Used 2003 Audi A4 Wagon Consumer Reviews
looks,quality,surefooted, but no go!
When we got the A4 avant for my wife a year ago,we knew the car was a beauty, and we suspected great built quality, and we got it. What we did not know is that the 1.8turbo matched to the 5 speed auto is almost slow, noisy at high rpms, and very thirsty for so few inches. Why offer this combo to such unsuspecting public?I know the torque is excellent and that there is almost no turbo lag,but pleeeeaaase, at 37 grands out the door,we deserve better performance!. Apart from that,it is very comfortable, handles beautifully, and a very pleasant place to spend time in ,unless you are going up a slope, fully loaded, with the dog in the back.
Audi A4
Aluminum trim is my favorite. The car launches and handles like its on rails. Get the Bose!

2003 Avant
2nd owner. It has 65K miles on it at this writing and has all maintenance records. No serious mechanical issues, though I did replace the entire PCV system this year (5/2019) as I was getting a burnt oil smell after parking in garage. Marvelously styled wagon. The Audi Quattro system is second to none. Update: 16July2020; 71,231 miles - still no dents, mechanically sound and handles well on Cooper CS5 Grand Touring tires. 1/2021- Preventative care, Audi/Dayton changed thermostat, secondary air intake gasket/hose, timing belt, water pump, serpentine belt, tensioners and fuel flush. 72,789 miles. Not dents. Get lot of nice comments on looks. 7/19/21 - 74,277mi. State of Ohio stopped requiring front license plate, so took that off (no holes drilled in front bumper-used tow bar compartment for plate bracket) - looks better w/no plate. Air conditioning works great. Ext/interior impeccable. 1/2022, miles 77,476. Pristine, well maintained. Collision insurance: $18,000. 7/2022, miles 78,081. 7/2023, miles 81,137. 2/2024, miles 83,619. New power steering pump and heater core (Audi/Dayton). 2/2/2025, 87,554 miles. All good.

Nirvana
As I'm in my 50's now, I've driven many different types of vehicles but mostly Japanese, including Lexus. The ride of this vehicle supersedes by far anything I have owned or tested in performance, comfort, handling, and confidence. As I explained to a friend, this car could die on me tomorrow, and I wouldn't care because the time spent with it already has provided enough pleasure for a lifetime. Buy it, you won't regret it.
Just Don't Call it a "Wagon"
This is a fabulous car. Audi really raised the bar with their latest version of the A4 . First of all, it is one if the best looking mass-produced vehicles going. (Why would anyone buy the A6? There's not THAT much more room.)Its design elements are in perfect balance - inside & out. The sport suspension works great (its hunkered-down stance looks fabulous too). Very, very nice car. Get one.
