport Package and short wheelbase on the 3 ride pretty rough for my taste. The car feels like its glued to the road though. Stunning looks, very fun, Bluetooth is awesome,Sport seats too, Stock base stereo jams.

I absolutely love this car. The new exterior design is sharp and in my opinion looks better than the older model... and I liked the look of the older models. The new design is hot and sporty. The added power is a nice bonus. It's loaded with standard features. Things I didn't have the last time I bought a car... mp3 player and power moonroof/sunroof just to name 2. It's only been a week and I can't stop driving... nearing 800 miles. =( But I love it.

Traded in 2003 330i for this. Initially, I have some reservation. But only the second day of owning it, I can't even find enough excuses driving it. The engine is superbly smooth. The 6-speed manual executed perfectly. Got it black on black with aluminum trim. I'm loving it more each day. Best decision ever made. Pick up is excellent even in 6th gear.

This is my first BMW and I couldn't be happier with a car in this class. I've had two Mercedes C230's, but neither were as fun to drive as this car. The inline 6 is much more responsive than the Mercedes' with superchargers and the interior is far more comfortable. I didn't spring for the 330, but with 215hp the 325 has more power than most cars in the class. Under advice from this site and many other BMW owners, I did not get the navigation package with the iDrive.

Picked up the car 12/31/05. Since then, I have put on ~3,900 miles. Some in snow, some in rain and now quite a bit in sunshine... all of it has been a pure joy to experience. From interior/exterior fit & finish, to overall esthetics & overall performance, this car is HARD to beat, if NOT impossible. Oh, did I mention it gets great fuel mileage & I'm talking a 21.1 avg since I picked it up (I DON'T drive slowly either ;-) If you're in the market for an upscale sport sedan and have ~$45k to spend, look no further!

330 i Black sedan sports/premium package chrome wheels. One of the funnest cars to drive in it class. Have had Lexus, Mercedes and this one tops the cake. 3 years of playing the radio loud every day and the sound system still rocks. Had two small problems when car was new airbag light and steering wheel lock, but since then car has been very reliable and actually am surprised. Steptronic is so fun if you know how to use it right it really feels realistic. The car is sensitive to every pothole but no biggie had to replace only one run flat tire but do to huge nail on side wall that wouldn't be fixable on a regular tire. Replace first set of run flats at 31k and I drive crazy so no complaints.

Window buttons hard to reach, cup holders useless, iDrive is finicky, A/C and heater not as powerful as my Honda Accord, voice command option is all but useless. That being said I love my 325i. I've got 10K miles on it now. MPG is okay, handling is fantastic, acceleration is good in auto, great in semi-manual. A young guy in a 2004 330i thought he'd get the better of me at a light - he was wrong. Ride is firm but smooth. Car paid for itself when a much younger girl said "Wow, very nice car" to me the day after I bought it - very shallow of me, but it was still reaffirming.

It's a nice car and fun to drive. Got everything that I look for, and doesn't have anything I don't care to have. Great handling, reasonably quite. It ride solid but smoothly, just one of the best car one could have hoped for out of a small car. Excellent road feel, easy to go around. To me, the new 3 is a better looking car than the 5 and the 7 series. A head turner no doubt.

This car drives phenomenally. Going 100 mph feels like you are doing 40 mph. Its hugs the road around turns and sucks up all the bumps so you don't feel it. The inside is super quiet when driving. If I had known that BMWs were so much fun to drive, I would have bought one years ago.

My car has the Sport package and adaptive steering and hugs the road better than my Porsche 911. On a recent trip to DC I averaged 32+ MPG. It is my first BMW, but will be a family member for many years to come !!

I have enjoyed driving this car, but I have had many issues with reliability on what would be considered to be "small" items. All 4 window motors have been replaced. The electronics on the front right side all stopped working. Squeaky dashboard. The front grille flew off when I was doing 65 MPH. I have had the car for 2.5 years and it's been in the shop 11 times... which is about 10 times more than the 1994 model that I drove for years. I also got caught in the run flat tire fiasco. Trust me, if you push the dealer hard enough then BMW USA will replace them @ no charge. In my case, they had records where I had been complaining about the quality of the ride since the 2nd day I owned the car.

The new 2006 BMW 325i is not what you would expect from a 4-door sedan! The comfort level is superb (Even for someone who is 6'3", as I am). The new 3 liter engine really does the trick. The automatic transmition allows for a comfortable ride in "D" mode, however, when you find yourself on an empty road filled with curves, put it in Sport mode or the semi-manual mode and the car truely comes alive. The sports package adds quite a nice touch. The larger rims and adjustable sport seats are easily worth the money. Also, I have been averaging a great 34 mpg on the highway. Hard to beat! The car is truly a joy to drive, and I find myself taking a rural, winding route home in the evenings.

Ok I get to drive and own a lot of cars but must say the 325i is fun! Cant believe it but I avg 24 mpg, yes, this is in Fl, it has a gauge and pretty much don’t go under 22 nor over 24 around town and hwy, I know if this was the sport ed or a 330i it would have been a 10 down the line but it's not and will give an overall rating of 9

Good power from the V6, smooth flexible engine, fun shifting 6-sp manual, firm and controlled ride, great steering feel and handling, beautiful inside and out, efficient interior space for its exterior dimensions, quality interior materials, comfortable (especially the sports package seats), vastly improved handling with aftermarket lightweight 18" wheels with real non-runflat tires. Decent MPG for car's size and engine (23mpg overall in 50/50 city/highway spirited driving in Chicago).

This will not be the last BMW I purchase. I'm sold for life. I think that the people who design BMWs know what the buyers want. I wanted a sports car that had a feel of luxury and that's exactly what I got. Now I'm ready for the M6. The sexiest car to me hands down.

For the money, this car's handling is like no other . Now that is coming from a former SUV owner so take it as you may. The acceleration is awesome. I got sports/premium pack with steptronic trans. i see no benefit in Nav, so I saved the 2k. Besides, I like the dash without the "tent". Highway driving is very economical (30+ mpg), but city mileage is quite nostalgic of my yukon Denali.

After owning 3 3-series I thought of changing. I test drove the Lexus IS350, Audi A4 and Infiniti G35. The Lexus is faster than the BMW, but none of them compared to the total driving experience of a bimmer. I purchased a 330i and this is the best 3 series yet. Performance, handling and braking are superb. The car is loaded with safety features and I am getting a suprisingly 30+ mpg on the highway.

I still love the car the same as the day I bought it! It is fun to drive. It runs even better now than when it was new, but it is still very tight. I had absolutely no issues with the vehicle. I average about 25 MPG, 90% city driving (not too rough, but some sports driving). The tires still look good with 7500 miles on them, I'd expect at least 25k miles out of them. I like the transmission, but it takes some getting used to. One thing to note is that the BMW recommends the oil change every 15k miles, but my computer has come down from 15k to 14, 13 and now it is at 12k. The AC is powerful, and quickly cools it down. The radio/CD is great for the standard one. Perfect brakes.

What an upgrade from a VW Jetta. The saying, " VW Jetta is a poor man's BMW," is partially true, and now I know what I have been missing by not paying the extra 5K to get a BMW in the past. I think We just bought a new BMW at the right time. This car is German engineering to the T. Absolutely flawless, stout, and sleek at the same time. We lost our 2001 VR6 Jetta to Katrina, and the wife wanted another German made car. So, we went to a BMW dealer, and that same day we decided to purchase. If you are in the market for a sport sedan, want the best of the best... go test drive the 2006 325i!

I regret no European delivery or going for upgraded stereo. Would love car just as much without seat power options.

This is the first BMW for us. It has about 16,000 KMS (10K miles). Average 38 to 40 MPG on a Canadian gallon. I drove Mercedes cars for 24 years. This new 06 325i is solid, fast, comfortable, very economical, handles with amazing flexibility, has great load space especially with seats down, and is a better buy than the C Class MB for the money. Mercedes seems to be failing to provide their historically good quality. My C Class was only average in quality. The 13 speaker Harmon Kardon Logic 7 stereo system is amazing. Buy one. Don't settle for less. PS: I have driven all sorts of vehicles in about 30 countries overseas

1 month review for a 2006 330i 6spd manual. I have driven it 1500 miles and it's been a very pleasurable experience. Excellent acceleration, braking, stability, handling, and manuevering. The car never seems out of breath or underpowered in any gear. Delivers good torque even at the lower speed range of a gear - simply amazing. The interior is quite plain & simple compared to other cars at the same price, but that's certainly not enough reason to decide against buying the car. Looks very beautiful from the outside. Turns a lot a heads and commands attention on the road.

Have almost 10000 miles on it now and it still smells like new, handles like a charm, goes like a rocket. Bmw really hit it on the nail this time around and will be rewared. I drive it to work every day and get looks and comments."nice ride" How do you like that fighting machine" I plan to hold on to this baby for a long time!

It's only been a week since I picked up my car and everytime i drive the more i like it. It's still not completely broken in so I'm not really pushing it to the limits yet. Waited three months to decide which car to get. Looking back now I can't believe I wasted so much time. This car is the one and only. If any of you are worried about getting problems with runflats, I suggest buying one from tirerack and when you get a flat just take to a regular tire place and change it there. Because most places don't stock runflats for this car.

I have had my new 325i for almost three months now and still make excuses to drive my car. I have found myself driving around just to drive this car. Can't say enough about it. Love, Love, Love it!

Last December it was a time to return my 2006 Impreza from a lease, so I spent good month in advance to shop around for new car. Right now any new one good loaded mid size sedan will go easy up to 30k, and if it's German then you are looking around 40k. So I decided to buy 2006 certified car, had to drive 2006 C-class, A4, Jetta, etc. They all good but not impressed until I stop by at local Bimmer dealer and took 325i with premium pack for test drive. Guys I couldn't believe that car could be made so well balanced suspension/power/comfort. I just felt in love with it plus 0.9% financing for 5 years, two first payments made by BMW, and great price to clean the inventory by the end of the year.

It has been almost 11 years since my last BMW and this one does not disappoint. It took only a short time on the test drive to know that my wait for a new 325 was at long last over. I now have a new 2006 325i in Monaco Blue with Beige Leather. The new 3.0l 6 is a vast improvement over the previous 185hp engine. More fun to drive than ever. I find myself looking for reasons to go to the store. The new body is awesome. The sport package is worth every penny. The sport seats take comfort over the stock seats to a new level. Fit and finish are good. Drive one then drive anythig else in it's class and see why they call them The Ultimate Driving Machine!!

You can't beat the handling, smooth engine, technology advances, pristine styling, brute strength and refined luxury. Some cars do one or several of these things well. The BMW 3-Series has mastered them all. Where previous generations had a more pedestrian exterior - especially the coupe, which appeared to be missing the 3rd and 4th doors - the new 3 delivers aggressive styling with balance and panache. This is the best car on the road, period. You may find more technology gadgets in an Acura, less road noise in a Lexus and more power in an Aud (?) ... but no competitor comes close to delivering the complete package - from tip to tail - with so many features at or near the top of the rankings.

The 'SPORTS' Is Gone, Replaced By Luxury

BMW's major changes to its 2006 3-Series is fascinating and yet somewhat boring as well. This is my 4th BMW in the 3-Series and while I welcome change, I find myself associating the new design and approach as similar to what Nissan did to its 'Z' cars or what Ford did to its 'Thunderbird'. Sports cars that were fun to drive became fat, boring and touted with 'luxury' instead of 'sport'. I love BMW handling and above all, BMW's intense focus on safety. My 325i 2006 came with i-Drive and the navigation system. Once I get my pilots license, I might have it mastered. Until that time, I really dislike it. Rear view side mirrors are too small and run-flat tires with no spare concern me.
