2013 Chicago Auto Show: Superman-Inspired Kia Optima Hybrid

2013 Chicago Auto Show

What Is It?
2013 Kia Optima Hybrid. Well, sort of.

What's Special About It?
Superman does not need a car. He can fly, which is a vastly superior form of transportation than driving around in a 2013 Kia Optima Hybrid. Unless it's snowing, which it presently is here at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. Then, perhaps, Superman would like a car instead of flying. But that would make Superman a wimp and surprisingly susceptible to inclement weather. Perhaps Kia should've glued some giant eyeglasses onto a Kia Optima Hybrid to create a Clark Kent edition instead.

Anyway, Kia created the Superman-inspired Optima Hybrid as the latest entry in its on-going partnership with DC Comics. Previous cars have included a Green Lantern Kia Soul, an Aquaman Kia Rio and a Batman Kia Optima. A Wonderwoman Sportage will be introduced at the New York auto show.

All are influenced by comic book artist Jim Lee and intended to raise awareness of DC Entertainment "We Can Be Heroes" relief effort to help drought and famine victims in Africa. Its Web site is www.WeCanBeHeroes.org.

What Edmunds Says: It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a Kia Optima Hybrid?
