The 2021 Audi Q5 Sportback is a Q5 with an aggressively tapered roof. Pretty simple, right? Available with the same features, same performance and similar looks, the Q5 Sportback is a new addition to the Audi lineup with style at the top of its list of priorities. It's a Q5 with a sleeker profile, designed to attract more eyes to this versatile luxury SUV.
2021 Audi Q5 Sportback
Just like the standard Audi Q5, the Q5 Sportback is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 261 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. It's mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system. An SQ5 version of the Q5 Sportback will also be available, powered by a 3.0-liter V6 (349 hp, 369 lb-ft) and paired to an eight-speed automatic.
Audi's build quality has been a strength in recent years, and we expect that won't change with the new Q5 Sportback. An attractive interior design, lined with high-end materials, means this compact crossover will feel classy and upscale.
Handling the majority of the Q5 Sportback's tech functions is a crisp 10.1-inch infotainment display. The system offers a customizable home screen and modern touches including over-the-air updates for software changes or bug fixes. Along with the attractive interface, the Q5 Sportback offers wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto integration, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, and driver safety aids such as adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning.
The standard Q5 ranks near the top of our list of small luxury SUVs thanks to its top-notch interior, impressive driving dynamics, and a long list of available tech options. We expect the 2021 Audi Q5 Sportback will share many of the same attributes. Buyers should know that some rear passenger headroom and cargo space has been sacrificed in the name of the Q5 Sportback's sleeker profile.
