This is a great automobile. The Lane control is excellent and the adaptive cruise works great in stop and go traffic. The technology is almost to the point where one could read a book while traveling on the interstate. I am getting over 40 mpg on the highway traveling at about 77 mph.

My Favorite Car Ever

This is by far my favorite car that I have ever owned. It has everything that you could want. I cannot imagine needing more power than what the A8 3.0 brings to table. You tap on the accelerator and you're off to the races with all of the horses you need under the hood. The back seat comfortably seats people 6'5", which is a rare find in any vehicle. The seat massagers are a great feature for the driver and passengers and the climate control is excellent for front and back seats. It has the smoothest ride of any car that I have ever been in. There are roads that I regularly drive on that you have to take slow in my wife's Toyota Sienna of you'll get bumped around that I can drive over at normal speed and not even feel. The camera that gives you a 360 degree view when you are parking or pulling out of a spot is a phenomenal feature. It's tough to live without when you're driving a "normal car'. I get 30 MPG on the highway, which is completely unexpected for this land yacht. This is car is so luxurious that my wife tells me my expectations are too high when we look at other cars. Once you drive this car, you're going to have a tough time downgrading to another vehicle. About the only complaint that i can come up with is the in-car wifi, which only has 3G capability and the navi system which is based on google maps which you have to have the 3G service for which is unfortunate, but I mostly use Waze for navigation anyway. If you can afford it, don't second guess - buy this awesome piece of engineering and luxury!

Growing up I said one day I would own a BMW. Well I’m full grown and don’t own a BMW and I’m glad I don’t. This A8 is rare comparison to say BMW 7-Series or the MB S-Class. Exclusivity has its privileges and boy does this car turn heads. Fit and finish from the outside is great. An all aluminum frame with sheet metal. The only thing that I would improve on is the grill. The plastic seems cheesy in comparison. Once inside you have so much eye candy and buttons galore. From heated seats, steering wheel to programing the Sirius equipped radio. Engine power is at an abundance. 430hp with a 0-60 4.3 seconds. These are corvette numbers. Safety features can have this car driving itself. Only the U.S. regulations prohibit. But the adaptive cruise control, lane assist and optional infrared camera you can sit back and enjoy all the creature comforts of this 100k beast. As with any car of this magnitude I expect to pay hefty for repairs. But I have an extended warranty that will take me up to 105k miles. I don’t regret a day of owning this car and I hate when I have to park it. I’ve gotten 30 mph on a drive to Ga from NY and on the return home I was able to get 32mpg. All the while hitting speeds of up to 80mph cruising around 70. I tell anyone who is thinking of buying this car just do so and thank me later. Update 7/20 it’s been a little over two years of owning this car. I still smile when I drive it. Still take a glance over my shoulder after I park. Maintenance wise, there were 2 recalls dealing with the fuel lines that were fixed free of charge. I’ve done regular oil changes. The most expensive repair/ replacement were the brakes. I should have known better to go to the dealership. $2000 for front and rear brakes. This did not include changing the rotors that would probably jumped the cost to over 3g. Next time I’ll buy after market slotted and drilled and have a regular shop install them. I’d save about 1g. Other than that I still get compliments on how beautiful the car is 1/16/21 Update. With almost 72k on the clock and one replaced pirelli tire the smiles are still there. I am having a small water leak when it rains heavily for long periods of time. The Headliner isn't wet but I've look into forums and it's stated the sunroof drain holes could be blocked. Some weed wacker feed line I read should fix it. I'm also hearing creaking noises while going over bumps. It's freezing in NYC now. I read in the forums its the rubber bushings on the front control arms that are causing the issue. When I bring it in for service I'll have them look at it. Maybe it's covered under the extended warranty. 1/19/2023 Still loving the car at 86000 miles the turbos went kaput. A known issue that the factory installed oil strainer gets clogged and starves the turbo causing them to fail. The NHTSA has had several complaints and are investigating. Audi sent out a bulletin to all owners of the 4.0TT engine. Audi has extended the warranty to 10 years 90000 miles. $14,000 job. Audi America was great at covering the faulty part and replacing new turbochargers. My advice to anyone buying one of these cars second hand is to make sure this repair was done. Side note. If there were any engine mods Audi will not cover the repairs.

VERY RELIABLE!

I own a 2017 A8L 3.0 V6. I bought it with 36k miles and now it has 124k miles and so far it has been the most reliable sedan I have owned. At 124k miles I have never had a single issue. No check engine lights, no oil leaks, no suspension issues just perfect. I owned a 2014 S550 Mercedes and at 77k miles it was having a lot of suspension problems witch were very expensive and then at 100k it had engine problems. So the Audi A8 is a lot better then a Sclass or a 7 series BMW. Inhighly recommend!
